ABSOLUTE Home Mortgage Corp [WEST PATERSON, NJ] has named Matthew D Van Fossen as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to his tenure at ABSOLUTE, Van Fossen successfully built and managed multiple entities in a range of industries including mortgage, real estate, and technology.
Southeastern Grocers (SEG) [JACKSONVILLE, Fla.] announced that it has appointed Anthony Hucker President and Chief Executive Officer. Before joining SEG, Anthony was President and COO of Schnucks. Anthony also held the position of President of Giant Food and served on the executive board of Ahold USA. Prior to joining Giant Food, Anthony spent seven years at Wal-Mart in a variety of leadership positions, internationally and domestically. He began as the CIO of the Americas, formed the Global Format Development Division and was promoted to head of strategy and business development for Wal-Mart USA. He also worked as a food industry analyst reporting on pan-European stocks to the City of London. He then worked for 10 years with Aldi where he served in a variety of leadership assignments in Germany, the U.S. and Austria, and was part of the original startup leadership team that set up Aldi UK.
Maverick Therapeutics Inc. [BRISBANE, Calif.] announced the appointment of James S. Scibetta as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. Scibetta joins Maverick from Pacira Pharmaceuticals where he oversaw as the company’s president global R&D, manufacturing and capacity expansion activities, as well as commercial and medical support activities. He joined Pacira as chief financial officer in 2008. Prior to that, Scibetta was an executive with Bioenvision Inc. acquired by Genzyme, and Merrimack Pharmaceuticals. Earlier in his career he spent over a decade in investment banking.
Imperva, Inc. [REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.] (NASDAQ: IMPV) announced Christopher Hylen the former CEO of Citrix GetGo, as president and CEO and a member of the board. Anthony Bettencourt, who currently serves as president and CEO, will transition to the newly created role of vice president of customer engagement. Christopher Hylen previously served as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mobility Apps of Citrix and was responsible for strategy and business operations of Citrix’s former Mobility Apps business unit consisting of Citrix’s GoTo family of products, including its communications cloud and workflow cloud products. Prior to joining Citrix, Hylen spent seven years at Intuit, where he held a series of executive roles of increasing seniority, including serving as senior vice president and general manager of Intuit’s payment solutions division. Earlier in his career, Hylen held executive-level positions with Automatic Data Processing and American Express. He also served on the board of ADT from 2015-2016.
MBIA Inc. [PURCHASE, N.Y] (NYSE: MBI) has elected William C. Fallon to the position of Chief Executive Officer. MBIA CEO Jay Brown has stepped down as CEO effective September 15, 2017. He plans to conclude his service on the MBIA Inc. Board of Directors as of the 2018 Annual Shareholder meeting in May of 2018.
Builders FirstSource, Inc. [DALLAS] (NasdaqGS: BLDR) announced that CEO Floyd Sherman intends to step down as CEO effective January 1, 2018. In accordance with the Company’s succession plan, Builders FirstSource intends to appoint Chad Crow, currently President and COO of the Company, as President and CEO effective January 1, 2018.
Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute (SBP) [LA JOLLA, Calif.] announced its chief executive officer Perry Nisenis is retiring effective September 30, 2017. Current SBP president, Kristiina Vuori, will be interim CEO.
Nixon [ENCINITAS, Calif.] announced that Scott Kerslake has been selected as the new Chief Executive Officer. With over 25 years of experience growing consumer product brands, Kerslake joins Nixon from prAna where he was CEO since 2009. Prior to joining prAna, Kerslake served as President of Miraval. Before Miraval, Kerslake founded Athleta, where he also served as CEO.
EMW Industrial [SALTCOATS, SK] announced Dave Link to their team as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Dave most recently was Product Line Manager for Cargill Texturizing Solutions. He started his career with Cargill in 1990 and has held many operations and commercial roles with the company. At EMW, Dave succeeds Ewen Morrison as CEO, who had led the company since its early beginnings in 1971, Ewen will continue as President.
Selligent [BRUSSELS, BELGIUM] announced that John Hernandez will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer. Hernandez was most recently Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President, Service Cloud at Salesforce. Before Salesforce, John served as Vice President and General Manager of IBM’s collaboration business. Prior, Hernandez served as a Vice President and General Manager within Cisco’s Collaboration business.
SocialChorus [SAN FRANCISCO] announced the appointment of Gary Nakamura as chief executive officer. Nakamura served as CEO of Driven, Inc. and was senior vice president and general manager at Terracotta.
Modern Markets Initiative (MMI) [NEW YORK] announced the appointment of Kirsten Wegner as Chief Executive Officer. Wegner, who currently serves as Senior Vice President of Business Development of MMI, succeeds Bill Harts, who informed the Board of his intention to step away from day-to-day responsibilities. Wegner joined MMI in May 2016, previously, she was a director of government relations for the International Securities Exchange. Harts, who has led MMI for the past three years, will become a Senior Advisor to the organization.
Interactive Health [CHICAGO] has appointed Bill Goldberg as its new CEO. Goldberg will succeed Cathy Kenworthy, who remains with the company as chief marketing and analytics officer. She also continues as a board member. Goldberg previously served for five years as CEO of MediMedia and related entities.
AppFolio, Inc. [SANTA BARBARA, Calif.] (NASDAQ: APPF) announced that Jason Randall will succeed Brian Donahoo as President and Chief Executive Officer following Donahoo’s retirement. Donahoo will also be stepping down from his role as a director on the same date, and has elected Randall to serve in his place.
Merchants’ National Properties, Inc. (MNP) [NEW YORK] (OTC-US: MNPP) announced that Craig Deitelzweig joined the company as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Deitelzweig brings over 20 years of diverse real estate experience to MNP. He joins MNP from Building and Land Technologies where he served as a Managing Director and head of Asset Management. Prior to joining BLT, Deitelzweig oversaw the office division of Rockrose Development Corp., and previously led the leasing and asset management activities of the Ruben Company’s retail and office space in New York, Washington, DC and Boston.
R2i [BALTIMORE] announced the appointment of Jennifer Quinlan as the Chief Executive Officer. She succeeds Matt Goddard, Co-Founder and former CEO. Most recently Jennifer served as North American Digital Practice leader for IBM Global Business Services, Distribution Sector. Prior to IBM, Jennifer was Senior Vice President at Merkle, over almost a two decade tenure with Merkle, Jennifer was a key member of the leadership team.
Inventus [CHICAGO] announced that Paul Mankoo has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Mankoo had served as President of Inventus since February 2017, after having led the Company’s international business since 2015. He has established, built, and divested four successful companies, including UNIFIED, which was acquired by Inventus in 2015.
DineEquity, Inc. [GLENDALE, Calif.] (NYSE: DIN) the parent company of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar® and IHOP® restaurants, announced the appointment of Stephen P. Joyce as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer, effective September 12, 2017. Richard J. Dahl, Chairman of the Board and Interim Chief Executive Officer, will remain as Chairman and will continue to serve as Interim Chief Executive Officer until Joyce assumes the role of Chief Executive Officer on September 12, 2017. Stephen P. Joyce has served as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors of Choice Hotels International, Inc. since June 2008. Prior to joining Choice Hotels, Joyce served as executive vice president, global development/owner and franchise services for Marriott International, Inc. An active member of the hospitality industry and business community, Joyce serves on a variety of boards and community organizations. A long-standing member of the International Franchise Association, Joyce has held many leadership roles there, including chairman. He is also the former chairman of the U.S. Travel Association and is currently the vice chairman of the Board of Trustees of the ServiceSource Foundation. In addition, he has served as a member of the Board of Directors for: DineEquity, Inc. since 2012; Hospitality Investors Trust, Inc.
XchangeLabs [RICHARDSON, Texas] announced the appointment of Joel Becker as chief executive officer. Prior to joining XchangeLabs, Becker worked with St. Jude Medical, Inc. in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as the President of the America’s Division. He also served as a founding member of the management team for its Atrial Fibrillation Division. Becker also founded Viking North Ventures.
Adweek, LLC [NEW YORK] announced that it has appointed Jeffrey Litvack as chief executive officer, and is joining the Adweek Board of Directors. As a longtime media executive, Litvack joined Adweek in February as COO and moved quickly to ramp up Adweek as an omnichannel platform, overseeing double-digit traffic growth in the past few months, with even more ambitious plans for activations and products set for 2018. Prior to joining Adweek, Litvack was interim chief operating officer at Robb Report and group president at ALM. Before that, he led the Associated Press’ Global Product Development division driving innovation in the newspaper industry. He founded and launched AP Mobile.
SintecMedia [NEW YORK] announced that Lorne Brown is assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer. Previously Brown served as President of SintecMedia, following the company’s acquisition of Operative, Inc. which Brown was CEO and Founder. Amotz Yarden, Founder and former CEO of SintecMedia, is retiring and will maintain his role as a member of the Board of Directors.
Orazul Energy [HOUSTON] has named Willem Van Twembeke its CEO. Van Twembeke is Orazul’s first CEO since the Firm’s acquisition of regional facilities from Duke Energy International. Van Twembeke joins Orazul following a 25-year tenure at Tractebel and various companies within the ENGIE Group. As CEO of EnerSur and Calidda, he reengineered both Peruvian companies, transforming them into significant players in the local energy market. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President of ENGIE’s Energy International Business Line.
