AVANGRID [ORANGE, CT] (NYSE: AGR) announced the appointment of Dennis V. Arriola as Chief Executive Officer effective July 20, 2020. Arriola succeeds James P. Torgerson who, as previously announced, will retire on June 23, 2020. Arriola joins AVANGRID from Sempra Energy, where he is currently Executive Vice President and Group President and Chief Sustainability Officer. With more than 25 years in the energy sector, Arriola has held a variety of leadership positions including Chairman, President and CEO of Southern California Gas Co., Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for SunPower Corp., a Silicon Valley-based solar technology company, and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of both San Diego Gas & Electric and SoCalGas.
Leading Edge Equipment Technologies [BOSTON, MA] announced the hiring of Rick Schwerdtfeger as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Leading Edge, Schwerdtfeger was Co-founder of the Advanced RenewableEnergy Company. Before ARC, Schwerdtfeger worked extensively in photovoltaics, specifically as COO of Pica Solar and as a staff scientist at the National Renewable Energy Lab.
Zomedica Pharmaceuticals Corp. [ANN ARBOR, MI] (NYSE American: ZOM) announced that it has appointed Robert Cohen, formerly of EmboMedics, Inc., as its Interim Chief Executive Officer. Shameze Rampertab, who had been acting as Zomedica’s Interim Chief Executive Officer since December 2019, will continue in his role as Zomedica’s Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors.
ModusLink [WALTHAM, MA] announced the appointment of Fawaz Khalil as the President and Chief Executive Officer, succeeding John Whitenack. Khalil has most recently been a Lean Management consultant. Previously, Khalil was President and CEO at Halco Lighting Technologies, and President at Filtration Group, besides leadership roles at Danaher and Acuity Brands.
Revint [PLANO, TX] announced the appointment of Lee Rivas as Chief Executive Officer. Rivas joins Revint from RELX where he has served as a senior leader for the last 14 years, most recently as CEO of all Healthcare and Public Sector businesses across the LexisNexis Risk Solutions and Elsevier Divisions. Prior to RELX, Rivas was an Engagement Manager with McKinsey and Company.
Club Vita [NEW YORK] announced that Jennifer Haid has joined Club Vita’s international team as Chief Executive Officer. Previously, Haid was vice president Strategic Marketing and Product Development at American International Group in New York City. Prior to AIG, Haid worked for EY in New York consulting to the insurance community, and in Toronto at Willis Towers Watson.
Lose It! [BOSTON, MA] announced that Patrick Wetherille, former VP of Growth, has been appointed as the new CEO, as former CEO and co-founder, Charles Teague, steps into the Executive Chairman role. Wetherille joined the Lose It! team in 2012 as VP of Growth.
AECOM [LOS ANGELES, CA] (NYSE:ACM) announced the appointment of W. Troy Rudd to Chief Executive Officer. Currently AECOM’s Chief Financial Officer, Rudd will assume the role from Michael S. Burke, who previously announced his plans to retire. Since joining AECOM in 2009, Rudd has held key leadership roles. Rudd has also led the expansion of the Company’s design center and shared services center practices.
Vaxart, Inc. [SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA] (NasdaqCM: VXRT) announced that effective it has appointed Andrei Floroiu as Chief Executive Officer. Floroiu has served as a member of Vaxart’s Board of Directors since April 2020 and will continue on the board while serving as Chief Executive Officer. Floroiu was most recently with Agenus, Inc. Prior to Agenus, Floroiu was a Managing Director at Exigo Capital.
Lockheed Martin Corporation [BETHESDA, MD] (NYSE: LMT) announced that James D. Taiclet became president and CEO of Lockheed Martin Corporation. Taiclet succeeds Marillyn A. Hewson who has served as chairman, president and CEO since 2014 and president and CEO since 2013. Taiclet will continue to serve as a member of the corporation’s board, which he joined in 2018. Hewson will become executive chairman of the board and provide ongoing support for the leadership transition. Taiclet’s tenure as CEO of American Tower Corporation started in 2003 and he became chairman, president and CEO in 2004. Prior to joining American Tower in 2001, Taiclet was president of Honeywell Aerospace Services, a unit of Honeywell International, and prior to that was vice president, Engine Services at Pratt & Whitney.
Catalyst Biosciences, Inc. [SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA] (NASDAQ: CBIO) announced the appointment of Clinton Musil as its new chief financial officer, effective July 1, 2020. Clinton Musil previously held the position of Chief Business Officer at Personalis. Prior to Personalis, Musil was a member of the executive management team at ARMO Biosciences. Earlier in his career, Musil served in various positions at Gilead Sciences and Sanofi.
Avis Budget Group, Inc. [PARSIPPANY, NJ] (NASDAQ: CAR) announced that it has appointed Joe Ferraro, who has been serving as interim Chief Executive Officer, as CEO. Ferraro assumed the role of interim Chief Executive Officer of Avis Budget Group at the start of 2020. Ferraro, a long-time Avis Budget executive, most recently spent five years as President of the Americas division, where he was responsible for the Company’s Avis, Budget, Payless and Zipcar brands in North and South America, including Latin America and the Caribbean. avisbudget.com
Evoque Data Center Solutions™ [DALLAS, TX] announced the appointment of Andy Stewart as Chief Executive Officer. Stewart has previously served as Chief Strategy Officer at TierPoint, where he was responsible for leading product development, technology strategy and mergers and acquisitions. Stewart also has been an Executive Advisor at Thompson Street Capital Partners and a board member at BCM One. Stewart replaces Tim Caulfield as CEO, who is stepping down after 18 months.
Simon Hegele Healthcare Solutions [CHICAGO, IL] announced the appointment of James Nestel as Chief Executive Officer for Americas and Asia Pacific. Nestel comes from Hitachi Healthcare Americas, North American division of Hitachi Limited’s Healthcare Business Unit where he was Director of Operations. Current CEO Christoph Sitzer led Simon Hegele Healthcare Solutions since joining the company in 2006. Nestel joined Hitachi Healthcare Americas in 2005 as Manager of Site Planning & Mechanical Installations. Nestel was promoted to Manager Service Operations before being named Director of Operations. Additionally, over the past five years Nestel has chaired the Medical Imaging Technology Alliance Service Committee.
Adverum Biotechnologies, Inc. [REDWOOD CITY, CA] (Nasdaq: ADVM) announced that Laurent Fischer has joined the company as its chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors. Leone Patterson, who has served for four years in executive leadership roles at Adverum, most recently as the company’s CEO, will continue to serve as the company’s president. Most recently, Fischer was senior vice president and head of the Liver Therapeutic Area at Allergan, PLC. Previously, Patterson served as chairman and chief executive officer of Tobira Therapeutics until its acquisition by Allergan in November 2016. Previously, he served as chairman and chief executive officer of Jennerex, Inc. Prior to Jennerex, Patterson was co-founder, president and chief executive officer of Ocera Therapeutics and president and chief executive officer of Auxeris Therapeutics, Inc. Fischer currently serves as chairman of the board of CTI Biopharma, as director at Mirum Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Lycia Therapeutics, and as senior advisor on the Life Sciences Team at Frazier Healthcare Partners.
Abcentra LLC [LOS ANGELES, CA] announced Kevin B. Bacon has joined the organization as Chief Executive Officer. Bacon was most recently the President and Chief Executive Officer of SMA Therapeutics Inc., and acting CEO of Raft Pharmaceuticals, LLC. Prior to SMA and Raft, Bacon was the Founder and CSO of Actimis Pharmaceuticals. Bacon was also former Vice President of Respiratory Disease Therapeutic Area at Bayer.
Green Dot Corporation [PASADENA, CA] (NYSE: GDOT) announced that Greg Quarles has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Green Dot Bank. Quarles most recently served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of American State Bancshares. Before joining American State Bancshares, Quarles also served in a Chief Executive Officer role at H&R Block Bank.
Springbrook Software [PORTLAND, OR] announced that Robert Bonavito has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Most recently Bonavito was the Chief Executive Officer of JAGGAER. Prior to JAGGAER, Bonavito was the Chairman of OnCenter Software. Bonavito founded and was the CEO of iTradeNetwork. Bonavito succeeds Max Schnoedl who has served as President and CEO of Springbrook since early 2018.
Cambrex [EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ] announced that Tom Loewald has been named Chief Executive Officer and a member of the company’s Board of Directors, effective September 7th 2020. Loewald is a 15-year veteran of Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he served in several senior executive roles during his tenure, including Chief Commercial Officer, President of the Analytical Instruments Group, President of the Laboratory Products Group and President of the Laboratory Equipment Division. Loewald currently serves as President of the Flexibles Division of ProAmpac. Earlier in his career he held leadership positions at Tyco International and General Electric. Loewald currently serves on the Board of Directors of Harvard BioScience.
Pipedrive [NEW YORK] announced that Raj Sabhlok, former President of SaaS business application provider Zoho, has joined the company as CEO. Sabhlok succeeds current CEO and co-founder Timo Rein, who has been leading the company since its start ten years ago and will become Pipedrive’s Chairman of the Board.
CMMB [NEW YORK] announced that Mary Beth Powers will serve as CMMB’s new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2020. Powers comes to CMMB with over 30 years of experience. She began her career with Catholic Relief Services in Pakistan. Powers Previously served as CEO at SeriousFun Children’s Network.
VeriShip [KANSAS CITY, MO] announced Shawn McCarrick as its new CEO. McCarrick, a logistics industry veteran and formerly an advisor to the company, replaces acting CEO Michael George. George will continue to serve its board of directors as executive chairman. Most recently, McCarrick was Senior Vice President of Broadridge Financial Solutions. McCarrick joined Freightquote as Chief Information Officer in 2006 and became acting COO in 2008.
VeriToll [RESTON, VA] announced the appointment of Devaki Baker as Chief Executive Officer. Baker joins VeriToll from Team Verso which she founded in 2015. Prior to joining VeriToll, Baker served as Head of Latin America at Perfect Sense Digital.
United Insurance Holdings Corp. [ST. PETERSBURG, FL] (Nasdaq: UIHC) announced it has appointed R. Daniel Peed as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2020. Most recently Peed was Vice Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors. Peed will succeed John L. Forney, who will be stepping down as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective June 30, 2020, to pursue other opportunities. Peed was a co-founder of AmRisc, LLC, served as the President and Chief Executive Officer from December 2000 to December 2018, and most recently served as AmRisc, LLC’s Non-Executive Vice Chairman from December 2018 until December 2019. Peed has been Vice Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors since the acquisition of American Coastal Insurance Company in April 2017.
The National Council on Aging [ARLINGTON, VA] announced that Ramsey Alwin has been named the organization’s new chief executive officer effective Aug. 31. Alwin replaces James Firman, who led NCOA for 25 years until his retirement earlier this year. Alwin returns to NCOA following five years at AARP. Alwin havingserved as vice president, economic security for the organization from 2009 to 2015. Prior to her initial role at NCOA, Alwin served as director, National Economic Security Programs for Wider Opportunities for Women and held several roles within the National Association for State Community Services Programs, most recently, director of program services.
Johns Manville [DENVER, CO] announced that Bob Wamboldt will become President and CEO on Sept. 1, 2020. Mary Rhinehart, the company’s current Chairman, President and CEO, will retain the role of Chairman. Wamboldt joined Johns Manville in 2003 and became President of JM’s Insulation Systems business in February 2017. Wamboldt earlier led the Engineered Products North America and Roofing Systems businesses at JM. Wamboldt is also Chairman of the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association and previously served as president of the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association. Before joining Johns Manville, Wamboldt worked 16 years at PPG Industries Inc.
MCNC [RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC] announced that Tracy Doaks will assume the role of president and CEO in August. Doaks replaces Jean Davis, who announced in December that she was stepping down, but has remained on staff to help provide a smooth transition for her successor. Doaks currently as state chief information officer and secretary for the N.C. Department of Information Technology, Doaks joined NCDIT in November 2015 and served as chief deputy state CIO and chief services officer until her appointment as state CIO earlier this year. Prior to joining NCDIT, Doaks worked for Duke Medicine, where she served as the senior director of Service Delivery. Doaks also held previous roles as assistant secretary of IT and CIO for the N.C. Department of Revenue as well as Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina and Accenture.
Wells Fargo & Company [SAN FRANCISCO, CA] (NYSE: WFC) announced that Barry Sommers will join the company as CEO of Wealth & Investment Management. Until April 2019, Sommers was CEO of Wealth Management at JPMorgan Chase. Sommers also served as CEO of the Consumer Bank. Before that, Sommers spent time as the CEO of Chase Wealth Management, where he helped build the Chase Private Client Services business. Sommers also served as the CEO of J.P. Morgan Securities.
Amkor Technology, Inc. [TEMPE, AZ] (NASDAQ: AMKR) announced that Giel Rutten, Amkor’s executive vice president since January 2014, has been appointed to serve as president and chief executive officer and as a director of the company. Rutten succeeds Steve Kelley, who is leaving after more than seven years of valuable service to Amkor. Rutten joined Amkor in January 2014 as executive vice president of advanced products and has over 30 years of experience in the global semiconductor industry. Before Amkor, Rutten served as chief executive officer of Ledzworld\, and also served as senior vice president for the Business Unit Home in NXP. Rutten first joined Philips Semiconductors in 1984 and took on various key management positions in the areas of general management, marketing, operations and engineering in Europe, Asia and the United States.
Waters Corporation [MILFORD, MA] (NYSE:WAT) announced that the Company and Christopher O’Connell have mutually agreed that O’Connell will step down as President, Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Board when a successor is appointed.
