UPS [ATLANTA, GA] (NYSE: UPS) announced it has named Carol Tomé as UPS Chief Executive Officer, effective June 1. David Abney, the current Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, will remain in his role until June 1 when he will become Executive Chairman of the Board. Tomé has been a member of the UPS Board of Directors since 2003 and serves as Chairperson of the Audit Committee. Tomé is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Home Depot.
HanesBrands [WINSTON-SALEM, NC] (NYSE: HBI) announced that Gerald W. Evans Jr. has notified the company’s Board of Directors of his decision to retire at the end of the current fiscal year, which ends Jan. 2, 2021.
Workscape Inc. [PITTSBURGH, PA] announced Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Dawn Sauter expressed her intention to step away from her leadership position and pursue other interests, agreeing in the short-term to work as an advisor to the business. With Dawn’s transition, Virginia (Ginny) Rothschild has been hired as CEO. Previously, Rothschild worked in design-centric facets of the retail industry, highlighted by senior positions at Walmart, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Pittsburgh denim start up Revtown.
Second Sight Medical Products, Inc. [LOS ANGELES] (NASDAQ: EYES) announced the departure of Will McGuire, President and Chief Executive Officer, effective March 27, 2020, to pursue another professional opportunity located closer to his family. McGuire remains as a director on Second Sight’s board. Gregg Williams, the Company’s Chairman of the Board, will assume the role of Acting CEO.
Basanite Inc. [POMPANO BEACH, FL] (OTCQB: BASA) announced Basanite has determined to remove the Company’s current President and Chief Executive Officer, Richard Krolewski, effective as of March 6, 2020. Simultaneously, Basanite engaged Simon R. Kay as its Interim President and Chief Executive Officer to continue moving Basanite’s business forward. Kay has served as a strategic consultant to the Board and the Company’s executive management since January 2020.
Ground Labs [AUSTIN, TX] announced that it has appointed Nellie Manktelow as its Chief Executive Officer. The company also announced that co-founders Peter Duthie and Stephen Cavey have assumed Chief Technology Officer and Chief Evangelist roles, respectively. Before joining Ground Labs, Manktelow was the Director of Business Management at the Royal Bank of Scotland, responsible for the Asia Pacific region.
Bombardier [MONTRÉAL, QC] (TSX: BBD.B) announced that Éric Martel has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the Bombardier Board of Directors, effective April 6, 2020. Martel joins Bombardier from Hydro-Québec, where he has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since July 2015. Prior to joining Hydro-Québec, Éric Martel held a number of leadership positions at Bombardier, including President of the Business Aircraft Division and President of the Customer Services and Specialized Aircraft Division.
Clearside Biomedical, Inc. [ALPHARETTA, GA] (NASDAQ: CLSD) announced that George Lasezkay has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer and will continue to serve on the Board of Directors. This appointment was effective March 1, 2020. Lasezkay has served as a director of Clearside since August 2017. Beginning in April 2019, Lasezkay served as the Company’s Interim CEO. Previously, Lasezkay served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Acucela Inc. For the 10 years prior to joining Acucela, Lasezkay was President of Horizon Pharma Group. Prior to Horizon, Lasezkay was Corporate Vice President for Corporate Development at Allergan, Inc.
The Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan [TORONTO, ON] announce the appointment of Jeff Wendling as the new President & Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2020. Wendling replaces Jim Keohane, who announced his retirement last year and has served as CEO since 2012. Wendling is currently HOOPP’s Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer. Wendling joined HOOPP in 1998 as a Senior Portfolio Manager on the Public Equities team. He also served as co-CIO before taking on his current role in 2018.
TrueCar, Inc. [SANTA MONICA, CA] (NASDAQ: TRUE) announced that Mike Darrow has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer and will assume a seat on TrueCar’s Board of Directors. Darrow has been with TrueCar for three years, having served as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer since May 31, 2019. Prior to that, Darrow served as TrueCar’s Executive Vice President of OEM and Affinity Partner Development, as well as President of TrueCar’s ALG subsidiary.
Essence Communications, Inc. [NEW YORK] announced that Michelle Ebanks, Chief Executive Officer, will step down as of March 31, 2020 to pursue other opportunities and to join the board of Essence Ventures, parent company of ESSENCE.
Valicor Environmental Services [MONROE, OH] announced the appointment of Gregg Kaplan as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Kaplan joins the company from Pritzker Private Capital where he served as Operating Partner for the Services Team and worked closely with Valicor’s management. Prior to his tenure with PPC, Kaplan was the founder and CEO of Redbox, the automated DVD rental kiosk company.
Vessco Holdings [CHANHASSEN, MN] announced that the Company has appointed Brian DeWolf as Chief Executive Officer. DeWolf has been with the Company and has served as Vessco Inc.’s President since 1999.
Greater Los Angeles REALTORS® [LOS ANGELES] (GLAR) announced Marty Nash joined the Association, coming on board as the new Chief Executive Officer Before joining GLAR, Nash was the Chief Operations Officer at the 52,000 member MIAMI Association of REALTORS® in Florida.
Ra Medical Systems, Inc. [CARLSBAD, CA] (NYSE: RMED) announced the appointment of Will McGuire as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the company’s Board of Directors, effective March 30, 2020. Andrew Jackson, who has served as Interim CEO since August 2019, will remain Ra Medical’s Chief Financial Officer. McGuire most recently served as President and CEO of Second Sight Medical Products and will remain on the board of Second Sight as a Director. Previously he held leadership positions at Volcano Corporation including President of Americas Commercial and Senior Vice President and General Manager of Coronary Imaging, Systems and Program Management. Prior to that McGuire served as Vice President and General Manager of Patient Monitoring at Covidien, and President and Chief Executive Officer at AtheroMed, Inc.
TPI Composites, Inc. [SCOTTSDALE, AZ] (Nasdaq: TPIC) announced that William E. Siwek, currently President, has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer. Siwek also has been nominated to stand for election to join TPI’s Board of Directors. Steven C. Lockard, whose career at TPI began in 1999 and who has served as CEO since 2004 will become Chairman of the TPI Board, effective May 20, 2020.
Chicago United [CHICAGO, IL] announced that Tiffany Hamel Johnson will become the new president and chief executive officer, effective April 13, 2020. Hamel Johnson succeeds Gloria Castillo, who announced her retirement in May 2019. Hamel-Johnson joins the organization from World Business Chicago, where she is the organization’s second-in-command as executive vice president of strategy and administration. Previously, Hamel Johnson has served as the City of Chicago’s deputy chief neighborhood development officer under former Mayor Rahm Emanuel; chief of staff at the Chicago Urban League; and, the chief executive officer of Windy City Harvest.
Sagent Lending Technologies [KING OF PRUSSIA, PA] appointed Dan Sogorka CEO and president, replacing Bret Leech who will become executive chairman and board member. Before joining Sagent, Sogorka served as CEO of digital mortgage point of sale provider Cloudvirga, President of EXOS Technologies, EVP of Servicelink, and Division President at mortgage servicing and data provider Black Knight.
Biocare Medical [PACHECO, CA] announced that Luis de Luzuriaga has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer. de Luzuriaga spent six years leading Global Commercial Operations at Leica Biosystems and also served as the Divisional Vice President and General Manager of Abbott Hematology. Most recently, de Luzuriaga was the CEO of BIT Group, a subsidiary of Messer Group.
