Bulletproof 360, Inc. [SEATTLE, WA] announced that Larry Bodner joined the company in the role of Chief Executive Officer. Bodner will also serve as a member of the board of directors. Bodner most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer for Sovos Brands, a portfolio of food and beverage brands. Bodner has served on the Board of Directors of Hostess Brands since November 2016 and has also served on the Board of Hearthside Foods. Prior to his time with Sovos Brands, Bodner was Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Big Heart Pet Brands.
Culp, Inc. [HIGH POINT, NC] (NYSE: CULP) announced that it has selected Robert G. (Iv) Culp, IV, currently the company’s president, chief operating officer and president of Culp Home Fashions, to become chief executive officer, effective January 1, 2020. At that time, Franklin N. Saxon, Culp’s current chairman and chief executive officer, will assume the new role of executive chairman. Culp has been employed by the company since 1998 and has served in various capacities during his tenure, including as president of Culp Home Fashions, the company’s mattress fabrics division, since 2004. Culp became the company’s chief operating officer in 2018 and president in 2019.
API Technologies Corp. [MARLBOROUGH, MA] announced that CEO Bob Tavares is leaving the Company. The Board of Directors announced Terrence Hahn as API Technologies’ Chief Executive Officer. Hahn was most recently CEO of Axalta Coating Systems. Previously, Hahn was with Air Products & Chemicals for 19 years in a number of senior leadership roles in Taiwan, Malaysia, Canada and the US. Hahn subsequently joined Honeywell where he served as President and CEO of Home and Building Technologies, President and CEO of Transportation Systems, and Vice President and General Manager of Performance Materials and Technologies/Fluorine Products.
Wells Fargo & Company [SAN FRANCISCO] (NYSE: WFC) announced that it has named Charles W. Scharf as the company’s chief executive officer and president, and a member of the Board of Directors, effective October 21. Most recently. Scharf was chairman and CEO of Bank of New York Mellon. Prior to his role at BNY Mellon, Charlie was CEO of Visa, Inc. Before joining Visa, Scharf was managing director of One Equity Partners, the private investment arm of JP Morgan Chase & Co. Scharf also served as Chief Executive Officer of Retail Financial Services at JP Morgan Chase and Chief Executive Officer of the retail division of Bank One Corp. Scharf has been CFO of Bank One Corp., CFO of the Global Corporate and Investment Bank division at Citigroup, and CFO of Salomon Smith Barney.
Laredo Petroleum, Inc. [TULSA, OK] (NYSE: LPI) announced that Jason Pigott will succeed Randy A. Foutch as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer, 2019. Pigott will continue in his role as President. Foutch will remain Chairman of Laredo’s Board of Directors but will not stand for re-election to the Board.
Limetree Bay Ventures [ST. CROIX, U.S. Virgin Islands] announced the promotion of Brian Lever to president and chief executive officer. Prior to joining Limetree Bay in August 2018, Lever held senior roles at Conoco Phillips and Hess Corporation. Most recently, Lever has overseen the refinery restart planning, organizational development, and pre-commissioning efforts.
Markstein [BIRMINGHAM, AL] announced that Keelie Segars has been named chief executive officer. Prior to joining Markstein, Segars spent nearly 20 years in advertising, most recently as vice president, group account director for a regional advertising agency.
Trillium Therapeutics Inc. [TORONTO] (NASDAQ: TRIL) announced the appointment of Jan Skvarka as President and Chief Executive Officer. Skvarka has also been appointed to the Board of Directors of the company. Before joining Trillium, Skvarka was President and Chief Executive Officer of Tal Medical, from 2014 until 2018. Prior to that he had a long career from 1999 to 2013 as a healthcare consultant at Bain & Company, Boston.
Lighter Capital [SEATTLE] announced that it has appointed Thor Culverhouse as its CEO. Culverhouse succeeds BJ Lackland, who will shift into an advisory role. Culverhouse was most recently the CEO of Skytap. Previous to Skytap, Culverhouse was the CEO and Founder of willbeHired (acquired by TriNet), CEO at Stratavia (acquired by HP), and held senior management roles at HP, IBM, Interwoven, and SeeBeyond.
LegalZoom [GLENDALE, CA] announced that Daniel Wernikoff will join the company as CEO, succeeding John Suh, who has decided to transition after 12 years as CEO and 14 years on the company’s board of directors. Wernikoff joins LegalZoom from Intuit, where for eight years he held various general manager roles including in its two largest business units, the Small Business Group and the Consumer Group.
Wild Sky Media [NEW YORK] has named Emily Smith as its Chief Executive Officer. Since joining Wild Sky Media in 2017, Smith has played a key role – first as an SVP and later as President – in spearheading the company through a significant transitional period. Prior to joining Wild Sky Media, Smith served as Chief Growth Officer, President of Media at Brit + Co.
FlexShopper, Inc. [BOCA RATON, FL] (Nasdaq: FPAY) announced the appointment of Richard House Jr. as Chief Executive Officer, effective October 7, 2019. Current CEO and Company founder Brad Bernstein will assume the position of President. Most recently House was the Chief Executive Officer of Veta Finance, Ltd.
Noven Pharmaceuticals, Inc. [MIAMI, FL & JERSEY CITY, NJ] announced its decision to appoint Naruhito Higo as Chief Executive Office, succeeding Jeff Mihm who has tendered his resignation. Higo is Chairman of Noven’s Board of Directors, has been with Hisamitsu since 1985, and a member of Hisamitsu’s Board of Directors since 2012. From 2007 to 2017, he served as the Head of Research and Development at Hisamitsu.
Horizon Global Corporation [TROY, MI] (NYSE: HZN) announced that the Company has appointed Terrence G. Gohl as Chief Executive Officer, following Carl Bizon’s resignation from his executive positions and as a director. Prior to joining Horizon Global, Gohl served as Chief Operating Officer at International Automotive Components. Prior to his role at IAC, Gohl served as President and CEO of Key Plastics, LLC. Gohl has previously held executive positions with multiple Tier 1 automotive suppliers, including Visteon Corporation, Tower Automotive and Lear Corporation.
Omega Therpeutics [CAMBRIDGE, MA] announced that Mahesh Karande has been appointed as the company’s President, CEO and member of the Board of Directors. Karande was the former President and CEO of Macrolide Pharmaceuticals and a long-time Novartis AG executive where he held positions of increasing responsibility running large businesses in the U.S. and internationally.
Elara Caring [ADDISON, TX] announced the appointment of Scott Powers as Chief Executive Officer. Powers replaces G. Scott Herman as CEO. Herman is leaving the business to pursue other opportunities. Powers was most recently the President and Chief Operating Officer at Alignment Healthcare. Powers has also served in senior executive roles at Cambia Health Solutions, Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, Alvarez & Marsal, and Intel Corporation.
BNY Mellon [NEW YORK] (NYSE: BK) announced that Thomas P. (Todd) Gibbons, a 30-year veteran of the company, has been appointed as interim Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board. Gibbons succeeds Charles W. Scharf, who informed the Board of his decision to step down from his CEO and Board roles. Gibbons served for nine years as BNY Mellon’s Chief Financial Officer and most recently as Vice Chairman and CEO of Clearing, Markets and Client Management. Since 2017, Gibbons has been a Vice Chairman of BNY Mellon and CEO of Clearing, Markets and Client Management.
Lift Brands [CHANHASSEN, MN] announced Weldon Spangler as the new CEO. Most recently, Spangler served as the President and CEO of Papa Murphy’s. Previously, Spangler spent seven years with Dunkin’ Brands Group in leadership roles that included as Senior Vice President/GM of Baskin Robbins.
LRN Corporation [NEW YORK] announced the appointment of Matt Blumberg as its Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining LRN, Blumberg was Chairman and CEO of Return Path, Inc., the company he founded in 1999, until its sale to Validity, Inc. in 2019. Prior to founding Return Path, Blumberg was General Manager of the Internet division of MovieFone, Inc.
Buff City Soap [MEMPHIS, TN] has appointed Justin Delaney as the brand’s new Chief Executive Officer. Delaney succeeds the brand’s co-founder, Brad Kellum, who will still be involved with the business, with a focus on product and retail experience. Delaney founded Menguin, an online suit and tuxedo rental company, after graduating from business school in 2013.
IDB Bank® [NEW YORK] announced it has named Ziv Biron its president and CEO. Biron currently serves as chief financial officer and Head of Planning Strategy and Finance Division at IDB’s Tel Aviv-based parent, Discount Bank. Biron succeeds Uri Levin, who has been promoted by Discount Bank’s Board of Directors to take on the position of CEO of Discount Bank in Israel.
Claremont Lincoln University [CLAREMONT, CA] appointed Tony Digiovanni as its third President and CEO. Digiovanni has served as CLU’s Interim CEO since January of this year. Digiovanni has been a Board Member of CLU since 2016. He last served as CEO of a venture-backed startup organization in higher education, Ameritas Educational Services.
WD Lab Grown Diamonds [WASHINGTON] has appointed Sue Rechner as CEO. Before serving as global president of Merrell, the largest division of Wolverine Worldwide, she served as president and CEO of private equity-owned Confluence Outdoor for 10 years. Prior to that, Rechner was president of Victorinox Swiss Army and CEO of Victorinox Swiss Army Watch.
Stack Overflow [NEW YORK] announced the appointment of Prashanth Chandrasekar as its new Chief Executive Officer. Joel Spolsky, Stack Overflow’s co-founder and outgoing CEO, will remain Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. Chandrasekar held multiple senior leadership roles at cloud services company Rackspace, most recently serving as Senior Vice President & General Manager of the company’s Cloud & Infrastructure Services portfolio of businesses. Previous to Rackspace, Chandrasekar worked at Barclays Investment Bank and Capgemini in various leadership, operations and strategic advisory roles.
Enbi Global, Inc. [SHELBYVILLE, IN & LEXINGTON, MA] announced the appointment of Christopher Miller as CEO. Interim Enbi CEO Tracy Streckenbach will continue to support the business as part of the Enbi Advisory Board. Miller has previously served as Vice President of the North America and APAC regions of Esko, a Danaher Company.
Pure Wellness Rooms [BUFFALO, NY] and announced that Balaji Krishnamurthy has been named Chief Executive Officer, effective September 9, 2019. Krishnamurthy joins Pure Wellness from Sabre, Inc., where he served as the Chief Strategy Officer for Sabre Hospitality Solutions. Prior to Sabre, Krishnamurthy served as Global Vice President of Corporate Strategy at Orbitz Worldwide from 2014 until 2015. He also served as Head of North America Sales Strategy & Operations at LinkedIn from 2013 until 2014.
Parley Pro [LOS ALTOS, CA] announced that it has appointed Olga V. Mack as President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson of the Board of Directors. Mack most recently served as Vice President of Strategy at Quantstamp.Mack previously worked at Visa, ClearSlide, Zoosk, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, and Yahoo.
Overstock.com, Inc. [SALT LAKE CITY, UT] (NASDAQ: OSTK) has appointed Jonathan Johnson Chief Executive Officer. Johnson had been serving as interim CEO since August 22, 2019. Johnson joined Overstock in 2002 as the company’s general counsel and has held various business and legal-related positions within the company, including five years as president, and later, as the acting CEO and executive vice chairman of the boards. He is also a member of Overstock.com’s board of directors and served as the chairman of Overstock’s board of directors from 2014 to 2017. Johnson continues to serve as president of Medici Ventures. Prior to joining Overstock, Johnson was with TenFold Corporation in various positions, including CFO and General Counsel.
Akcea Therapeutics, Inc. [BOSTON, MA] (NASDAQ: AKCA) announced that it has appointed Damien McDevitt a member of its board of directors, as interim chief executive officer. The company also announced the departure of chief executive officer, Sarah Boyce. McDevitt joins Akcea from Ionis Pharmaceuticals, where he was the chief business officer. Prior to joining Ionis, McDevitt served as senior vice president, corporate development at ACADIA Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining ACADIA, McDevitt was at GSK for more than two decades, where he served in various roles with increasing responsibility including vice president, head of business development for R&D Extended Therapy Areas, head of Worldwide Business Development Asia and head of GSK’s R&D West Coast Innovation Center.
The Professional Triathletes Organisation [LONDON & BOULDER, CO] announced that it has appointed Sam Renouf as its Chief Executive Officer. Renouf had previously been CEO of MOTIV Group and before that was part of the executive leadership team at ACTIVE Network, leading its global sports business. A former elite triathlete from Great Britain, Renouf also served as a commentator for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Cooper Machinery Services [HOUSTON,TX] announced the appointment of John Sargent as Chief Executive Officer. Most recently, Sargent served as Chief Executive Officer of Epic and spent the last two decades in various sales and operations roles.
