American Management Association International [NEW YORK] named Manos Avramidis as its President and Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds Edward T. Reilly, who announced his desire to transition leadership after a 16-year term. Avramidis previously held the positions of Senior Vice President of Product Development and Chief Human Resources Officer. Avramidis also served as Senior Vice President of US Management Education.
Serco Group plc [RESTON, Va.] announced the appointment of David J. Dacquino as Chief Executive Officer of Serco Inc. The appointment follows the announcement in February that Dan Allen had informed the business of his intention to retire from this role. Before Serco, Dave served as President and CEO of SkyLink. Previous roles included: CEO for the North America operations of VT Group, Vice President and lead executive of Raytheon Technical Services Company’s, and an extensive career at Lockheed Martin, where he ultimately held the position of Vice President and General Manager of logistic services.
Lear Capital, Inc. [LOS ANGELES] announced that it has appointed John Ohanesian as President and Chief Executive Officer. Ohanesian has led the transformation of Bosley, Inc. while he was President and CEO of the company for 20 years. For the last 6 years Ohanesian has served as CEO of Cosmedica, LLC. He also currently serves as the strategic advisor to a number of companies including Theradome, Inc.
Gulf Oil [WELLESLEY HILLS, Mass.] announced the appointment of Eric Johnson as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. Jerry Ashcroft resigned from his position as the CEO and President of Gulf to pursue other interests.
Compellon [LAGUNA HILLS, Calif.] announced the appointment of Carv Moore as chief executive officer. Moore succeeds co-founder and former CEO Ken Charhut, who will serve as executive chairman of the Board of Directors and chief strategy officer of the company. Previously, Moore served as senior vice president of worldwide sales, operations, channels and systems engineering for BMC Software Enterprise Systems. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of global software for Sun Microsystems. Moore also served as president of the Americas for Novell, president of the Americas for Cambridge Technology Partners, and as president and COO of Excell Data Corporation. Moore currently serves as board member and strategic advisor to several other software and services companies including Orbitera, Think Big Analytics, Mobiquity and River Meadow Software.
Magstim Group, Inc. [MORRISVILLE, N.C.] announced that it has appointed Lothar Krinke as Chief Executive Officer. Krinke will serve on the Board of Directors of Magstim. His experience is broad, including serving as Vice President of Business Development at Celera Genomics, as well as Vice President in AT Kearney’s New York office and as Senior Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company.
Zoosk, Inc. [SAN FRANCISCO, CA] announced that Kelly Steckelberg, Chief Executive Officer and President, has decided to leave the company for personal reasons. Mike Hodges, a member of Zoosk’s Board of Directors, will be the interim CEO while a search for a permanent CEO is conducted.
Peak Achievement Athletics Inc. [THOUSAND OAKS, CA] announced the appointment of Anthony M. Palma as the Chief Executive Officer of Easton Diamond Sports. In addition to his role as CEO of Easton, Tony will also serve as Co-CEO of Peak with Ed Kinnaly. Tony was previously the CEO of Easton Sports and Easton Bell Sports. Recently, he was the CEO of OGIO International. He has served on several boards including the action sports apparel company, Volcom.
Hexion Inc. [COLUMBUS, Ohio] announced the planned retirement of Craig O. Morrison, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hexion Inc. Craig A. Rogerson has been elected Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hexion Inc. Rogerson is the former Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Chemtura Corporation. Prior to Chemtura, Rogerson had a 27 year career at Hercules Incorporated serving in various senior management roles including Chief Executive Officer and President. Rogerson serves on the boards of PPL Corporation, the American Chemistry Council, the Society of Chemical Industry, and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
Radiant Ventures [SEATTLE] has named Amit Rikhi as Chief Executive Officer. Previously, he served as the National Vice President of Innovation at the American Cancer Society and Chief Business Development Officer at Viome Corp.
C. Mondavi & Family [NAPA, Calif.] announced the appointment of Judd Wallenbrock as President and CEO. Judd succeeds John Lennon, who has been interim CEO. With this announcement, Judd will also join the Board of Directors. Judd brings more than 35 years of leadership and executive experience in the wine industry with well-known brands including De Loach Vineyards, Jessup Cellars, Michel-Schlumberger and Robert Mondavi, where he held several executive level positions including VP Global Brand Development and VP and General Manager of Robert Mondavi Coastal Winery. Judd is active as a Board member for the Arts Council Napa Valley.
ParkerGale Capital [CHICAGO] announced that it has appointed Rick Noble as Chief Executive Officer of Aircraft Technical Publishers. Most recently, he served as CEO and Executive Chairman of Haights Cross Communications and its subsidiary Triumph Learning LLC. Previously, Noble was the CEO of Blackboard. He was also CEO of Medical Media Holdings and President & CEO of Thomson Healthcare.
DBC Pri-Med, LLC [BOSTON] a division of Diversified Communications, appointed Rick Watson as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Watson first joined Pri-Med in 2002 and has held leadership roles in marketing, corporate development and general management. In 2012, Diversified Communications named him Pri-Med’s Chief Marketing Officer.
Good Omen Bottling, Inc. [COTTONWOOD, Ariz.] appointed Steven L. Siegel as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Siegel has held leadership positions with public and privately held companies, including: amazing.com, Vanquish Group, and New York Accessory Group. Siegel has designed, negotiated, and developed licensing, strategic partnerships, and joint ventures involving patentable technology with international companies including: America Online, Deutsche Telekom, Motorola, MSN, Samsung, and www.163.com.
Cloudvirga [IRVINE, Calif.] has named Michael Schreck its chief executive officer. He succeeds cloudvirga co-founder Bill Dallas, who will continue as chairman of cloudvirga’s board of directors. Schreck most recently served as managing director of Altisource Labs and previously held CEO positions at digital publishing firm Zmags and Corrective Solutions. He also co-founded General Catalyst Partners, where he helped develop successful startups including Upromise, SmartBargains, m-Qube and CoreMetrics.
Essendant Inc. [DEERFIELD, Ill.] (NASDAQ: ESND) announced that Richard D. Phillips, Essendant’s Group President of Industrial, has been appointed interim President and Chief Executive Officer. Phillips succeeds Robert B. Aiken, Jr., who has resigned as President and CEO and as a Director. Prior to joining Essendant, Phillips spent 14 years at McKinsey & Company. He previously spent six years at Baxter Healthcare in various finance and sales roles.
Paringa Resources Limited [NEW YORK] announced that it has appointed Grant Quasha, as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Quasha’s previous role was the Chief Commercial Officer of Bowie Resource Partners, LLC. Quasha has extensive experience in the U.S. natural resource sector, having previously been the North American Manager of Corporate and Structured Finance at Trafigura AG and prior to that an investment banker in JPMorgan’s New York Mining and Metals division.
FC Construction Services (FC-CS) [DALLAS, TEXAS] announced the promotion of I. D. Walker to Chief Executive Officer. Walker is replacing co-founder Mark Hinton who will remain active in the role of Director. Walker has been with FC Construction Services for eight years previously serving as Chief Administrative Officer.
Urban Land Institute (ULI) [WASHINGTON] appointed Ralph Boyd as Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross’s Massachusetts region. Boyd has extensive experience as a non-profit CEO, including several years leading the Freddie Mac Foundation. Previously, Boyd was interim President and CEO of the Center City Public Charter Schools in Washington D.C. Prior to that, Boyd held several positions at Freddie Mac, including service as the Executive Vice President for Public Affairs, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary and he served as Corporate EVP for Community Relations.
Mills Fleet Farm [APPLETON, Wis. & BRAINERD, Minn.] announced the appointment of Derick Prelle as President and Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”), succeeding Wayne Sales. Derick Prelle joins Mills Fleet Farm from KKR Capstone. Prelle was an Associate Partner in McKinsey & Company’s Retail and Consumer practice. He has led significant transformation efforts at companies including Dollar General, National Vision, Del Monte, Big Heart Pet, Channel Control Merchants and several other retail and consumer goods companies. Wayne Sales will return to Mills Fleet Farm’s Board of Directors and serve as a Special Advisor to the company’s management team.
CECO Environmental Corp. [CINCINNATI] (NASDAQ: CECE) announced that Dennis Sadlowski has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Sadlowski has been acting in the role of interim CEO of CECO since January 24, 2017 and has been a member of the Company’s board of directors since May 2016. Sadlowski previously held a number of senior leadership roles including CEO of Siemens Energy and Automation, COO of LSG Sky Chefs, and CEO of International Battery. Sadlowski also previously worked at General Electric and Thomas & Betts. He continues to serve on the board of directors and audit committee of Trojan Battery.
KPS Global [FORT WORTH, Texas] announced it has named Jeff Clark as Chief Executive Officer. Clark has been Vice Chairman at KPS Global since its formation. He has over 30 years of industry experience, including as the CEO of Anthony International. Clark will remain a member of the KPS Global Board of Directors.
ProVisors [SHERMAN OAKS, Calif.] announced that it has appointed Matthew Toledo as Chief Executive Officer. Most recently, Toledo was Publisher and CEO of the Los Angeles Business Journal and Group Publisher of California Business Journals. Toledo currently serves on the Boards of Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation, Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission, Town Hall Los Angeles, and Central City Association. Toledo is replacing CEO Nikki Potter, who is returning to her native Australia.
College of American Pathologists (CAP) [NORTHFIELD, Ill.] has appointed Stephen R. Myers as its new CEO. Myers joined the CAP in 2003 as vice president of finance. He became chief administrative and financial officer in 2011 and has served as chief financial and operating officer since 2013. For the past year, Myers also has served as interim CEO.
HDR [OMAHA, Neb.] announced that its Chairman and CEO George A. Little has decided to retire effective December 31, 2017. George recommended Eric L. Keen, as his replacement. Keen currently serves as the firm’s president and chief operating officer. Keen was previously the director of the firm’s transportation group.
Falfurrias Capital Partners [CHARLOTTE, N.C.] announced that John Comly has joined portfolio company American Safety Council (ASC) as chief executive officer. Comly succeeds Jeff Pairan, who will be assuming the role of non-executive chairman of Orlando-based ASC. Comly previously served as president of several operating units of Red Ventures.
GE [BOSTON] (NYSE: GE) announced that Russell Stokes, current president and CEO of GE Energy Connections, has been named president and CEO of GE Power. He succeeds Steve Bolze, the former president and CEO of GE Power, who has announced his decision to retire. Prior to this role, Stokes was president and CEO of GE Transportation. He has also held senior roles in GE Lighting and GE Aviation.
Litmus [CAMBRIDGE, Mass. & SAN MATEO, Calif] has hired Erik Nierenberg as its new CEO. A Litmus board member since 2016, Nierenberg was previously an SVP and GM at Lynda.com and spent more than six years at Salesforce.com in a variety of roles.
Door to Door Organics [LOUISVILLE, Colo.] has named Mike Demko CEO. Demko has extensive experience leading successful marketing and operations teams at companies such as FreshDirect and Priceline. Demko will replace interim CEO Stefan Pepe who was recently named chairman of the board for Door to Door Organics. Prior to joining Door to Door Organics, Demko was COO of GPShopper. Demko also served as vice president of operations for online grocer FreshDirect and vice president of marketing for Priceline.
The Seibels Bruce Group, Inc. [COLUMBIA, S.C. & SARASOTA, Fla.] announced that Nan D. Brunson has been appointed full-time President & CEO of Gulfstream and its affiliates, as well as President & CEO of Catawba Insurance Company. Brunson currently serves as Vice President of Business Development at Seibels and interim President & CEO of Gulfstream.
Kenco [CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.] has announced the appointment of Denis Reilly as President and CEO. He succeeds Jane Kennedy Greene, who will continue to serve as Chairwoman of the Board. Reilly most recently served as CEO of St. George Logistics. He previously held executive and senior leadership roles at USA Dry Van Logistics, LLC, GEODIS, MIQ Logistics, and Menlo. Reilly will join the Kenco Board of Directors.
Coursera [MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.] has appointed Jeff Maggioncalda as its new CEO. Jeff joins Coursera following an 18-year tenure as founding CEO and President of Financial Engines. Jeff started his career with Cornerstone Research.
Mercer Advisors Inc. [SANTA BARBARA, Calif.] announced the appointment of Dave Welling as Chief Executive Officer. Welling succeeds David Barton, who will transition to Vice Chairman and lead the company’s M&A efforts going forward. Since 2016, Welling has served as Co-General Manager of SS&C Advent, a division of SS&C Technologies. Welling joined SS&C in 2015 when the company acquired Advent Software. He joined Advent Software in 2011 where he was serving as CEO.
Patriot Environmental Services [LOS ANGELES] announced that it has appointed Brian Johnson as Chief Executive Officer. Johnson’s career includes prior positions as co-founder, Chief Operating Officer, and President of Vac One Services, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Consolidated Utility Services, and senior vice president of operations for UtiliQuest.
GE [BOSTON] announced the appointment of Kieran Murphy as president and CEO of GE Healthcare. Murphy is currently president and CEO of GE Healthcare Life Sciences. Murphy succeeds John Flannery who has been appointed CEO and chairman elect of GE. Murphy joined GE Healthcare in 2008 from Whatman plc. He has over 20 years’ experience in the global life sciences and biotechnology industry, beginning his career with Janssen Pharmaceutical, a division of Johnson and Johnson, followed by leadership roles with Mallinckrodt, veterinary medicines provider Vericore, Novartis, Adprotech, ML Laboratories and Innovata plc.
Senet [PORTSMOUTH, N.H.] announced it has named Bruce Chatterley as CEO & President. Chatterley has also been elected to Senet’s Board of Directors. Chatterley will succeed Senet CEO & President, George Dannecker. Dannecker made the personal decision to retire after four years with the company.
BDO [CHICAGO & BRUSSELS] announced that Keith Farlinger has been named to succeed Martin van Roekel as CEO of BDO International, Ltd. effective November 1, 2017. Farlinger is the former CEO of BDO Canada and currently serves as CEO of the Americas region on the BDO Global Leadership Team.
Network of Executive Women (NEW) [CHICAGO] has named Sarah Alter president and CEO. Alter was previously the chief marketing officer for General Growth Properties. She served as vice president of Discover Financial Services and vice president for digital sales and marketing at Quill.com.
GE [BOSTON] (NYSE: GE) announced that John Flannery, current President and CEO of GE Healthcare, has been named CEO of the company effective August 1, 2017 and Chairman and CEO effective January 1, 2018. In 2002, Flannery became the President and CEO of GE Equity.
Acts Retirement-Life Communities [WEST POINT, Pa.] appointed Gerald T. Grant as President and Chief Executive Officer. Grant was named to the interim CEO role following the sudden passing of his predecessor, Mark Vanderbeck. Grant has been with Acts for nearly 30 years, most recently serving as President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Arch Reinsurance Company [TORONTO] announced that François Dagneau will be appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Arch Reinsurance Company Canada Branch. Dagneau will replace Patrick McGuiness, who is retiring from Arch. Dagneau joins Arch Reinsurance Company’s Canadian operations with more than 25 years of experience, most recently at AON Benfield in Canada.
Clear Guide Medical, Inc. [BALTIMORE] announced that it appointed Bob Cathcart to lead the Baltimore-based Company. Cathcart has worked in sales, marketing and international operations for medical device companies for 33 years, most recently as SVP of Global Sales at Hansen Medical. Cathcart was President and CEO of FlowCo Inc. Cathcart succeeds Dorothee Heisenberg, who is a co-founder of the company and has led Clear Guide Medical since 2014.
