Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc. [HOUSTON] (NASDAQ: GIFI) announced that the Company has appointed Richard W. Heo as President and Chief Executive Officer. Heo has also been appointed to serve as a Director of the Company. Heo will replace Kirk J. Meche, who has served as the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer since 2013. Most recently, Heo served as Senior Vice President of North, Central and South America for McDermott International, Inc. Heo previously served as Executive Vice President of Fabrication Services for Chicago Bridge & Iron N.V. (“CB&I”) and President of CB&I’s Engineered Products business unit. Prior to joining CB&I, he served in various senior leadership positions at KBR, Inc.
Diverse Biotech, Inc. [ORLANDO, FL], has announced that Stella Vnook has assumed the newly created Chief Executive Officer role. Vnook has held Senior Leadership roles at most recently Assertio Pharma, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Catalent, and Merck. Vnook began her career in Research and Development in the Emergency Department at Temple University Hospital, and later continued that work with oncology specialty interest at Temple/ Fox Chase Cancer Center as a pharmacist.
Ares Commercial Real Estate Corporation [NEW YORK] (NYSE: ACRE) announced that it has appointed Bryan Donohoe as Chief Executive Officer, effective December 5, 2019. Donohoe has also been named Partner in the Ares Real Estate Group and Head of Real Estate Debt. Donohoe succeeds Jamie Henderson who will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer on December 5, 2019. Henderson will remain with Ares Management until the end of 2019 and he will continue as a Board Director of ACRE. Most recently, Donohoe was a Managing Director for Commercial Real Estate Debt in AllianceBernstein’s Real Estate Investment Group. Donohoe was also a senior professional at Ranieri Real Estate Partners and formerly spent 10 years at Deutsche Bank.
Crimson Wine Group, Ltd. [NAPA, CA] (OTCQB: CWGL) announced that Jennifer Locke has been appointed chief executive officer, effective December 2, 2019. Locke succeeds Patrick DeLong, who left Crimson earlier this year after serving as CEO since 2014. Locke most recently was senior vice president of Treasury Wine Estates.
TransEnterix, Inc. [RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC] (NYSE American: TRXC) announced that the Company has appointed Anthony Fernando, the Company’s current Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer, as President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. Fernando succeeds Todd Pope who is stepping down from his positions as President and Chief Executive Officer. Fernando joined TransEnterix in 2015 as the Vice President of International Development, was promoted to Chief Technology Officer in 2016 and expanded his role to include Chief Operating Officer in 2017. Prior to TransEnterix, Fernando served as Vice President of Innovation and Technology within the International Group at Stryker Corporation. Before joining Stryker Fernando held positions at Becton Dickinson & Company as Director, R&D Devices & Global Health, Greater Asia; PerkinElmer Inc. as Director, R&D and CoE Leader in Asia; and Varian, Inc. as Director of Operations/General Manager of the Pharmaceutical Products business unit.
GEON Performance Solutions [AVON LAKE, OH] announced the appointment of Tracy Garrison as the Company’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 2020. Garrison will assume the role held by interim CEO, David Mezzanotte, a Director of SK Capital Partners. Mezzanotte will remain closely involved to support a successful transition and will continue to serve as a member of the Company’s Board of Directors. Garrison comes to GEON having most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Hexpol Compounding Americas. Previously, Garrison spent five years at Rhein Chemie Corporation where he led their commercial organization as a Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Blaze Pizza [LOS ANGELES] announced the promotion of Mandy Shaw to President and Chief Executive Officer. Shaw has been with Los Angeles-based Blaze Pizza since 2018 as its Chief Financial Officer and has also served as Interim CEO since August 2019. Shaw previously worked in a number of roles at Bloomin’ Brands for over 12 years, including serving as Chief Information Officer and Chief Accounting Officer.
HCI College [WEST PALM BEACH, FL] announced that Pedro C. De Guzman has been named President and Chief Executive Officer. In connection with De Guzman joining HCI College, co-CEOs, Steve Hart and Larry Brown have assumed the positions of co-chairmen of the college. Most recently, De Guzman served as President and Chief Executive Officer for Southern Technical College, and prior to that, De Guzman served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Florida Career College.
WISErg Corporation [REDMOND, WA] announced the appointment of Andy Thomas as Chief Executive Officer. Thomas joins WISErg from his role as Global General Manager of Innovation and Strategy, and President of Nuseed Americas.
True Religion Apparel, Inc. [MANHATTAN BEACH, CA] announced that it has appointed Michael Buckley as its new Chief Executive Officer. Buckley was previously President of True Religion Apparel from 2006 to 2010. Buckley most recently was Chief Executive Officer of Differential Brands Group. Prior to Differential, from 2011-2016 Buckley was Chief Executive Officer of Robert Graham Designs until its sale to Differential Brands Group for $180 million.
Lilis Energy, Inc. [FORT WORTH, TX] (NYSE American: LLEX) announced that Joseph C. Daches has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Daches, who joined Lilis Energy in 2016, has over 25 years of experience and expertise in directing strategy and finance in primarily small and mid-size oil and gas companies.
Abbott [ABBOTT PARK, IL] (NYSE: ABT) announced that Miles D. White will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer on March 31, 2020, after a remarkable 21-year tenure. He will remain Executive Chairman of the Board. The Board has unanimously appointed Robert B. Ford, a 23-year Abbott veteran, to succeed White as CEO. Ford currently serves as President and Chief Operating Officer and has been elected to the Board. Ford originally joined Abbott in the Company’s Diabetes Care business in 1996. Ford was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer in October 2018.
Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc. [PRINCETON, NJ] announced that effective January 1, 2020, its long-time President and CEO William H. Carson will retire from the company’s operational leadership. Carson will transition to Chairman of the OPDC Board of Directors.
Eastside Distilling, Inc. [PORTLAND, OR] (NASDAQ: EAST) announced the appointment of Lawrence Firestone as the Company’s new Chief Executive Officer. Firestone joined Eastside’s Board in September 2019 and will continue to serve as a director of the Company. Firestone most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Akonni Biosystems, and as Chairman of FirePower Technology. Firestone has served as Chief Executive Officer of Qualstar Corporation, Chief Financial Officer of Advanced Energy Industries, and Chief Financial Officer of Applied Films Corporation.
Provation Medical, Inc. [MINNEAPOLIS, MN & SANTA MONICA, CA] announced that Daniel Hamburger has joined Provation as CEO. Former CEO Dave Del Toro will continue with the Company in the role of Executive Board Member following his successful 20-year career at Provation. Most recently, Hamburger served as CEO of Renaissance Learning, Inc.. He also previously served as CEO of Adtalem Global Education. Hamburger began his executive career as President of eCommerce for Grainger.
New Door Ventures [SAN FRANCISCO] announced the appointment of Omar Butler as the organization’s next chief executive officer, effective Nov. 18. Butler currently serves as the Bay Area Regional Executive Director for College Track and will succeed Tess Reynolds, who held the position for 16 years.
AMS [SAN FRANCISCO] announced the appointment of Seyed Madaeni as the company’s chief executive officer today, replacing founder Susan Kennedy who was named chairman of the board of directors. Kennedy founded the company in 2014 and has served as chief executive and director of the company for 5 years. Madaeni joined AMS in January of 2018 and has served as chief product officer. Before joining AMS, Madaeni guided electricity market participation at Tesla. Madaeni previously held Principal positions at SolarCity and Pacific Gas & Electric.
Acrolinx [BERLIN & WALTHAM, MA] announced that it has named Volker Smid as CEO. Smid was most recently the CEO at Searchmetrics. During his career, Smid held leadership positions at Holtzbrinck Publishing Group, Hewlett-Packard GmbH, BITKOM, Novell Inc., Parametric Technology (PTC), and POET Inc.
