Verge Health [CHARLESTON, SC] announced that Connie Moser has been named Chief Executive Officer of Verge Health and member of the Board of Directors. For the past four years Moser has served as Verge’s chief operating officer. Former CEO Mark Crockett, who has made the decision to step down.
Schafer Condon Carter [CHICAGO] announced Richard McDonald has joined the agency as Chief Executive Officer. McDonald replaces David Selby, who has been promoted to Co-Chairman and Chief Product Officer. McDonald joins SCC after seven years at Epsilon Agency, where he was promoted to President in 2016 from SVP Strategy & Growth.
Bioclinica [PRINCETON, NJ] announced that David Herron, President and Chief Executive Officer, will be leaving the company to pursue other interests. Euan Menzies, the Chairman of Bioclinica’s Board of Directors, will assume the role of Executive Chairman and interim Chief Executive Officer. Herron will remain with the Company in an advisory capacity until the end of January 2020.
Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines [DES MOINES, IA] announced that it has named Kristina K. Williams president and chief executive. Mike Wilson, the current president and CEO, will serve as an advisor and help Williams successfully transition to her new role before his retirement on February 7, 2020. Currently, Williams is the chief operating officer at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh, a position she has held since 2011. Williams joined FHLB Pittsburgh in 2004 as the chief accounting officer and has held a number of executive positions since that time. Prior to joining FHLB Pittsburgh, Williams served as chief financial officer of Wholesale Banking for PNC Financial Services Group.
Basic Energy Services, Inc. [FORT WORTH, TX] (OTCQX: BASX) announced the appointment of Keith L. Schilling as President, Chief Executive Officer and director, effective January 2, 2020. Schilling is replacing T.M. “Roe” Patterson in connection with his voluntary resignation. Prior to joining the Company, Schilling was employed by Baker Hughes Company, where he served as President of Baker Hughes Canada since November 2018 and as Director, Sales and Commercial from July 2017 until November 2018. From October 2016 until June 2017, Schilling served as President – Surface for the North America Region. Prior to his work for Baker Hughes Company and its affiliates, Schilling served as Senior Vice President for TETRA Technologies, Inc. from December 2014 until October 2016.
BJ’s Wholesale Club [WESTBOROUGH, MA] (NYSE: BJ) named Christopher J. Baldwin Executive Chairman. The company also named Lee Delaney to succeed Baldwin as Chief Executive Officer. The changes are effective Feb. 2, 2020. Delaney joined BJ’s in 2016 as Executive Vice President, Chief Growth Officer. Prior to joining BJ’s, Delaney was a partner in the Boston office of Bain & Company.
University Hospitals Health System [CLEVELAND, OH] announced the appointment of Cliff A. Megerian to succeed Thomas F. Zenty III as the Chief Executive Officer. Zenty announced on Oct. 29 of this year his intention to step down as CEO in January 2021 after nearly 18 years in the position. During the interim period, Megerian will serve as President, University Hospitals Health System.
Cloud 9 Software [KENNESAW, GA] announced the hiring of Mike Ressel as the new Chief Executive Officer. Cloud 9 Software founder Ken Swinney will continue as the new Senior Vice President of Strategy. Previously Ressel held the position of COO at a privately held Saas company.
Henry Ford Medical Group [DETROIT, MI] has selected its own Steven N. Kalkanis to be the Chief Executive Officer, effective Jan. 1, 2020, succeeding William A. Conway who is stepping down. Additionally, Kalkanis will also serve as Henry Ford’s Senior Vice President and Chief Academic Officer. Kalkanis joined Henry Ford in 2004 and is currently the Chair of the health system’s Department of Neurosurgery. He is also the Medical Director of the Henry Ford Cancer Institute.
Tellabs Access LLC [DALLAS, TX] announced that Rich Schroder has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer, replacing former President and Chief Executive Officer, Jim Norrod, starting January 1, 2020. Schroder has held numerous positions within Tellabs and most recently served as Chief Operating Officer.
Bettcher Industries, Inc. [BIRMINGHAM, OH] announced that Tim Swanson has joined Bettcher as its Chief Executive Officer. Swanson has also become a member of Bettcher’s Board of Directors. Swanson will succeed Don Esch, who is retiring at the end of the year after having served as Bettcher’s CEO since October of 2014. Esch will continue to serve as a member of Bettcher’s Board of Directors. Swanson comes to Bettcher from the Barnes Group where he served as President of the global Engineered Components business. Prior to that, Swanson spent 10 years at Illinois Tool Works serving in General Management roles within the Global Automotive and Welding segments.
Joslin Diabetes Center [BOSTON, MA] announced that Roberta Herman has been selected as the Center’s new President and Chief Executive Officer effective January 9, 2020. Herman replaces Peter Amenta who announced earlier this fall that he would be stepping down at the end of this year, after ten years with Joslin, including more than four years as President and CEO. Herman comes to Joslin after nearly four years as Executive Director of the Group Insurance Commission. Previous to her service at GIC, Herman was the Chief Medical Officer and then Chief Operating Officer for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. Before that, Herman had been Chief of Internal Medicine at Harvard Community Health Plan’s Cambridge Center. Prior to being selected as President and CEO, Herman served as a Trustee of Joslin Diabetes Center for six years. Eliot Lurier Joslin’s CFO/COO, will serve as Interim President and CEO in the short time prior to Herman’s start date.
Novan, Inc. [MORRISVILLE, NC] (Nasdaq:NOVN) announced that Paula Brown Stafford, currently President and Chief Operating Officer, will succeed G. Kelly Martin as its Chief Executive Officer, effective February 2, 2020, and she will remain a member of the Novan Board of Directors. Stafford joined Novan as the Chief Development Officer in March 2017 before being promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer in January 2019. Prior to Novan, Stafford was President of Clinical Development at Quintiles.
Voxel8 [SOMERVILLE, MA] announced the appointment of Friedrich (Fred) von Gottberg as President and Chief Executive Officer and to the Board of Directors. Travis Busbee, Co-founder and previous CEO will assume the full-time role of Chief Technology Officer. Prior to joining Voxel8, von Gottberg was with Cabot Corporation for over 20 years. His most recent roles included Senior Vice President and President, Purification Solutions, Vice President and GM New Business Segments, and Vice President and Global Director of R&D.
Immunitas Therapeutics [CAMBRIDGE, MA] announced it has appointed Jeffrey M. Goldberg as Chief Executive Officer and Director, succeeding founding CEO, Christoph Westphal, who assumes the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors. Goldberg joins Immunitas from Akcea Therapeutics, where he was Chief Operating Officer from the time of its formation in January 2015. Previously Goldberg was VP of Business Operations at Proteostasis Therapeutics, Inc. and also spent more than 11 years in positions of increasing responsibility with Genzyme and Sanofi.
FerGene [CAMBRIDGE, MA] announced the appointment of David Meek as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 14, 2020. Most recently, Meek has served as CEO of Ipsen. In addition to his time as CEO of Ipsen, Meek’s prior leadership roles have included serving as Executive Vice President & President of Oncology at Baxalta from 2014 – 2016. He was also Chief Commercial Officer of Endocyte from 2012 – 2014. Prior to that, Meek served in various executive leadership roles at Novartis Pharma and Novartis Oncology after beginning his career at Johnson & Johnson and Janssen from 1989 – 2004.
Acendre [ARLINGTON, VA] announced Otto Berkes has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer. Berkes has been an independent director for Acendre and succeeds Mike Giuffrida, founder of Acendre who will remain on the company’s Board of Directors. Most recently Berkes served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at CA Technologies. Prior to CA, Berkes was the Executive Vice President and CTO for HBO. Earlier in his career, Berkes co-founded Xbox with three colleagues and was promoted to Microsoft Partner for his pioneering work.
OnSolve [ORMOND BEACH, FL] announced that it has appointed Mark Herrington as Chief Executive Officer. Herrington most recently served as an Operating Executive at Marlin Equity Partners, in addition to serving as Executive Chairman of various private equity-backed firms including Challenger Inc., FrontStream, and Aprimo. Previously, Herrington served as CEO of Shoutlet, and was President of multiple businesses within First Data, and EVP of Americas for i2 Technologies.
BAE Systems, Inc. [ARLINGTON, VA] announced that Tom Arseneault will become president and chief executive officer of BAE Systems, Inc., effective April 1, 2020. Having served as chief executive officer since 2014, Jerry DeMuro will transition to a new role as executive vice president of Strategic Initiatives and continue to serve on the U.S. organization’s Board of Directors. Arseneault is currently president and COO of BAE Systems, Inc. This role is the most recent in his 22-year tenure with BAE Systems, having previously held other senior leadership positions at the company, including president of the Electronic Systems sector and executive vice president of BAE Systems’ Product Sectors.
Palo Alto Health Sciences, Inc. [KIRKLAND, WA] announced that it appointed Dean Sawyer as President and Chief Executive Officer. Sawyer’s notable roles include the Co-Founder and CEO of Sentrian, Chief Revenue Officer at Aptus Health and Vice President of Sales at Allscripts.
Stratasys Ltd. [EDEN PRAIRIE, MN] (NASDAQ: SSYS) announced the appointment of Yoav Zeif as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective Feb. 18, 2020. Current Interim CEO Elchanan (Elan) Jaglom will continue in his role as Chairman. Zeif was President of the Americas Division, Head of Product Offering and Chief Commercial Officer at Netafim from 2013 to 2018. Prior to that, Zeif was Senior Vice President of Products and Marketing at Makhteshim.
Hibbett Sports, Inc. [BIRMINGHAM, AL] (NASDAQ/GS: HIBB) announced that Michael E. Longo has been named President and Chief Executive Officer. Effective December 16, 2019, Longo will succeed Jeff Rosenthal, who announced his planned retirement in March of 2019. In addition, effective with his appointment as CEO, Longo will replace Mr. Rosenthal on the Company’s Board of Directors. Longo served as Chief Executive Officer for Memphis-based City Gear, LLC. Prior to City Gear, Longo worked in positions of increasing leadership roles with AutoZone, Inc. starting as a Vice President in 1996 to Executive Vice President in 2005.
Dynavax Technologies Corporation [EMERYVILLE, CA] (NASDAQ: DVAX) announced that Ryan Spencer has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and to the Board of Directors. Spencer, who joined Dynavax in 2006, has held roles of increasing responsibility, building from a foundation in corporate finance to business strategy and investor relations, and culminating in his role as Senior Vice President, Commercial. Since May of 2019, Spencer has served as the Company’s interim co-President.
Braun Medical Inc. [BETHLEHEM, PA] announced the appointment of Jean-Claude Dubacher as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2020. Dubacher joined B. Braun on August 1, 2019as President. Before joining B. Braun, Dubacher led commercial operations for the Surgical Ophthalmology Division of Johnson & Johnson in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
GrowPath [DURHAM, NC] announced that Tara Williams, the company’s Vice President of Customer Success, has been named as the Chief Executive Officer. James Farrin, who had been serving as Chief Executive Officer moves into an advisory capacity for the company.
Elevate Semiconductor [SAN DIEGO, CA] announced that it has appointed David J. Kenyon as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors. Kenyon previously held the position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Patrick Sullivan, founder and CEO, has moved into the CTO role.
PSB [NEW YORK] announced that Peter Horst has joined the firm as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 6th. For the past three years, Horst has been CEO of CMO, Inc., serving as a consultant, keynote speaker and marketing coach. Before that, Horst was Chief Marketing Officer at The Hershey Company. Prior to that role, Horst spent 12 years with Capital One, including as SVP of Brand Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Capital One Bank. Before Capital One, Horst was CMO at TruSecure Corporation. Earlier in his career, he was CMO of TD Ameritrade and Director of Marketing for U.S. West.
Merus N.V. [CAMBRIDGE, MA] (Nasdaq: MRUS) announced that Ton Logtenberg will step down as CEO, President, Principal Financial Officer and Director of the Company on December 31, 2019. The Board of Directors has nominated Sven (Bill) Ante Lundberg, currently a non-executive director on the Merus board, to succeed Logtenberg as CEO, President and Principal Financial Officer of Merus. Lundberg joined Merus’ Board of Directors in June 2019. Most recently, Lundberg served as Chief Scientific Officer at CRISPR Therapeutics and as Head of Translational Medicine at Alexion Pharmaceuticals.
TravelCenters of America Inc. [WESTLAKE, OH] (Nasdaq: TA) announced that Jonathan M. Pertchik has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Pertchik succeeds Andrew J. Rebholz, who will continue to advise the company through June 30, 2020. In his most recent role, Pertchik served as CEO of Intown Suites. Prior to this, Pertchik was CEO of ST Residential.
Total Resource Management [ALEXANDRIA, VA] announces that Garner Bennett, the company’s CEO and member of its Board of Directors, has decided to retire effective November 25, 2019. Don Omura has been appointed the company’s new CEO. Omura’s previously held positions at TRM include President, Chief Operations Officer, and Executive Vice President of Pacific Operations. Prior to joining TRM, in 1999, Omura was the Director of Information Technology for the Navy Public Works Center in Hawaii.
Fluent.ai [MONTREAL] announced the addition of Probal Lala as its permanent CEO. Prior to this position, Lala has been an active Angel Investor for the past 12 years as Chair of the Maple Leaf Angels Corporation. Lala has held a range of diverse senior executive roles, including CEO of About Communications, Vice President Sales at Alcatel-Lucent Canada, CEO of AirRoamer, Vice President and General Manager Internet Operations at Bell Canada, and General Manager and Chief Technology Officer at Stentor Services Inc.
MaxLite [WEST CALDWELL, NJ] announced the promotion of Spencer Bolgard to chief executive officer and president, effective January 1, 2020. Bolgard joined MaxLite in December 2018 as president and chief operating officer. Bolgard previously served six years as general manager of the Phoenix Contact’s U.S. subsidiary, and vice president of its device connector business in the Americas and has held progressively senior positions with Phoenix Contact, Cooper Industries, Generation Brands – Sea Gull Lighting/Monte Carlo Fans, Affiliated Distributors, Motorola, Leviton and GE.
Swiftpage [SCOTTSDALE, AZ] announced the appointment of the company’s new president and CEO, Steve Oriola. Oriola has served as CEO of three SaaS based companies, including Pipedrive. Outgoing CEO and President, H. John Oechsle will continue to be involved with Swiftpage moving forward as a board member and shareholder in the company.
The American Academy of Neurology [MINNEAPOLIS, MN] has selected Mary Post as its next Chief Executive Officer. Post, a former Deputy Executive Director of the AAN, will return to the AAN to succeed current AAN CEO Catherine M. Rydell who will retire in May 2020 after more than 21 years as CEO. Post currently serves as Executive Director of the American Board of Anesthesiology. Prior to joining the ABA, Post was a Deputy Executive Director for the American Academy of Neurology, where she served for 16 years in numerous leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer and a dual role of Executive Director of the United Council of Neurologic Subspecialties. Post will start her new role as CEO in the spring of 2020.
FMC Corporation [PHILADELPHIA, PA] (NYSE: FMC) announced that it has elected Mark Douglas as president and chief executive officer of FMC, effective June 1, 2020. Pierre Brondeau will continue to serve as chairman and CEO through May 31, 2020, at which time he will become executive chairman and remain a member of the Board of Directors. Douglas has served as president and chief operating officer of FMC since June 2018. Douglas joined FMC in March 2010 as vice president, Global Operations and International Development, and was named president of the Industrial Chemicals Group in 2011. In October 2012, Douglas was named president of the Agricultural Solutions business. Douglas joined FMC from The Dow Chemical Company where he was vice president, president Asia, Dow Advanced Materials. Prior to Dow, Douglas was corporate vice president, president Asia, Rohm and Haas Company.
Green Dot Corporation [PASADENA, CA] (NYSE: GDOT) announced the retirement of Green Dot CEO and Founder, Steve Streit. Streit will also retire from Green Dot’s Holding Company Board and as Chairman of the Green Dot Bank board. Streit will transition to the role of Chief Innovation Officer. William I. Jacobs, will serve as interim Chief Executive Officer. Jacobs sits on the Board of Directors of Global Payments, Inc. having served as Chairman from June 2014 until September of 2019. Jacobs served as Lead Independent Director of that company from 2002 until 2014. Prior to joining Global Payments, Jacobs served as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of The New Power Company. From 1995 to 2000, Jacobs served in various senior roles at MasterCard International. Prior to MasterCard, Jacobs served as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of Financial Security Assurance, Inc., from 1984 to 1994.
The Guess Corporation Holding Co., Inc. [MIAMI] has appointed Mandy L. Hall vice-chairman and chief executive officer. Jerry D. Guess will remain deputy chairman and president. Hall most recently served as senior vice-president, general manager, controller, deputy secretary and deputy treasurer.
Lasko Operations [WEST CHESTER, PA] named Ed Vlacich CEO, effective December 9th. Vlacich was previously Region Head, Henkel Beauty Care North America and President National Brands at private equity-held Sun Products. Vlacich spent seven years at Novartis in various leadership roles including Global Chief Marketing Officer, CIBA Vision and GM Germany/Austria.
Smile Doctors, LLC [AUSTIN, TX] announced that John “J.” Hedrick has joined the company as its new CEO. Hedrick succeeds Scotte Hudsmith, co-founder and prior CEO, who will continue to serve as an active member of the Board as its new chairman. Hedrick most recently served as CEO of Pei Wei. Hedrick’s previous leadership positions include serving as Chief Operating Officer of NPC International.
USAA [SAN ANTONIO, TX] has selected Wayne Peacock to serve as USAA’s next President and CEO, effective Feb. 1, 2020. Peacock succeeds Stuart Parker who is retiring after more than 21 years of USAA service, including as the company’s chief executive since 2015. Peacock has been with USAA since 1988 and for the past three years, he has served as the President of the Property & Casualty Insurance Group.
NBCUniversal [PHILADELPHIA] announced that CEO Steve Burke will retire on August 14, 2020. Effective January 1, 2020, Jeff Shell will become CEO of NBCUniversal. Prior to joining NBCUniversal, Shell served as President of Comcast Programming Group.
