Hino Trucks [NOVI, MI] announced Shigehiro Matsuoka was appointed President & Chief Executive Officer of Hino North America effective February 1, 2019. Matsuoka succeeds Yoshinori Noguchi who will step down. Matsuoka joined Hino in 1981 and has held various overseas assignments in his 38-year career with Hino.
Hilltop Holdings Inc. [DALLAS, TX] (NYSE: HTH) announced Co-Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman Alan B. White is retiring, effective April 1, 2019. White will step down from Hilltop Holdings’ board of directors and his other leadership roles with Hilltop and PlainsCapital Bank. White founded Hilltop’s banking subsidiary, PlainsCapital Bank, in 1988 and has served as Co-CEO of Hilltop Holdings with President Jeremy B. Ford since September 2016. Ford will continue in his role as president and serve as the company’s sole CEO following White’s retirement. Jerry L. Schaffner will continue to lead PlainsCapital Bank as president and CEO.
AutoNation, Inc. [FORT LAUDERDALE, FL] (NYSE: AN) announced that the Company’s Board of Directors unanimously voted to appoint Carl Liebert as AutoNation’s new Chief Executive Officer and President, effective March 11, 2019. Liebert was also named to AutoNation’s Board of Directors, effective March 11, 2019. Liebert currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of USAA. Liebert also led the company’s Property & Casualty Insurance Company, Federal Savings Bank, Investment, Life and Real Estate companies. Liebert also served as Executive Vice President, Stores for The Home Depot.
Zillow Group, Inc. [SEATTLE, WA] (NASDAQ: Z) announced Rich Barton, who co-founded Zillow in 2005 and served as the company’s CEO until 2010, has been named chief executive officer. Barton has been executive chairman since stepping down as CEO. Co-founder and CEO Spencer Rascoff will remain on Zillow Group’s board of directors. Before Zillow, Barton founded Expedia within Microsoft in 1994 and successfully spun the company out as a public company in 1999. Barton served as president, CEO and board director of Expedia from 1999 until 2003. Barton also co-founded and served as non-executive chairman of Glassdoor from its 2007 creation through its acquisition in 2018.
Boingo Wireless [LOS ANGELES, CA] (NASDAQ: WIFI) announced that it has selected Mike Finley as chief executive officer. Finley will continue as a member of the board, where he has served since August 2013. Finley succeeds Boingo’s current CEO and chairman of the board Dave Hagan, who has announced his desire to retire after 17 years of service to the company. Hagan will continue to serve as a member of the board. Prior to his appointment as Boingo’s CEO, Finley spent nearly nine years at Qualcomm, most recently as president of North America and Australia.
Agari [FOSTER CITY, CA] announced that Agari’s Founder and Executive Chairman Patrick Peterson has been named Chief Executive Officer. Peterson replaces former CEO Ravi Khatod, who joined Agari in June of 2016.
Nihon Kohden [IRVINE, CA] announced the appointment of Eiichi Tanaka as its new president and CEO. Tanaka is taking over the helm of the organization from Yasuhiro Yoshitake, who led the organization through the 2019 realignment of U.S. leadership. Tanaka, who has been with Nihon Kohden since 1985, previously served as president of the company’s U.S. operations between 2003 and 2008. Since 2008, Tanaka has held a number of positions in the organization, including general manager of human resources, general affairs and consumables, president of Nihon Kohden Tomioka Corporation and general manager of the corporate strategy division.
Kesem [CHICAGO, IL] announced that effective April 3, 2019, Kim McCall will become the organization’s new CEO. McCall most recently served as Executive Director for Playworks New York and New Jersey. Prior to that, McCall held top fundraising posts at Happy Hearts Fund, Coalition for the Homeless, Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, the American Heart Association, and the American Cancer Society.
Motiv Power Systems [FOSTER CITY, CA] announced that its Chairman of the Board and Board member for more than two years, Matt O’Leary, has been appointed as CEO. Jim Castelaz, has assumed the role of CTO and will maintain a seat on Motiv’s board. O’Leary will continue to serve as interim Board Chairman. Before joining the Motiv board, O’Leary served in various capacities in his 38 years at Ford Motor Company, including, most recently holding the title of Vehicle Line Director – North America Trucks, SUVs, and Commercial Vehicles.
pSemi Corporation [SAN DIEGO, CA] announced that the company’s current VP of Product Marketing, Sumit Tomar, will succeed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jim Cable, effective July 1, 2019. Cable will continue as Chairman and Chief Technology Officer. Tomar joined pSemi Corporation in August of 2017 as the Vice President of Product Marketing.
MassChallenge [BOSTON, MA] announced it has named Siobhan Dullea as Chief Executive Officer. Dullea, who currently serves as MassChallenge’s Chief Operating Officer, will succeed MassChallenge founder John Harthorne, who will remain on the Board of Directors. Dullea has held C-level positions at leading-edge companies that support growing businesses, including The Grommet and C Space.
Voci Technologies [PITTSBURGH, PA] announced the appointment of Michael Coney as its CEO. Coney was previously the COO of Voci Technologies. Prior to joining Voci Technologies, Coney served as CEO of Unitrends and before that, directed sales, support and consulting services at large global enterprises, such as VERITAS Software, Sun Microsystems, and Monster.com.
Qnary [NEW YORK] announced Ray Carbonell has been promoted to CEO from Global President. Carbonell replaces Qnary Founder Bant Breen, who in early January relinquished the CEO role while continuing to serve as Chairman. Carbonell joined Qnary in 2012 as its first employee. In 2015, Carbonell was named EVP Account Solutions, and was promoted to his most recent position as Global President in 2017.
Icelandic Provisions [NEW YORK, and REYKJAVIK] has announced that Mark Alexander will be joining as CEO starting February 11, 2019. Outgoing Icelandic Provisions CEO, Steve Platt, will retain an advisory position at the company. Prior to joining Icelandic Provisions, Alexander held a wide range of executive positions around the globe at The Campbell Soup Company over a 29 year period. Most recently, Alexander served as Senior Vice President, President Americas. Previously, Alexander consistently delivered strong business results leading the International division, serving as Chief Customer Officer and in numerous leadership positions across Asia, Australia, Europe and North America.
Liveoak Technologies, Inc. [AUSTIN, TX] announced the appointing of Tim Ramza as new CEO in January of this year. Prior to joining Liveoak, Ramza served as the Chief Innovation Officer at John Hancock/Manulife and President of Manulife New Ventures. Andy Ambrose, Co-founder and former CEO of Liveoak Technologies, will take on a new role as President and head of business development and partnership initiatives.
Hilltop Securities Inc. [DALLAS, TX] announced that M. Bradley Winges joined as president and chief executive officer, succeeding Hill A. Feinberg who remains in his role as chairman. Winges joins HilltopSecurities from Piper Jaffray where he was senior executive managing director and a member of the company’s leadership team. Winges is a past two-term chairman of the Bond Dealers of America board of directors and currently serves on the board’s executive committee and as co-chair of the BDA’s Fixed Income Market Structure Working Group. Winges is a founding member of the American Securities Association and was appointed to the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Fixed Income Market Structure Advisory Committee last year.
IMImobile PLC [LONDON and TORONTO] announced the appointment of Bruce Bales as Chief Executive Officer, North America. Bales joins IMImobile with more than 20 years of executive experience with companies such as AT&T, Glenayre Technologies, and CLX Communications.
Cyren [MCLEAN, VA] (NASDAQ: CYRN) announced that Lior Samuelson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, intends to step down as CEO. Samuelson will continue in his roles as CEO and Chairman of the Board and will be involved in the selection and on-boarding of his successor. Upon transitioning his responsibilities to the new CEO, Samuelson will continue to serve as Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors.
SommSelect.com [SONOMA, CA] announced the appointment of Karen Roche to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Roche previously served as COO of The WineTasting Network. In addition to The WineTasting Network her experience includes roles as President of Streetwise Reports, and Partner at Sibson and Company Management Consulting.
OSI Creative [IRVINE, CA] announced the retirement of Joe Baksha as President and CEO, effective March 31, 2019. Baksha will be succeeded by John Kellogg, Chief Operating Officer of OSI. Baksha joined OSI as President and CEO in 2010. Kellogg joined OSI Creative as Chief Operating Officer in October 2018. Prior to joining OSI, Kellogg served as Chief Marketing Officer at Saxco International following the purchase of Square Peg Packaging and Printing, which Kellogg co-founded in 2007.
Petrichor Networks [DENVER, CO] announced it has selected Sean Rooney as Chief Executive Officer effective December 1, 2018. Rooney succeeds John Boland, who remains an active advisor to the company. Rooney held numerous senior leadership roles at Sony and venture capital-backed startups: Broadbus, BigBand Networks, Edgeware AB, This Technology, and Metrological Group.
Prevalent, Inc. [WARREN, NJ] announced the appointment of Kevin Hickey as Chief Executive Officer and the creation of three new C-suite positions. Hickey succeeds Prevalent founder and former CEO Jonathan Dambrot, who will remain on the Board of Directors.
CO2Meter, Inc. [ORMOND BEACH, FL] announced that Travis Lenander is now owner and Chief Executive Officer of CO2Meter, Inc. Lenander joined CO2Meter, Inc. in 2017 as the Vice President of Operations. Prior to joining CO2Meter Inc, Lenander has held roles in sales management, business development, operations and management consulting with Fortune 500 companies GE and Price Waterhouse Coopers. Irene Hicks, former CO2Meter CEO, will now take active role as CEO of CO2Meter’s new sister company GasLab.com.
Nortech Systems Incorporated [MINNEAPOLIS, MN] (NASDAQ: NSYS) named Jay D. Miller as president and chief executive officer. Miller has been serving as interim president since January 1 and has been an independent director of the company since May 2018. Miller also serves on the boards of a number of medical imaging and medical device companies. Previously Miller held CEO positions with IMRIS, Inc., Zonare, Inc. and Vital Images, Inc. Earlier in his career Miller worked for the medical divisions of both Siemens and GE.
Flowers Foods, Inc. [THOMASVILLE, GA] announced that Ryals McMullian, the company’s chief operating officer, has been elected president and chief executive officer. McMullian’s appointment follows the decision by Allen L. Shiver, president and chief executive officer, to retire and step down from the board. McMullian joined Flowers Foods in 2003, and was named chief operating officer in July 2018. Prior to his current position, McMullian served in roles of increasing responsibility, including deputy general counsel, vice president of mergers and acquisitions, and chief strategy officer.
Saint-Gobain [MALVERN, PA] announced that it has appointed Mark Rayfield as Chief Executive Officer of Saint-Gobain North America. Rayfield succeeds Tom Kinisky, who now takes on the role of Chairman of Saint-Gobain in North America and Chief Innovation Officer globally for the company.
The Middleby Corporation [ELGIN, IL] (NASDAQ: MIDD) announced Selim Bassoul is retiring from his role as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. Timothy FitzGerald has been named Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. FitzGerald has been instrumental in the development and execution of the company strategy since joining in 1998 and having served as Chief Financial Officer since 2003. FitzGerald served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Middleby Corporation since 2003. Prior to that, FitzGerald was Vice President and Corporate Controller of Middleby from 1998 to 2003. Prior to Middleby, FitzGerald held positions at Arthur Andersen.
ATI Physical Therapy [BOLINGBROOK, IL] announced that Labeed Diab stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer for the organization as of February 11, 2019. Labeed comes to ATI from Humana where he served as President of Humana Pharmacy Solutions. Labeed will take the reins from Al Hamood, acting CEO, who will now serve as President of the organization. Prior to Humana, Labeed served as Chief Operating Officer of Brookdale Senior Living. Before these positions, Labeed held several roles of increasing levels of responsibility between 2009 and 2014 within the Walmart organization, departing as President of Health and Wellness for Walmart US. Labeed also served as Regional Vice President of Aramark’s Health Care Division.
Paige.AI [NEW YORK] announced that Leo Grady has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer and a member of its Board of Directors. Prior to joining Paige.AI, Grady was Senior Vice President of Engineering for HeartFlow. Grady was most recently Senior Vice President of Engineering for HeartFlow. Before joining HeartFlow in 2012, Grady served in a variety of scientific and leadership roles at Siemens.
1st Detect [AUSTIN, TX] announced the appointment of Raj Mellacheruvu as President and Chief Executive Officer. Former CEO Thomas B. Pickens III will continue to serve in his role as Chairman of the Board. Most recently Mellacheruvu served as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of 1st Detect. Prior to that, Mellacheruvu was the Managing Director of Noumenon Consulting, Inc. Mellacheruvu was previously employed by ClearCube Technology, Inc., Omega Band, and Advanced Micro Devices.
trueDigital Holdings, LLC [NEW YORK] announced it has appointed Thomas Kim as its Chief Executive Officer and a Member of its Board of Directors. Kim joins the company following seven years with Bridgewater Associates, where he most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of the Investment Engine Group. Earlier in his career he held positions as Managing Director at Lehman Brothers, responsible for the Townsend Analytics Electronic Trading franchise, and held executive-level roles at UNX and TradingScreen.
Mood Media [AUSTIN, TX] announced new executive appointments after President & CEO Steven K. Richards retired from the organization last month. The Board of Directors has appointed David Hoodis as Chief Executive Officer, effective February 20th. Hoodis spent the past three years at IRI as President, Retail. Hoodis’s background also includes roles as VP of Software Strategy and Innovation at NCR, CEO and Co-founder of Snack Box, President and Chief Operating Officer of Modell’s Sporting Goods, and VP of Innovation and Operations at Wal-Mart.
Cetera [LOS ANGELES, CA] announced that Robert “RJ” Moore is stepping down as its Chief Executive Officer, effective March 31 but will continue to serve as an advisor to the Board and the executive management team. Ben Brigeman, Chairman of the Board, will expand his role to include Interim CEO while a formal search for a permanent CEO is conducted.
Destination XL Group, Inc. [CANTON, MA] (NASDAQ: DXLG) announced that it has appointed Harvey S. Kanter as the Company’s new President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of its Board. Kanter joined the Company as an employee on February 19, 2019, and will serve as Advisor to the Acting CEO until April 1, 2019, when he will succeed David Levin, the Company’s Acting CEO, and assume the full responsibilities of the President & CEO of the Company and become a member of its Board. Kanter was most recently the President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Blue Nile, Inc. Kanter continues to serve as Chairman of the Board of Blue Nile. Before Blue Nile, Kanter was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Moosejaw Mountaineering and Backcountry Travel, Inc. Prior to Moosejaw, Kanter served in executive positions at Michael’s Stores, Inc. and Eddie Bauer, Inc.
Servion Global Solutions [SAN FRANCISCO] announced the appointment of Laurent Philonenko as its new CEO and board member. Prior to joining Servion, Laurent was the Senior Vice President of Innovation at Avaya. In his previous roles, he has held executive leadership positions as Chief Technology Officer of Collaboration Technology Group at Cisco Systems and Chief Executive Officer at Genesys.
Biosynthetic TechnologiesTM [INDIANAPOLIS, IN] announced the appointment of Mark Miller as Chief Executive Officer. Miller will join Biosynthetic Technologies’ Board of Directors. Miller served as co-founder and CEO of Terresolve Technologies, Ltd, from 1996 until 2017.
Cirtronics [MILFORD, NH] announced the appointment of Dave Patterson as President and Chief Executive Officer. Gerardine Ferlins will remain with the company as Chief Governance Officer and Chair of the Board of Directors. Pattersn joined Cirtronics in 2010 as Director of Global Sourcing and was named Chief Operating Officer two years later.
Performance Health [WARRENVILLE, IL] announced that it has named Francis “Fran” Dirksmeier as Chief Executive Officer. Dirksmeier will also serve as a Director on the Performance Health Board of Directors. Dirksmeier takes over for an Interim Executive Committee, which comprised Mike McGoohan, Chief Marketing Officer, and Greg Nulty, Chief Financial Officer, both of whom will remain in their current leadership positions at Performance Health. Dirksmeier joins Performance Health from Henry Schein Animal Health – North America. Prior to joining Henry Schein Animal Health – North America, in 2002 Dirksmeier co-founded Agility Healthcare Solutions and served as it’s CEO.
The State Group Inc. [NEW YORK] announced the hiring of Thomas Santoni as the new Chief Executive Officer. Santoni most recently served as Senior Vice President of Operations at IES Holdings, Inc. Santoni will succeed Marc Dumont as CEO, who played a major role in selecting Santoni and will remain a member of the Board of Directors. Prior to his role as Senior Vice President at IES Holdings, Santoni served in various capacities including President, Vice President, and Central Division General Manager at IES Commercial & Industrial.
Bsquare Corporation [BELLEVUE, WA] (NASDAQ: BSQR) announced the appointment of Ralph C. Derrickson as president and chief executive officer, and also to the company’s board of directors, effective Monday, March 11, 2019. Derrickson was president & CEO of Carena, Inc. Derrickson served as SVP of Corporate Development until Avizia’s acquisition by American Well in July 2018. Prior to Carena, Derrickson was managing director of venture investments at Vulcan Capital. Derrickson has served for 15 years on the board of Perficient. Derrickson has senior leadership experience at Metricom, Starwave Corporation, and NeXT Computer.
Enzyvant [CAMBRIDGE, MA] announced the appointment of Rachelle Jacques as Chief Executive Officer. Jacques joins Enzyvant from Alexion where she most recently served as Senior Vice President and Global Franchise Head of Complement. Previously, Jacques was Vice President of U.S. Hematology Marketing at Shire and Baxalta and Vice President, Business Operations for the Global Bioscience Business Unit at Baxter International. Jacques succeeds Alvin Shih as CEO. Shih led Enzyvant since November 2016, shortly after the company’s founding. Shih will continue to be an advisor to the company.
Rite Aid [CAMP HILL, PA & TWINSBURG, OH] announced that Ben Bulkley has been named chief executive officer of EnvisionRxOptions, a pharmacy benefit management company and wholly owned subsidiary of Rite Aid. Bulkley was most recently chief executive officer and co-founder of Trellis Rx. Prior to Trellis Rx, Bulkley led the specialty businesses of Aetna, including its pharmacy, behavioral health, and TPA businesses. Bulkley has also served as chief operating officer of Allscripts.
Enerflex Ltd. [CALGARY, AB] (TSX: EFX) announced that J. Blair Goertzen, President and Chief Executive Officer, will retire on May 3, 2019. Marc Rossiter, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, will be appointed President and Chief Executive Officer upon Goertzen’s retirement and will stand for election to the Board. Goertzen will continue with Enerflex as a senior advisor through to May 31, 2019, working with Rossiter to ensure a smooth transition. Rossiter joined the Company in Calgary as a Project Engineer and moved to the USA in 2003. Before his appointment as COO in April 2018, Rossiter was President of the USA region and worked in a variety of engineering and sales management roles.
Innovate Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. [RALEIGH, NC] (NASDAQ: INNT) announced the departure of the Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors, Christopher Prior. The current Executive Chairman, Sandeep Laumas, M.D., has been appointed as Innovate’s Chief Executive Officer.
Cutlass Collieries LLC [PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL] announced that Michael J. Beyer has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Beyer returns to the coal industry after serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of Foresight Energy, LP, from 2006 to 2015. Before joining Foresight, Beyer worked at American Electric Power from 2002-2005, where he served as President of AEP Coal, Inc., among other commercial roles.
