Recombinetics [ST. PAUL, MN] announced that it has named Mark Platt the organization’s Chief Executive Officer. Platt’s experience includes his time as President and CEO of Multistack, LLC. Most recently Platt was Executive Sales Leader at the Trane, Inc. Midwest sales office, He was also Senior Vice President of Business Services for Gundersen Health System from November 2013 to April 2017. Tammy Lee, who served as President and CEO of Recombinetics since August 2017, is taking a leave of absence from the company.
Abeona Therapeutics Inc. [NEW YORK, & CLEVELAND, OH] (Nasdaq: ABEO) announced the appointment of João Siffert as Chief Executive Officer. Siffert joined Abeona as Head of Research & Development and Chief Medical Officer in 2018, and has served as interim CEO since November of last year. Siffert served as Chief Medical Officer for Ceregene from 2007 to 2011.
C.H. Robinson [MINNEAPOLIS, MN] (NASDAQ: CHRW) announced that Robert (“Bob”) Biesterfeld, currently the Company’s Chief Operating Officer, has been named Chief Executive Officer. Biesterfeld was named COO in March 2018. Biesterfeld has also been nominated to stand for election to the C.H. Robinson Board of Directors. Current Chairman and CEO John Wiehoff will remain Chairman of the Board following this succession. Prior to becoming COO in March 2018, he was President, North America Surface Transportation. Biesterfeld also served as Vice President, Truckload and Vice President, Robinson Fresh.
Foster Farms [LIVINGSTON, CA] announced that it has appointed Dan Huber to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the privately-owned company. Huber has held several leadership positions at Foster Farms since joining the company in 1996, most recently serving as Chief Operations Officer. Huber replaces Laura Flanagan, who resigned to pursue other opportunities. Prior to joining Foster Farms, Huber held sales and management positions within the Oscar Mayer and Kraft Foods organizations. Huber has participated on several industry boards including the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association, National Chicken Council and National Turkey Federation.
Cadent Therapeutics [CAMBRIDGE, MA] announced that Jodie Morrison has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and has also joined Cadent’s Board of Directors. Michael Curtis who has served as the Company’s President and CEO, will remain as President and Head of Research and Development at Cadent. Morrison most recently served as interim Chief Executive Officer at Keryx Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. Previously she served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Tokai Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Prior to being appointed President and Chief Executive Officer at Tokai, Morrison held other senior positions with the company, including Chief Operating Officer, Head of Clinical Affairs and Program Operations, and Vice President of Clinical Affairs and Program Operations. Prior to joining Tokai, Morrison held roles in clinical operations and medical affairs at Dyax Corporation, Curis, Inc., and Diacrin, Inc.
Hemophilia of Georgia [ATLANTA, GA] announced the appointment of Edith A. Rosato as its Chief Executive Officer, effective March 11, 2019. Rosato previously served as the CEO of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and Board Chair of its foundation. Prior to that, Rosato served as President of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Foundation and Senior VP, Pharmacy Affairs for the association.
Phio Pharmaceuticals Corp. [MARLBOROUGH, MA] (Nasdaq: PHIO) announced that Gerrit Dispersyn, currently President and COO, has been appointed by the Board of Directors as the Company’s new CEO, effective March 1, 2019. Dispersyn will succeed Geert Cauwenbergh, who will retire as CEO of the Company. Cauwenbergh will be available to support the transition and will remain as a member of the Board of Directors. Prior to his current role, Dispersyn was elected Chief Development Officer of the Company in April 2017.
Georgia Bio [ATLANTA, GA] has named Maria Thacker-Goethe President and CEO. Thacker-Goethe has served in a variety of roles for Georgia Bio over the years including Marketing, Membership and Project Manager. From 2013 to 2018 Thacker-Goethe served as Vice President of Operations.
Code Nation [NEW YORK] announced that Bay Area Executive Director Rebecca Novak has become its new CEO. Co-founder and outgoing CEO Maurya Couvares, who led Code Nation’s growth and national expansion for the past seven years, will remain on the Board of Directors and assume a supporting role to aid in the leadership transition through the end of the 2018-2019 school year.
Flex [SAN JOSE, CA] (NASDAQ: FLEX) announced that Revathi Advaithi has been named Chief Executive Officer and appointed to the Board of Directors at Flex. Prior to Flex, Advaithi was president and chief operating officer for the Electrical Sector business for Eaton. Advaithi began her career as a mechanical engineer in her native India, then moved to the US where she started her Eaton career on the factory floor as a plant supervisor in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Bounteous [CHICAGO, IL] announced that president and co-founder Keith Schwartz has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer, while co-founder and former CEO Phil Hollyer has assumed a new role as Executive Chairman. Hollyer will remain active with Bounteous in a variety of ways as Executive Chairman, assisting with strategy and direction-setting, developing new capabilities, and pursuing M&A opportunities.
American Greetings [WESTLAKE, OH] announced that it will appoint Joe Arcuri as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the American Greetings board, effective March 1, 2019. Arcuri replaces retiring CEO John Beeder. Arcuri was most recently the CMO at the PGA TOUR, a role he’s held since 2017. Prior to that, Arcuri was Chief Commercial Officer at Newell Rubbermaid and spent nearly 30 years at Procter & Gamble. Beeder joined American Greetings in 2008 as Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing.
IronNet Cybersecurity [FULTON, MD] announced that it has appointed William “Bill” Welch as co-CEO, effective February 11th, 2019. Keith B. Alexander, the former Director of the U.S. National Security Agency and Founding Commander of U.S. Cyber Command, will continue in his role as Founder, co-CEO, and Chairman of IronNet Cybersecurity. Most recently serving as COO and President of Ann Arbor, MI-based Duo Security, Welch also previously served as COO for cloud-based network security company Zscaler. Before joining Zscaler, Welch was Vice President and General Manager for HP Software Americas.
BostonSight [NEEDHAM, MA] announced that its CFO, Sara Yost, will be promoted to CEO effective March 11, 2019. Yost will replace current President and CEO Gene Guselli, who is retiring. Yost has been with BostonSight since 2002, holding several positions in administration, finance and operations, including the past three years as CFO. Yost has a BS in Health Management and Policy from the University of New Hampshire and earned an MBA, High Distinction.
Sitel Group [MIAMI, FL] announced the promotion of Mike Small to CEO – Americas. Small has served as Chief Client Officer for Sitel Group since May 2017. Prior to joining Sitel Group, Small held leadership positions at VXI & SYMBIO Global Solutions, Capgemini and Hewlett Packard.
The Skoll Foundation [PALO ALTO, CA] announced the appointment of a new CEO: former Ambassador to South Africa Donald H. Gips. Gips comes to the Skoll Foundation from the Washington, D.C.‐based Albright Stonebridge Group where he leads the firm’s Africa Practice. Previously, Gips served as Director of Presidential Personnel in the Obama White House. One of Gips’s earliest professional experiences was helping design and create a $650 million start‐up government corporation to promote community service. This eventually became the AmeriCorps program, still operational today. Gips also served the Clinton Administration as Chief Domestic Policy Advisor to Vice President Al Gore and Chief of the International Bureau at the Federal Communications Commission.
Indeed [AUSTIN, TX] announced that it has named Chris Hyams as its new CEO. Hyams will replace Hisayuki Idekoba (Deko) who has served in that role since October 2013. Indeed’s parent company, Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd. today appointed Deko to its Board of Directors in addition to his responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer. Hyams has served as President of Indeed since October 2015 and has been responsible for innovation and growth. Previously, Hyams served as Senior Vice President of Product at Indeed and was responsible for Indeed’s product and operations.
Sgsco [LOUISVILLE, KY] announced that the company has appointed Piyush Chaudhari as the new chief executive officer effective March 4, 2019. Chaudhari also will be elected to the Board. Aidan Tracey will resign his position as chief executive officer and member of the Board to pursue other career interests. Chaudhari joins sgsco from IRI, where he was most recently president of the Americas and global strategy. Before joining IRI, Chaudhari was a member of Aon Hewitt’s executive committee. Prior to Aon Hewitt, Chaudhari was with McKinsey & Co.
XpresSpa Group, Inc. [NEW YORK] (Nasdaq: XSPA) has named Douglas Satzman as its new CEO following the departure of former CEO and Director Ed Jankowski. Satzman has also been appointed to the Board to fill the vacancy created by the departure of Jankowski. Satzman most recently served as CEO of Joe Coffee Company. Previously, Satzman was Chief Executive Officer, US of Le Pain Quotidien. Prior to that, Satzman spent fourteen years at Starbucks Coffee Company where he held roles of increasing responsibility across the US and Europe, culminating in being named Senior Vice-President, EMEA Business Development & Channel Operations.
The National Council of Textile Organizations [WASHINGTON, DC] announced the appointment of Kimberly Glas as the organization’s new President & CEO, effective April 29th, 2019. Glas will succeed Augustine “Auggie” D. Tantillo, who previously announced his intention to step down from the same position. Glas most recently served as Executive Director of the BlueGreen Alliance. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2014, Glas served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Textiles, Consumer Goods and Materials at the U.S. Department of Commerce under the Obama administration. Glas also brings extensive Capitol Hill experience, having worked for U.S. Representatives Michael Michaud of Maine and John J. LaFalce of New York.
Bixby Land Company [NEWPORT BEACH, CA] has named Aaron Hill as the firm’s new Chief Executive Officer and President. In January of 2018 Hill was promoted to the position of President of the company. Prior to becoming President of Bixby Land Company, Hill served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Kadant Inc. [WESTFORD, MA] (NYSE: KAI) announced that Jeffrey L. Powell will be named president effective April 1, 2019 and chief executive officer and a director effective July 1, 2019. Jonathan W. Painter will become executive chairman of the board of directors effective July 1, 2019. Powell has been a co-chief operating officer since March 2018 and an executive vice president for six years with supervisory responsibility for our Material Processing Group. Powell joined Kadant in 2008. Prior to joining Kadant, Powell was the chairman and chief executive officer of Castion Corporation. Prior to Castion, Powell held various management positions at Thermo Electron Corporation, including chief executive officer and president of one of its publicly traded subsidiaries.
McGinley Orthopedics [CASPER, WY] has appointed Carl O’Connell as CEO. Prior to joining McGinley Orthopedics, O’Connell most recently served as CEO of Xtant Medical. Prior to that Carl was Vice President of Global Marketing—Extremities for Wright Medical Group Inc. O’Connell served as the President and CEO of MedSurg-ITOCHU International, a division of ITOCHU Corporation. O’Connell also served as a principal at Hudson Healthcare Partners, and President of Carl Zeiss Surgical Inc.
SugarCRM Inc.® [CUPERTINO, CA] announced that it has appointed Craig Charlton as chief executive officer. Charlton succeeds Larry Augustin, SugarCRM’s former CEO, who has been named chairman of the board of directors. Most recently, Charlton was CEO of Oildex. Before joining Oildex, Charlton was CEO of Abila. Prior to that, Charlton was senior vice president and general manager Asia Pacific at Epicor Software Corporation.
Omnicom Media Group [NEW YORK] the media services division of Omnicom Group Inc. (NYSE: OMC) has named Scott Hagedorn CEO of its North American operations. Hagedorn, who steps into the role following three years as the first CEO of Hearts & Science, succeeds Page Thompson, who is retiring following a distinguished 40-year career at Omnicom. Prior to Hearts & Science, Hagedorn was CEO of Annalect, OMG’s data and analytics division.
Friedman Industries, Incorporated [LONGVIEW, TX] (NYSE—American: FRD) announced that Robert Sparkman has elected to retire from his position as President, Chief Executive Officer. Michael J. Taylor, the Company’s current Chairman of the Board of Directors, will serve as interim President and interim Chief Executive Officer until a successor is appointed. Taylor has been a director of the Company since December 2016 and Chairman of the Board of Directors since June 2017. Prior to joining the Company, Taylor served as President of Cargill Metals Supply Chain from 2003 to 2014.
GREATER MSP [SAINT PAUL, MN] has named Peter Frosch as its new CEO. Frosch has held leadership positions at GREATER MSP for 6 years, most recently serving as senior vice president of strategy and partnerships and chief of staff. Frosch will succeed Michael Langley, the organization’s founding CEO.
