ONRAD, Inc. [RIVERSIDE, Calif.] announced that David Engert has joined ONRAD as President and Chief Executive Officer. Previously, Engert was president and CEO of Nighthawk Radiology Holdings, Inc. He also served as president and CEO of Quality Care Solutions, Inc. Early in his career, Engert held senior leadership positions in sales and executive management at organizations that included McKesson, HBOC, Sybase, Xerox and Boeing.
Synthorx Inc. [SAN DIEGO] announced that Laura Shawver was appointed president, chief executive officer, and director of Synthorx. Prior to joining Synthorx, Shawver held the following positions: CEO and director of Cleave Biosciences, entrepreneur-in-residence for 5AM Ventures, CEO and director of Phenomix Corporation, and president of SUGEN Inc. Shawver is currently a director of Relay Therapeutics as well as an advisor to the industry.
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) [WASHINGTON] is pleased to announce that William Schimmel will become PTCB’s new Executive Director and CEO. He will be succeeding Everett B. McAllister, who announced his departure. Schimmel has been PTCB Associate Executive Director for the past 7 years, serving as Interim Executive Director for 5 months from 2011-2012. Before joining PTCB, he was Vice President of Development and Evaluation for the American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence. He was a Manager in the Telecommunications, Media, and Entertainment sector at Accenture for 5 years.
THL Credit, Inc. (TCRD) [BOSTON] (NASDAQ: TCRD) announced that Christopher J. Flynn, who currently serves as Co-Chief Executive Officer, has been named CEO of both TCRD and THL Credit Advisors LLC. Sam W. Tillinghast resigned as Co-CEO of THL Credit.
Westmoreland Coal Company [ENGLEWOOD, Colo.] (NASDAQ: WLB) announced that Kevin Paprzycki is stepping down from his position as Chief Executive Officer. Michael Hutchinson, Audit Committee Chairman and current member of the Board, has been appointed to serve as the interim Chief Executive Officer. Hutchinson had a career with Deloitte and Touche spanning 35 years that included leading its Audit and Enterprise Risk Management Practice as well as its Energy and Natural Resources Practice in Denver.
Molson Coors Brewing Company [DENVER & MONTREAL] (NYSE: TAP; TSX: TPX) announced that Sergey Yeskov, currently Chief Sales & Customer Excellence Officer, Molson Coors Canada, has been promoted to the role of President and Chief Executive Officer, Molson Coors International, effective January 1, 2018.
Creative Artists Agency (CAA) [LOS ANGELES] announced that Steve Hasker has been appointed CEO of CAA Global, effective January 1, 2018. He will also join CAA’s board of directors. Hasker, most recently, served as Global President and Chief Operating Officer of Nielsen Holdings PLC. Prior to joining Nielsen in 2009, Hasker served as a partner in McKinsey & Company’s Global Media, Entertainment and Information practice. Before joining McKinsey, Hasker served in many financial roles in the U.S., Russia and Australia.
Spinal Elements, Inc. [MARIETTA, GA] announced that Jason Blain, co-founder of Spinal Elements and currently its President and COO, will assume the role of President and CEO. Prior to co-founding Spinal Elements in 2003, Blain had roles of increasing responsibility in product development, manufacturing, regulatory affairs and quality assurance with Smith & Nephew, Alphatec, and NuVasive.
National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) [DALLAS] announced that Bernard A. Harris has been named chief executive officer. Harris is a founding member of the NMSI board and has served in that role for 10 years. He succeeds Matthew Randazzo, who recently was named president and CEO of The Dallas Foundation. Randazzo will assume this role in mid-2018 and will remain a NMSI board member. Harris is a physician, former astronaut and businessman. His more than 20 years of business experience includes various leadership roles as CEO, president and chief medical officer of some of the nation’s leading companies and organizations.
Chipotle Mexican Grill [DENVER] (NYSE: CMG) announced that Steve Ells, chairman and CEO – and the founder of the company in 1993 – will transition to the executive chairman role following the completion of a search to identify a new CEO.
Pwnie Express [BOSTON] announced that it has appointed Todd DeSisto as the company’s new CEO. Former CEO, Paul Paget is staying with the company as executive vice president. DeSisto joined Pwnie’s Board of Directors in 2016. He was the former CEO at Axeda Corporation. Todd started his career in the wireless industry and was a member of Aloha Partners. DeSisto was a senior executive with several emerging companies, including Network Intelligence, Inc., New River Inc., and Atlantic Cellular Company.
CITGO [HOUSTON] has appointed Asdrúbal Chávez as the new Acting President and CEO of CITGO Petroleum Corporation. Chávez began his career at the El Palito Refinery. In 2001, he was named Manager of Human Resources of Bitúmenes Orinoco and was appointed to the Board of Directors the following year. In 2003, he was appointed Executive Director of Human Resources followed by Executive Director of Commerce and Supply of Petróleos de Venezuela before being appointed Vice President of Refining, Trade and Supply. Since 2009, he has held additional important functions, including Vice Minister of Petrochemicals, President of PDV Marina, and Director of CITGO Petroleum Corporation. In September 2014, Chávez was appointed Minister of the Popular Power of Petroleum and Mining.
Rize Inc. [WOBURN, Mass.] announced that Andy Kalambi has been named President and Chief Executive Officer. Most recently, he served in multiple roles at Dassault Systèmes, including CEO of the ENOVIA brand and the global executive of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
Pilot Chemical Company [CINCINNATI] announced that Pamela Butcher has been named CEO and president. Butcher has served in various capacities for Pilot Chemical, including CEO, president, COO and member of the board of directors over the last seven years. She will remain on the board of directors. She replaces former president Michael Scott. Butcher previously served at Dow Chemical Company for 29 years.
Tenere Inc. [DRESSER, Wis.] announced that Brian Steel has been named its new Chief Executive Officer. Steel, most recently, served as Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at Tenere. Prior to joining Tenere, Steel was Vice President of Global Sales at PCH International. Previously, he served in sales leadership positions at Zomax and at Agiliti.
C&S Wholesale Grocers [KEENE, N.H.] announced it has appointed Mike Duffy as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 8, 2018. Current CEO, Rick Cohen will focus on his role of Executive Chairman of the Board. He has most recently been serving as President of Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain at Cardinal Health. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Columbus Metropolitan Library, has previously been on the Board of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, and served as President of the Corporate Advisory Council at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
American Family Housing [MIDWAY CITY, CA] announced that Milo Peinemann as its new chief executive officer. He succeeds Michael Aimola, interim CEO. Most recently, Peinemann worked with homeless veterans at a nonprofit organization. He is co-chair of the Housing & Homelessness Working Group at the USC Center for Innovation and Research on Veterans & Military Families.
Gala Global, Inc. [ANAHEIM, Calif.] (OTC PINK: GLAG) announced that it has promoted Maqsood Rehman to the Chief Executive Officer position of Gala Global, Inc. Rehman will be taking over the position from Timothy Madden, who will become the CEO of Controlled Environment Genomics, Inc. Rehman has a diversified scientific background with training with over ten years of industry experience in plant breeding, quantitative and molecular genetics, cytogenetics and project management.
Immersion Corp. [SAN JOSE, Calif.] (NASDAQ: IMMR) announced that Vic Viegas has resigned as Chief Executive Officer and as a director. Carl Schlachte, currently Chairman of the Board, has been elected as Interim CEO. Schlachte joined the Immersion Board in 2011 and was elected as Chairman in 2012. He currently serves as Chairman and CEO of Ventiva, Inc. He will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Immersion during his tenure as Interim CEO.
Blue Apron Holdings, Inc. [NEW YORK] (NYSE: APRN) announced that it has appointed Brad Dickerson as President and Chief Executive Officer. He will also join Blue Apron’s Board of Directors. Dickerson has served as Blue Apron’s Chief Financial Officer since he joined the Company in February 2016. Matt Salzberg, Blue Apron’s co-founder, has stepped down from his role as President and Chief Executive Officer and has been named Executive Chairman. Salzberg will also continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Before joining Blue Apron, Dickerson spent eleven years at Under Armour in senior leadership roles including as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer.
Cowen Inc. [NEW YORK] (NASDAQ: COWN) announced that it has appointed Jeffrey M. Solomon as the Company’s next Chief Executive Officer. Solomon is currently Cowen’s President. Peter A. Cohen, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cowen since 2009, will remain the Company’s Chairman.
The Gladney Center of Adoption [FORT WORTH, Texas] announced the appointment of Mark Melson as President and CEO, effective January 1, 2018. He succeeds Frank Garrott, who is retiring. Mark was recently appointed as the Chief Operating Officer for Gladney. Prior to that, he held the position of Vice President for Development.
Potbelly Corporation [CHICAGO] (NASDAQ: PBPB) announced that it has appointed Alan Johnson as the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Board of Directors. Johnson succeeds Michael Coyne, who has served as interim CEO. Coyne will continue to serve as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer. Prior to that, Johnson served as Chief Executive Officer of BevMo! for more than six years. Johnson served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for PepsiCo’s Eastern Europe restaurant division and as International Strategic Planning Director for Pizza Hut International. Johnson was also the Chief Operating Officer of Regal Theaters and Senior Vice President and General Manager for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts.
Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation (TAES) [CHARLOTTE, N.C.] announced that Kenji Kano has been named President and CEO. Kano has been appointed a member of the TAES Board of Directors as well. Fumio Otani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TAES, had served as President and CEO on an interim basis since March 1, 2017, and will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors for TAES. Kano began his career with Toshiba in 1994, serving in various leadership roles within the Company’s Thermal/Hydro, Nuclear and Transmission & Distribution businesses and moved to TAES in 2015.
Akshaya Patra USA [STONEHAM, Mass.] announced that Vandana Tilak has been appointed CEO, effective January 1, 2018. Emily Rosenbaum, Akshaya Patra USA’s CEO since September 2013, will leave to become the executive director of the Worcester Jewish Community Center. Vandana has been actively involved with Akshaya Patra since 2012, starting the Los Angeles chapter in 2014 and serving as board member since 2015. Vandana also serves on the boards of Almex USA and Almex Advanced Materials Corporation.
The RiteScreen Company, LLC [ELIZABETHVILLE, Pa.] announced that Tom Himmel has been appointed as the CEO. He succeeds Randy Iles, who is retiring as the CEO of the company. Himmel joins RiteScreen following his role as Vice President Americas and Engineered Foams for Armacell LLC.
Origin Agritech Ltd. [DES MOINES, Iowa] (NASDAQ: SEED) announced that William S. Niebur, who served the Company since April of 2016, resigned from his positions of Chief Executive Officer and director to pursue new opportunities. Niebur will continue to assist the Company as a strategic consultant during a transition period.
