The National Safety Council [ITASCA, IL] announced the appointment of Lorraine M. Martin as president and CEO. Martin, who is co-founder and currently serving as president of the nonprofit Pegasus Springs Foundation, will be joining NSC on June 3, 2019. Previously, Martin was executive vice president and deputy of Rotary and Mission Systems at Lockheed Martin.
PlayPower, Inc. [HUNTERSVILLE, NC] announced that it appointed Bryan Yeazel to serve as its Chief Executive Officer and President. Yeazel will also join the Board of Directors. Yeazel succeeds Joe Copeland, who has decided to pursue the next phase of his career. Prior to joining PlayPower, Yeazel was the CEO of World and Main LLC, and Jones Stephens Corporation. Previously, Yeazel was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Stock Building Supply Holdings. Earlier in his career, Yeazel was an attorney with Hunton & Williams LLP and began his career at Capital One Financial.
Health Alliance Plan [DETROIT, MI] announced that President and CEO Teresa (Terri) Kline has announced plans to retire, effective June 30, 2019. Michael Genord, HAP’s current senior vice president and chief medical officer, will serve as interim president and CEO.
Sprott Resource Holdings Inc. [TORONTO, ON] (TSX: SRHI) announced that Michael Harrison has been appointed Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of SRHI. Harrison replaces Steve Yuzpe, who resigned to pursue other opportunities. Harrison joined SRHI in 2017 as Managing Director. Prior to joining SRHI, he held the position of President and CEO of Adriana Resources Inc., and Vice President, Corporate Development for Coeur Mining Inc. Harrison previously worked for Cormark Securities Inc. and National Bank Financial. Prior to earning an MBA, he worked internationally for BHP Billiton as a Project Geophysicist in the Exploration Division.
The Council of Autism Service Providers [BOSTON, MA] announced today that it has hired Lorri Unumb as its CEO. Lorri Unumb, an attorney, comes to CASP from Autism Speaks where she served for more than a decade as Vice-President for State Government Affairs.
Credit Union Leasing of America [SAN DIEGO, CA] announced John R. Thomas, Chief Executive Officer, will retire effective June 7, 2019. CULA Chairman Ken Sopp will take over as CEO upon Thomas’s departure. Sopp has served as CULA’s chairman since it was acquired by WFS in May 2017. Sopp also leads Midway Leasing, another WFS organization. Prior to joining the Hankey Group, Sopp owned and operated new vehicle dealerships in the Los Angeles area.
Ergotron [SAINT PAUL, MN] announced Chad Severson as the organization’s chief executive officer. Severson has been serving as CEO for the company since January 1 of this year. Severson, who most recently served as president of InSinkErator, succeeds Pete Segar in the role.
Spence Diamonds [DALLAS, TX] has named Veeral Rathod its new CEO. Rathod has been with the company since September 2018, when he joined as CMO. Prior to joining Spence, Rathod served as CEO at J. Hilburn, the world’s first custom men’s lifestyle brand, which he co-founded in 2007 and ran through April 2018.
The Coalition on Adult Basic Education [WASHINGTON, DC] has appointed as its first CEO Sharon Bonney, who has raised the organization’s profile and grown its membership to nearly 18 times what it was in 2009. Bonney began her career with COABE as a part-time administrator in 2009.
SentiAR [ST. LOUIS, MO] announced that Berk Tas has joined the company as CEO and president. Prior to joining SentiAR Tas led the development of a novel Transaortic Valve Replacement technology into CE Mark studies at HLT Medical.
Wave Computing® Inc. [CAMPBELL, CA] announced the appointment of Art Swift, the current president of Wave’s MIPS IP licensing business, as its new chief executive officer. Swift succeeds Derek Meyer, who will continue to serve the company in an advisory capacity. Prior to joining Wave Computing, Swift was the Vice Chair of the RISC-V Foundation’s Marketing Committee and VP of Marketing and Business Development for Esperanto Technologies. Swift is also President of the prpl Foundation. Swift’s prior experience also includes executive roles at CUPP Computing, MIPS Technologies, Unidym Corporation, Transmeta and Sun Microsystems.
Inagene Diagnostics Inc. [TORONTO, ON] announced the appointment of Nancy White as its Chief Executive Officer. White joined Inagene in January to help develop the sales and marketing strategy. Peter Brenders has taken on the role of Strategic Advisor to the Chairman of Inagene.
TransUnion [CHICAGO, IL] (NYSE: TRU) announced that the company confirmed the appointment of Christopher A. Cartwright to the position of President and CEO of TransUnion. James M. Peck remains on the TransUnion board of directors and will serve in a consultancy role until February 2020.
MKS Instruments, Inc. [ANDOVER, MA] (NASDAQ: MKSI) announced that Gerald G. Colella will retire as Chief Executive Officer January 1, 2020. The Board of Directors has elected John T.C. Lee, who currently serves as President and Chief Operating Officer, to succeed Colella as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2020. Colella will take on the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors, following the company’s annual meeting in May 2020. Lee joined MKS in 2007. Lee has served as MKS’ President and Chief Operating Officer since May 2018 after serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from November 2016 to May 2018, and as Group Vice President from October 2007 to November 2016. Lee previously served in various capacities in other technology industries, including semiconductor and solar as well as plasma processing research, at leading technology companies including Applied Materials, Lucent Technologies and AT&T Bell Labs.
Associated Industries of Massachusetts [BOSTON, MA] announced that John R. Regan was named as the next President and Chief Executive Officer. Regan succeeds AIM President and CEO Richard C. Lord, who is retiring after two decades leading the organization. Prior to his tenure at AIM, Reagan served as Chief Operations Officer for MassDevelopment. Before MassDevelopment, Regan was the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Office of Business Development.
CloudNine [HOUSTON, TX] announced that Tony Caputo has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer. Caputo has dedicated the past 20 years to the Legal and eDiscovery technology industry, holding key executive positions and leading growth at Recommind, CaseCentral, and most recently as CEO of Ominivere.
Accel Research Sites [DELAND, FL] announce the appointment of Matthew Maxwell to the role of Chief Executive Officer, effective April 19. Maxwell has over 12 years’ experience in clinical research leadership and most recently served as Chief Operating Officer for ARS. Prior to that, Maxwell served in support of clinical leadership at Cancer Treatment Centers of America and operations leadership at Atlanta Institute for Medical Research.Eagle Bancorp, Inc. [BETHESDA, MD] (NASDAQ: EGBN), the parent company of EagleBank, announced that interim President and Chief Executive Officer Susan G. Riel has been appointed permanent President and Chief Executive Officer of Eagle Bancorp and EagleBank. Riel has over 35 years of banking experience and joined EagleBank during its organization. Riel assumed the responsibility of Chief Operating Officer in 2006, and joined the Company’s Board of Directors in 2017 and the Bank’s Board in 2018.
Affiliated Managers Group, Inc. [WEST PALM BEACH, FL] (NYSE: AMG) announced the appointment of Jay C. Horgen as Chief Executive Officer at which time Nathaniel Dalton, current Chief Executive Officer, will become Senior Advisor to the Company and remain on the Board of Directors. Horgen will also continue to serve as President and will join the Board of Directors. Horgen is President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Horgen joined the Company in 2007 as Executive Vice President. Before joining AMG, Horgen founded Eastside Partner. Prior to that, Horgen focused on asset management as an investment banker from 1993 to 2005 in the Financial Institutions Groups of Merrill Lynch & Co., where he was a managing director, and Goldman, Sachs & Co.
Driven Deliveries, Inc. [SAN DIEGO, CA] announced that Christian Schenk has been named its new Chief Executive Officer, effective on May 3, 2019. Schenk succeeds Chris Boudreau, who served as CEO since Driven’s inception. Schenk has previously developed and sold two telematics companies; Telkar based in Canada and Elcon based in Europe. In 2010 Schenk joined XATA following the acquisition of Turnpike Global and Geologic.
Hondros College of Nursing [WESTERVILLE, OH] announced the appointment of Harry T. Wilkins as interim Chief Executive Officer. Wilkins, who has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Hondros College of Nursing since 2013, returns to the role of CEO, a position he previously held from December 2013 until his retirement in December 2015. Prior to originally becoming CEO of Hondros in December 2013, Wilkins served as the Chief Financial Officer of American Public Education, Inc. Wilkins’ career experience also includes financial and operational leadership as the former chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Strayer Education, Inc. Wilkins previously served in other financial, executive, and business development roles at the accounting firms Wooden & Benson and Deloitte & Touche.
CDx Diagnostics® [SUFFERN, NY] announced the appointment of Bill Huffnagle as Chief Executive Officer. Former CEO and Founder Mark Rutenberg will transition to the newly-created role of Chief Scientific Officer. Huffnagle brings significant medical device experience to CDx Diagnostics, having most recently served as president of Stryker’s Joint Replacement Division where he managed the global hip and knee business. During his tenure at Stryker, Huffnagle spearheaded the integration of Mako Surgical, the acquisition propelling Stryker to lead the world in orthopedic robotic-assisted surgery.
Applied BioSciences Corp. [LOS ANGELES, CA] (OTCQB: APPB) announced the appointment of Raymond W. Urbanski, the former business unit Chief Medical officer and senior director of oncology research and development with Pfizer Inc., as its Chief Executive Officer. Urbanski spent eight years with Pfizer and held several positions within the company which included medical director of diversified products, senior medical director of breast cancer products, senior medical director of oncology clinical R&D, and eventually Vice President/Chief Medical Officer of the Established Products Business Unit. In addition to his roles with Pfizer, Urbanski served as Chief Medical Officer of Mylan Inc., Chief Medical Officer of MannKind Corp., and Senior Director of US Medical Affairs for Aventis.
CohBar, Inc. [MENLO PARK, CA] (NASDAQ: CWBR) announced that it has appointed Steven B. Engle as its Chief Executive Officer. CohBar’s interim Chief Executive Officer Philippe Calais will continue to serve on the company’s Board, a position he has held since June 2018. Before joining CohBar, Engle served for seven years as CEO of Averigon Consulting. Previously, he served for four years as Chairman and CEO of XOMA Corporation. Prior to XOMA, Engle served for fourteen years as Chairman and CEO of La Jolla Pharmaceutical Company. Earlier, Engle also served as Vice President of Marketing for Cygnus, Inc. Engle is Chairman of the Board of Prescient Therapeutics Ltd. and also serves on the Boards of Author-it Software Corporation, and AROA Biosurgery Ltd.
Capsule Technologies, Inc. [ANDOVER, MA] announced it has appointed Hemant Goel as CEO. Goel most recently served as the President of Spok, Inc. Prior to joining Spok, Goel was Vice President, Clinical Solutions at Siemens Health Services, where he held worldwide development responsibilities for the IT solutions business.
Docker [SAN FRANCISCO, CA] announced that former Hortonworks Chief Executive Officer, Rob Bearden will be joining the company as CEO in early June. Bearden will also serve on Docker’s board of directors. Steve Singh, Docker’s CEO, will continue to serve as Docker’s Chairman. Rob was the Chief Operating Officer at both SpringSource and JBoss.
Avid Bioservices, Inc. [TUSTIN, CA] (NASDAQ: CDMO) announced that Richard (Rick) B. Hancock has been named interim president and chief executive officer. Hancock will also continue to serve on Avid’s board of directors. Hancock succeeds Roger J. Lias who has resigned from the company and its board of directors. Hancock most recently served as president and CEO of Althea Technologies, until the company’s acquisition by Ajinomoto Co., Inc. In addition to Althea, Hancock has held senior positions at therapeutics development companies The Immune Response Corporation, Genetics Institute and Hybritech Inc. Hancock currently serves as the chairman of the board and executive director of Argonaut Manufacturing Services, Inc.
AvYachts [FORT LAUDERDALE, FL] has named William C. Davies, Jr. as Chief Executive Officer. Davies comes to AvYachts from City National Bank, where he was the Director of Strategy. Prior to that, as the Corporate Banking Executive at City National Bank, Davies successfully managed a team of corporate relationship managers across that bank’s footprint.
AIG Life & Retirement [NEW YORK] a division of American International Group, Inc. announced the appointment of Terri Fiedler as President and Chief Executive Officer, AIG Financial Distributors. Fiedler succeeds Steve Maginn, who will become Vice Chairman, Partner Relations for Life & Retirement. Fiedler served as Executive Vice President, Strategic Accounts for AIG Financial Distributors for the last seven years. Prior to joining AIG, Fiedler was Senior Director, National Account Management with Invesco, and Manager, National Account Management with AIM Distributors.
Western Industries Plastic Products LLC [WINFIELD, KS] announced the appointment of Richard Haueter as Chief Executive Officer. Haueter previously served with DeltaTech Controls for seven years in increasingly senior leadership positions in the U.S. and internationally and was named CEO in 2012. Since 2018, Haueter was Senior Operations Executive for private equity-backed Armacell, LLC, manufacturer of a variety of foam products used in multiple industry applications.
