BrightSphere Investment Group Inc. [BOSTON] (NYSE: BSIG) announced that it has appointed its Chief Financial Officer, Suren Rana, as its Chief Executive Officer and President. Rana will also join the Board of Directors. Guang Yang will be stepping down as CEO, President and Chairman.
Altria Group, Inc. [RICHMOND, VA] (NYSE: MO) announced Howard Willard’s retirement as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Altria, effective April 14, 2020. Following Willard’s retirement, Altria has selected Billy Gifford to serve as Altria’s CEO. Gifford has served in numerous senior leadership roles during his more than 25-year career at Altria, including most recently Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer. Previously he served as Altria’s Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development and President and CEO of Philip Morris USA.
eScholar [WHITE PLAINS, NY] announced that Wolf Boehme will be promoted to CEO of eScholar, effective May 1, 2020. Boehme is currently the President of eScholar. Prior to joining eScholar, Boehme was an early member of the Bloomberg LP leadership team.
Maguire Associates [CONCORD, MA] announced the appointment of John J. Bonanno as chief executive officer. Bonanno succeeds Linda Cox Maguire in a long-planned leadership transition. Formerly president of ESM Digital, a digital marketing firm serving higher education, Bonanno also served as president of the Corporate Education Group, associate dean/chief executive officer in Boston University’s Corporate and Professional Programs unit.
Blue Mountain Midstream LLC [HOUSTON, TX] announced that C. Gregory Harper has resigned as President and Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Company’s Board of Directors, effective April 27, 2020. Following Harper’s resignation, the Company plans to consolidate the management of Blue Mountain within the Company’s existing executive management team. The Board does not intend to select a member to replace Harper.
Jack in the Box Inc. [SAN DIEGO] (NASDAQ: JACK) announced that Darin Harris has been appointed by its Board of Directors as Chief Executive Officer and will join the Jack in the Box Board of Directors, both effective no later than June 15, 2020. Most recently, Harris has served as Chief Executive Officer of North America for IWG PLC. Harris has extensive leadership experience in the restaurant industry encompassing operations, franchising, brand strategy and restaurant development. Most notably, Harris is the former Chief Executive Officer of CiCi’s Pizza. Harris also previously held franchise leadership roles as Senior Vice President at Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. and Vice President, Franchise and Corporate Development at Captain D’s Seafood, Inc. He was also a prior franchise operator of Papa John’s Pizza and Qdoba Mexican Grill. Harris takes over from Lenny Comma, who announced his intent to retire in December 2019 and has served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board since 2014.
Sound Agriculture [EMERYVILLE, CA] announced the appointment of Adam Litle as Chief Executive Officer. Litle joins Sound Agriculture from Granular. Most recently, Litle served as Granular’s SVP Revenue and was a member of Corteva’s Global Leadership Team. Prior, Litle held general management and corporate development roles at Codexis, a biotechnology company serving the life science and food industries.
QuantalRF [SAN DIEGO] announced that it has appointed Ali Fard to lead the company as their new Chief Executive Officer. Fard will replace Mike Wrape who has served as interim CEO for the past 7 months. In addition to becoming QuantalRF’s new CEO, Fard will also remain as CTO. Mike Wrape will become Chief Intellectual Property Officer and continues in his role as the company’s VP of Product Management.
CloudBolt Software [NORTH BETHESDA, MD] announced the appointment of Jeff Kukowski as its Chief Executive Officer and a member of CloudBolt’s Board of Directors. Most recently, Kukowski served as CEO and Board Director at SecureAuth. Prior to SecureAuth, Kukowski served as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, and Executive Vice President of Sales at Axon, manufacturer of TASER.
Innovative Micro Technology [SANTA BARBARA, CA] announced that Eric Sigler has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer. Sigler joined IMT in late 2018 as senior vice president of strategy and business development. Sigler was previously VP of corporate development, production management, and business development with Tessera Technologies. Eric was also a partner with Scale Venture Partners.
Advarra [COLUMBIA, MD] announced the appointment of Gadi Saarony as Chief Executive Officer. Saarony has served the last 17 years with Parexel International, a leading provider of clinical research, commercialization, technology, and product development consulting services to the Bio/Pharmaceutical industry. In his most recent role at Parexel, he was Executive Vice President, Chief Clinical Research Services Officer, responsible for the operational delivery of its clinical research services. Before joining Parexel in 2003, Saarony served as Director of Consulting Services for Habama, Inc. and Associate Director, Strategy, with Ernst & Young, LLP, Inc.
Cardurion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. [BOSTON, MA] announced the appointment of Peter S. Lawrence as president and chief executive officer. Lawrence joins Cardurion after serving for almost 14 years as president and chief operating officer of ArQule, Inc. Before joining ArQule, Lawrence was a founder and general partner of Pod Venture Partners and previously was a corporate law equity partner at Mintz Levin. Lawrence succeeds Michael E. Mendelsohn founder and interim CEO of Cardurion, who will continue in his role as chairman of Cardurion’s Board of Directors.
Mesa Biotech [SAN DIEGO] announced the appointment of Ingo Chakravarty as President and Chief Executive Officer. Chakravarty succeeds Hong Cai, Co-Founder and CEO of Mesa Biotech since 2010. Cai will remain actively involved with the company in her new role as Chief Technology Officer. Chakravarty most recently served as President and CEO of NAVICAN Genomics and previously spent two decades building global businesses in the oncology and infectious disease marketplace, holding senior leadership positions at GenMark Diagnostics, Gen-Probe, Roche and Ventana Medical Systems.
PANOS Brands, LLC [ROCHELLE PARK, NJ] has named Darcy Zbinovec to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining PANOS, Zbinovec served as Chief Executive Officer for Ehrmann Commonwealth Dairy, the US division for Ehrmann AG. Prior to Ehrmann, Zbinovec served as CEO for Among Friends, LLC.
Summit Therapeutics plc [CAMBRIDGE, MA] (NASDAQ: SMMT) announced that Robert (Bob) Duggan has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Summit Therapeutics. Duggan will retain his role as Chairman of the Board. Glyn Edwards has tendered his resignation.
Eutectix, LLC [CHATHAM, NJ] announced the appointment of Barry D. Russell as Chief Executive Officer. Russell most recently served as Chief Executive Officer for Tread Corporation, and previously was a Corporate Officer and operating Vice President for Ferro Corporation, and a Group Vice President at Honeywell International. Russell previously was a Director on the Board of Voltaix, Inc.
Dacarba LLC [HOUSTON & BOSTON] announced that Paul Roscoe has joined the firm as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Dacarba, Roscoe was CEO, Co-Founder and Board member of Docent Health. Previously, Roscoe served as the CEO of Crimson, a division of the Advisory Board Company, and led the business to become the leading healthcare analytics company in the U.S. healthcare market. Prior to Crimson, he was General Manager of Microsoft’s Healthcare Solutions Group. Roscoe joined Microsoft, after the acquisition of Sentillion, where he served as President and led the business to become the industry leader in Healthcare Identity Management.
SOME (So Others Might Eat) [WASHINGTON, DC] announced the appointment of Ralph F. Boyd, Jr. as CEO. Boyd is currently the senior resident fellow for leadership and strategy at the Urban Land Institute.
Revo Testing Technologies, LLC [HOUSTON, TX] announced that Alex Bergman has been named Chief Executive Officer. Bergman brings more than 20 years of professional leadership experience, including senior positions in the technical oilfield services, engineering and energy investment sectors at companies including Rockwater Energy Solutions, SCF Partners and CSL Capital Management.
Leo Lens Pharma [SAN DIEGO] announced the appointment of Dan Myers as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Leo Lens, Dan Myers was the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Alimera Sciences, where he continues to serve as chairman of the Board of Directors. Before founding Alimera, Myers was a founding employee of Novartis Ophthalmics and served as its President from 1997 to 2003.
Digital Reasoning [NASHVILLE, TN] announced that company founder Tim Estes has resumed the role of CEO, and has been named Executive Chairman of the Board. Additionally, Brook Hazelton has joined the company as President and co-CEO and will serve as the other management board member. Prior to joining Digital Reasoning, Hazelton was President of North & South America at Christie’s. Previously, Hazelton acted as the global CEO of Phillips. Hazelton began his career in the finance sector, working internationally with Goldman Sachs and The Carlyle Group.
Instone [ALSIP, IL] a portfolio company of Brookstone Partners, announced that Gordon Strout has decided to retire from his position as CEO. Strout will stay on as Executive Chairman of Instone’s Board of Directors. Kevin Grotke will succeed Strout as President and CEO. Grotke joined Instone in 2010, after a 15-year career at Owens Corning.
