The Michaels Companies, Inc. [IRVING, TEXAS] (NASDAQ: MIK) announced that Ashley Buchanan has been named President and Chief Executive Officer and appointed to the Company’s Board of Directors. Buchanan will succeed Mark Cosby as Chief Executive on April 1, 2020 and will remain a member of the Board of Directors. Buchanan joined Walmart in 2007. Most recently Buchanan was Chief Merchandising and Chief Operating Officer for Walmart U.S. eCommerce. Prior to joining the U.S. eCommerce team, he was the Chief Merchant at Sam’s Club.
Builders Capital [SEATTLE, WA] announced that Robert Trent has been appointed chief executive officer. Curt Altig, the founding chief executive officer, has been appointed chairman. Prior to his roles at Builders Capital, Trent served as division president for Richmond American Homes, from 2011 to 2013, following the sale of his business, SDC Homes, to Richmond in 2011.
The Peak Dispensary [OKLAHOMA CITY, OK] announced the appointment of Blake Cantrell, most recently General Counsel, as Chief Executive Officer. Cantrell succeeds Corbin Wyatt, who was removed from his position as CEO by The Peak’s Board.
United Planners [SCOTTSDALE, AZ] Announced that Mike Baker, President and General Partner will also become the Chief Executive Officer. This CEO appointment follows the unexpected passing of their previous CEO Dave Shindel on October 19, 2019. Baker has spent many years as the Firm’s CFO .
Mobile Doorman [CHICAGO, IL] appointed Nitin Vig to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Vig joined Mobile Doorman in September 2019, as the company’s first Chief Operating Officer. Co-Founder Brian Samson will be moving on to pursue other opportunities. Before joining Mobile Doorman, Vig worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company.
Invicro LLC [BOSTON, MA] announced, Matthew Silva has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer. Silva will also join Invicro’s Board of Directors. Jack Hoppin, co-founder of Invicro, will move on from his role as Invicro’s CEO to be the President of Konica Minolta Precision Medicine. Hoppin will remain on Invicro’s Board of Directors, as well as continue to serve on the KMPM Board.
Chaparral Energy, Inc [OKLAHOMA CITY, OK] (NYSE: CHAP) announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Charles “Chuck” Duginski as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective December 20, 2019. Duginski succeeds K. Earl Reynolds in those roles as Reynolds has resigned to pursue other interests. Duginski is also joining the Board of Directors. Duginski most recently served as Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President, and board member of Tapstone Energy, LLC. Prior to joining Tapstone, Duginski served as Chief Operating Officer of Echo Energy. He also served as Vice President – Southern Region Production of Continental Resources, Inc.
The Will-Burt Company [ORRVILLE, OH] introduced Richard J. Lewin as the company’s chief executive officer, president, and member of the Board of Directors. Lewin succeeds retiring CEO Jeffry O. Evans, who has led the company since 2002. Lewin has spent 10 years at Will-Burt in a variety of roles. Initially hired to be the Commercial Director at Will-Burt EU in The United Kingdom, Lewin also served as Sales Director, Vice President and General Manager, and as the Senior Vice President responsible for all worldwide businesses. Most recently, Lewin has held the titles of COO and President. Prior to his time at Will-Burt, Lewin served as Sales Director at J.D.C, he has held various senior level roles at various companies including Utilux, Alcan Metal Centers and owned and operated his own successful company, The Pegasus Group.
CSSHealth [TAMPA, FL] announced the promotion of Jim Clair to Chief Executive Officer. Clair will also take a seat on the company’s Board of Managers. Guy Bryant is moving to Executive Chair. Clair previously led Goold Health Systems as CEO, then led Tricast as CEO.
The First of Long Island Corporation [GLEN HEAD, NY] (NASDAQ: FLIC) announced that Christopher Becker succeeded Michael Vittorio as President and Chief Executive Officer and was elected to the Board of Directors of The First of Long Island Corporation and The First National Bank of Long Island.
Underwriters Laboratories Inc. [NORTHBROOK, IL] announced that Terrence R. Brady began his new position as president, chief executive officer and trustee. He assumes the new posts after the retirement of long-serving CEO Keith Williams. In 2018, Brady was appointed president of Underwriters. Brady joined UL in 2012 as senior vice president and general counsel and became senior vice president, chief commercial and legal officer in 2015. Prior to joining UL, Brady was an associate and partner for 27 years in the global law firm Winston & Strawn LLP.
Waitr Holdings Inc. [LAFAYETTE, LA] (Nasdaq: WTRH) announced that Carl Grimstad has been named Chief Executive Officer, and a member of Waitr’s Board of Directors effectively immediately. Adam Price, the Company’s prior Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board, has resigned from both positions. Grimstad is currently the chief manager of C. Grimstad Associates, LLC and the managing partner of GS Capital, LLC. In 1999, he co-founded iPayment Inc. He acted as the president of iPayment until 2011, when he became the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company until 2016.
Aviat Networks, Inc. [AUSTIN, TX] (NASDAQ: AVNW) announced the appointment of Peter Smith as President and Chief Executive Officer. Stan Gallagher, who took on the additional role as Interim Chief Executive Officer in September 2019, will remain with the Company, serving as Chief Operating Officer and Principal Financial Officer. Smith most recently served as Senior Vice President, US Windows and Canada for Jeld-Wen. Prior to Jeld-Wen, he served as President of Polypore International’s Transportation and Industrial segment. Previously, he served as Chief Executive Officer and a director of Voltaix Inc.
BETA Healthcare Group [ALAMO, CA] announced that has selected Corey Grove, Senior Vice President of Insurance Operations to succeed Tom Wander as Chief Executive Officer. Wander will begin working immediately with Grove on the transition prior to him becoming CEO on March 31, 2020, two months before Wander’s May 31, 2020 retirement date. Grove has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer effective immediately in advance of the leadership transition. Prior to being named Senior Vice President of Insurance Operations at BETA in February 2018, Grove held the position of Vice President of Underwriting and Client Services.
Informatica® [REDWOOD CITY,CA] announced that its Board of Directors has named Amit Walia Chief Executive Officer. Amit succeeds Anil Chakravarthy, who is stepping down from his role as CEO to pursue other professional opportunities. Walia joined the company in 2013 and most recently served as Informatica’s President of Products and Marketing. Prior to joining Informatica, Walia worked in various leadership positions at Symantec, Intuit, and McKinsey & Company, and also spent the earlier part of his career working for Tata Group and Infosys Technologies in India.
Imagine Learning [PROVO, UT] announced that Jeremy Cowdrey has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer. Cowdrey was most recently President of Imagine Learning, having joined the organization in 2006, serving in prior positions of Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing and as Regional Partnership Director.
Docs Who Care [OLATHE, KS] announced the appointment of Graham Morsch as CEO. Gary Morsch, Docs Who Care’s founder, will step back from his role as CEO and become Chairman. Graham Morsch joined Docs Who Care in January 2015 as Accounting Manager and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in September 2016.
The Phoenix Symphony [PHOENIX, AZ] announced that the has selected Suzanne Wilson as the new President and Chief Executive Officer. Wilson will succeed Jim Ward, who led The Phoenix Symphony in the same position since 2011. Ward is retiring from the Symphony to pursue work in the private sector. Wilson previously served as the Executive Director of the Midori Foundation, and also served as Chief of Staff for the New England Conservatory in Boston. Previously, Wilson worked as Director of the Office of External Affairs and Partnerships for the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, as well as Vice President of Education and Community Engagement for the Celebrity Series of Boston.
PinnacleCare [Baltimore, MA] announced that it has selected Miles Varn to be CEO, and James Mead to the new position of vice chairman and lead director. Varn served as PinnacleCare’s chief medical officer for 14 years. Prior to being CMO, Varn spent 15 years at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Mead served as CEO of PinnacleCare for three years and was a member of the board of directors for six years.
