DAVIDsTEA Inc. [MONTREAL] (NASDAQ: DTEA) appointed Joel Silver as the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of its Board of Directors. Silver will succeed Christine Bullen, who has served as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer. Bullen will continue to serve in her prior role as Managing Director, U.S. Silver most recently served as General Partner and a member of the Board of Directors of TrilogyGrowth, a venture capital fund he co-founded and Indeed Laboratories. Prior to TrilogyGrowth, from 2003 to 2011, Silver held several positions of increasing responsibility at Indigo Books & Music Inc., most recently as President. Silver also was a co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of SalesDriver.com Inc. Silver began his career in brand management at Procter & Gamble.
Talking Rain Beverage Company® [PRESTON, Was.] announced the departure of its President and CEO, Kevin Klock. Chief Financial Officer Marcus Smith has assumed the responsibilities. Marcus Smith joined Talking Rain as Chief Financial Officer in early 2014, and has been responsible for finance, accounting, information technology, supply chain and strategic planning. Prior to Talking Rain, Smith served as Chief Financial Officer at Mobisante, and Chief Financial Officer of SonoSite, Inc.
Tradepoint Atlantic [BALTIMORE] announced that Michael Moore has retired as Chief Executive Officer. Tradepoint Atlantic Chairman Michael Mullen has been named interim CEO. Mullen, who joined the project in October 2015 as a senior advisor and now Chairman of the Board. Mullen is the retired CEO and a founding partner of CenterPoint Properties Trust. Previously, he was a board member and senior advisor to IndCor Properties, a Blackstone portfolio company. Additionally, Mullen served as chairman of the National Association for Industrial and Office Parks in 2007.
The Honest Company [LOS ANGELES] announced the appointment of Nick Vlahos as Chief Executive Officer. Vlahos has a track record of building global retail brands, including Burt’s Bees, Brita and Green Works. He succeeds Brian Lee, who will remain on the board of directors and serve as an advisor to the company. He comes to Honest from The Clorox Company, where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Vlahos also previously held the role of Vice President – General Manager of Laundry, Brita and Green Works. Vlahos is a member of the Board of Directors for the Grocery Manufacturers Association’s Industry Affairs Council.
Rubicon Technology, Inc. [BENSENVILLE, Ill.] (NASDAQ: RBCN) appointed Timothy E. Brog, as Chief Executive Officer. Brog has been a director of Rubicon since May 2016. Brog replaces Bill Weissman, who has resigned as Chief Executive Officer and President and a member of the Company’s Board of Directors. Weissman will serve as a consultant to Rubicon Technology under terms to be agreed upon.
IRX Therapeutics, Inc. (IRX) [NEW YORK] has appointed Mark Leuchtenberger, as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director. Leuchtenberger. IRX also announced that John W. Hadden II, a founder of IRX and its prior CEO, will continue as a Director. Leuchtenberger was President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board of directors at Chiasma, Acusphere, Inc., and Rib-X Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Leuchtenberger served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Targanta Therapeutics Corporation. Leuchtenberger served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Therion Biologics Corporation. Prior to Therion, Leuchtenberger was a senior officer at Biogen Inc. He is a director and past chairman of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council Board of Directors. He is a co-founder of Albor Biologics, Inc. and Alvos Therapeutics, Inc. He served as non-executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Xenetic Biosciences, Inc.
The National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) [ARLINGTON, Va.] announced that Gen. Herbert J. “Hawk” Carlisle will serve as its President and Chief Executive Officer, effective June, 2017. General Carlisle most recently served as Commander, Air Combat Command at Langley Air Force Base. Prior to serving as Commander at Langley, Carlisle was the Commander of Pacific Air Forces; the Air Component Commander for U.S. Pacific Command; and Executive Director, Pacific Air Combat Operations Staff, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
LifeCare Health Partners [PLANO, Texas] has announced Jim Murray will join the company as chief executive officer. Murray assumes his new role after a successful 28-year career with Humana, where he served as chief financial officer as well as chief operating officer.
Gap Inc. [SAN FRANCISCO] (NYSE: GPS) has appointed Mark Breitbard as president and chief executive officer of Banana Republic. Breitbard served as chief executive officer at The Gymboree Corporation from 2013 until early 2017. From 2010 to 2013, Breitbard held leadership positions across Gap North America. He also served as chief merchandising and creative officer of Old Navy from 2009 to early 2010. Previously, Breitbard served in leadership roles at Levi Strauss & Co. and Abercrombie & Fitch.
Rubicon Project [LOS ANGELES] (NYSE: RUBI) announced that Michael Barrett will be joining the company as Chief Executive Officer. Frank Addante will continue with the company as Founder and Chairman. Michael Barrett was previously the CEO of Millennial Media. Previously, Michael was Chief Revenue Officer at Yahoo!. Prior to Yahoo!, he was the CEO of AdMeld. Michael has had a long career in advertising and media, having served as Chief Revenue Officer at AOL and Fox among other executive leadership roles.
Interstate Hotels & Resorts [ARLINGTON, Va.] announced the appointment of Michael (“Mike”) J. Deitemeyer as Chief Executive Officer. He has also been appointed to serve on the Board of Directors. Deitemeyer joins Interstate after a highly successful tenure with Omni Hotels & Resorts. He served as President of Omni for 13 years. He currently serves on the executive committee and board of the American Hotel & Lodging Association and is a founding board member and Director for the Global Hotel Alliance. Deitemeyer assumes the CEO role from Jim Abrahamson.
Cedexis [PORTLAND, Ore. and PARIS] announced the appointment of Ryan Windham as its new Chief Executive Officer. Scott Grout, the current CEO, will transition to a role as Executive Director, and remain an active contributor to the company. Windham originally joined Cedexis in mid-2016 as Vice President of Product and Strategy. Prior to joining Cedexis, he was a key executive at F5 Networks, most recently as Vice President of Product Management. Prior to F5 Windham spent a decade at Websense.
Comanche Nation Entertainment announced they have chosen a new CEO, Michael Starr. Starr is a seasoned professional in the gaming industry. His impressive career began at the famous Sands Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1981 where he worked in sales and marketing. He worked for Sahara Hotel & Casino, Luxor Hotel & Casino, Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino and Excalibur Hotel & Casino. In March of 2012, Starr decided to make the move to Indian gaming where Starr became the Chief Executive Officer of Little Creek Casino Resort.
Savi® [ALEXANDRIA, Va.] has appointed J. Richard (Rich) Carlson as Chief Executive Officer. Sean McGuinness, who had been interim CEO, will continue to serve as chairman of Savi’s board of directors. Carlson is the founder and president of the Neon Dolphin Technology Group. Prior to founding Neon Dolphin, Carlson spent eight years as CEO at Wireless Matrix Corporation. Carlson currently serves on the advisory board of Geotab, Inc. and Zerion Software.
Peregrine Semiconductor [SAN DIEGO] announced the appointment of Stefan Wolff as new Chief Executive Officer. Jim Cable current CEO will be stepping into the role of Peregrine Chairman and CTO and will serve as the Global R&D Director for Peregrine’s parent company, Murata. Wolff most recently served as vice president and general manager of Intel’s mobile communications business in Munich, Germany. Prior to Intel, Wolff managed the smartphones and RF business unit at Infineon and led an RF development center for Siemens Mobile in the US. He started his career in automotive electronics as RF design engineer at Bosch.
FRP Holdings, Inc. [JACKSONVILLE, Fla.] (NASDAQ: FRPH) announced that Thompson S. Baker II, its Chief Executive Officer, has resigned his CEO position. Baker also will resign as a director of the Company. The Board has named John D. Baker II, currently Executive Chairman of the Board, to the position of Chief Executive Officer.
USR Holdings, LLC and Amethyst Recovery Center [PORT SAINT LUCIE] has named Philip Fisher Chairman and Chief Executive Officer pending approval by the Florida Department of Children and Families. He will be taking over the executive leadership role previously filled by the founder, Ian Treacy.
Fidelity Southern Corporation [Atlanta] (NASDAQ: LION) announced that H. Palmer Proctor, Jr., President of Fidelity Southern Corporation and Fidelity Bank, will be named CEO of the Company’s principal operating subsidiary, Fidelity Bank, effective April 27, 2017. James B. Miller, Jr. currently serves in that capacity. Proctor joined Fidelity Bank in 1990 and served in various functions throughout the Bank before being named Director and President in 2004. He also serves as Chairman-Elect of Georgia Bankers Association and is a Board member of Brown and Brown, Inc.
Elavon, Inc. [Atlanta] (NYSE: USB) has named Jamie Walker as chief executive officer. Elavon is the wholly owned subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp. Walker is transitioning from his current role as chief administrative officer (CAO) for U.S. Bank’s Payment Services division, a role he has held for two years. During Walker’s 16-year tenure with U.S. Bank, he has successfully managed the finances of Elavon’s global business as chief financial officer.
U.S. Xpress Enterprises, Inc. [CHATTANOOGA, TENN.] announced Eric Fuller will assume the role of CEO. Eric Fuller has worked for U.S. Xpress for nearly 20 years in various management roles across the company, including regional operations manager and senior vice president of operations. For the past 5 years, he has served as president and chief operating officer for U.S. Xpress.
Harrison Poultry Inc. [BETHLEHEM, Ga.] announced Mike Welch will retire as the president and CEO roles at the end of April 2017. David Bleth will succeed him. Mike will continue with Harrison in a paid advisory capacity. Bleth joined Harrison in 2009 following a progression of ever-increasing challenge and success in a series of engineering and operations leadership roles in organizations including Hormel, Baader, Wayne Farms, Gold N’ Plump Poultry, and American Seafoods Group.
Zest Health [CHICAGO] appointed Jeff Semenchuk as their new CEO. Semenchuk previously served as the first-ever Chief Innovation Officer for Hyatt Hotels, he founded and led Citigroup’s growth ventures and innovation unit, and was head of global innovation at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare.
CreativeDrive [New York] has named Myles Peacock CEO of global content production. Peacock joins CreativeDrive from Omnicom Group’s global implementation and production agency, where he was President, Americas, Global Brand Leader and original Worldwide COO and Co-Founder.
Seven Bridges [CAMBRIDGE, Mass.] appointed Brandi Davis-Dusenbery to the position of CEO. Formerly Seven Bridges’ Senior Vice President of Science & Product, Brandi succeeds co-founder Deniz Kural who is today assuming the role of Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. Prior to Seven Bridges, Brandi worked as a Fellow at Harvard University’s Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology.
Activ Technologies [ATLANTA, GA] announced the appointment of Keith Goldsmith to President and CEO as well as a member of the Board of Directors. Goldsmith joins Activ Technologies after serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Americold Logistics. Prior to Americold, Goldsmith was the Senior Vice President, Business Development for CEVA Logistics. Prior to CEVA, Goldsmith served as a member of the board of management and Global Chief Information Officer for TNT Logistics, a predecessor company to CEVA.
GlobeNet [FORT LAUDERDALE, FL] announced Eduardo Falzoni as CEO. Falzoni joined Globenet as its Chief Commercial Officer in April 2016, having served in several C-level roles prior to joining the GlobeNet team. Falzoni brings with him vast industry experience including executive positions in the US and Latin America such as CEO of Latin American Nautilus, VP Region Americas for Telecom Italia Sparkle, and Director of Marketing and later Director of Strategy for Telecom Argentina.
Brand Networks [BOSTON, MA] announced it has appointed Chief Revenue Officer Todd Taplin to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Founder and former CEO Jamie Tedford will continue to serve the company as Chairman of the Board. Taplin joined the Brand Networks team in Q3 2016, after a long career in media and SaaS software. Prior to joining Brand Networks, Taplin served as EVP and Chief Revenue Officer with Celtra. Before Celtra he held senior executive and sales leadership roles at Adobe and Yahoo.
HistoSonics, Inc. [ANN ARBOR, Mich.] announced Mike Blue has joined the Company as President, CEO and Board member. Christine Gibbons, HistoSonics co-founder and interim CEO, will continue to serve as Chief Operating Officer. Blue built teams and drove revenue growth at two successful venture-backed companies, NeuWave Medical and superDimension.
Dental Services Group (DSG) [ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.] announced the retirement of its CEO Kirby G. “Buddy” Pickle after 8 years of building the company. The Board has promoted Matt Morgan, current Chief Operations Officer of the company, to become DSG’s next CEO. Prior to his promotion, Morgan was Chief Operations Officer, leading DSG’s operations, sales and marketing functions. Morgan previously served in key executive roles within multiple healthcare businesses, experience which should serve him well in continuing to transform DSG and the dental lab industry.
