LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions LLC [CHICAGO] announced the promotion of Mike Guagenti to Chief Executive Officer. Mike had served as the company’s President and CFO since its inception in 2013. Simultaneously, Ian Rollo – previous CEO since the company’s founding – has moved into the new position as Chairman of the Board. Before forming LAUNCH as one of its owners, Mike led Volant Aerospace as its President and CFO. Mike began his career at Ernst & Young LLP.
HALO Maritime Defense Systems (HALO) [NEWTON, N.H.] announced that Eric Johnson has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer. Eric Johnson, formerly was the Chief Operating Officer of HALO and started his career with Raytheon.
Rasna Therapeutics, Inc. [NEW YORK] (OTCQX: RASP) announced the appointment of Kunwar Shailubhai as Chief Executive Officer. Shailubhai, was a co-founder and served as the Chief Scientific Officer and prior Senior Vice President, Drug Discovery, of Synergy Pharmaceuticals Inc. from 2004. Between 1993 and 2000, he was with Monsanto Company, serving as Research Specialist and Group Leader of the cancer chemoprevention group. Shailubhai previously served as a Senior Staff Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, and as an Assistant Professor of Research at the University of Maryland.
Carter Bank & Trust [MARTINSVILLE, Va.] announced that Litz H. Van Dyke was elected as a member of the Board of Directors and was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer. Van Dyke joined the Bank in 2016 as Executive Vice President. Prior to that time, he served as the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Lending Officer of several Virginia based financial institutions. He also served as Practice Manager for CCG Catalyst Consulting Group.
eOriginal, Inc. [BALTIMORE] announced that Brian Madocks has been named chief executive officer. Over his career, he has served as CEO of Revitas, Inc., Vitalyst, Inc. and SunGard Higher Education, as well as senior vice president and general manager of SAP America.
Ooyala [SANTA CLARA, Calif.] announced the appointment of Jonathan Huberman as chief executive officer. Prior to Ooyala, Huberman was the CEO of Syncplicity. He successfully led the company through its acquisition by Axway in February 2017. Before Syncplicity, Huberman was the CEO of Tiburon. Prior to Tiburon, he was the President of EMC’s Consumer and Small Business Division and led EMC’s China growth strategies.
USGI Medical, Inc. [SAN CLEMENTE, Calif.] announced the appointment of Carlos Babini as the President and Chief Executive Officer. Babini previously served as Vice President of AirSeal® System Commercialization for CONMED Corporation (CONMED), and Chief Commercialization Officer at SurgiQuest, Inc., prior to being acquired by CONMED, Babini also served as President, International for Curon, Inc. and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of the medical segment of Vision Sciences Inc., and held various senior management positions at United States Surgical Corporation prior to its acquisition by Tyco, and subsequently by Medtronic.
ReForm Biologics [CAMBRIDGE, Mass.] appointed John M. Sorvillo as Chief Executive Officer. Sorvillo joins ReForm from Amgen, where he was Director of Business Development & Licensing. Prior to Amgen, he served as Vice President of Business Development at Genocea Biosciences, and Vice President of Business Development at Altus Pharmaceuticals. Before joining Altus, Sorvillo served as Chief Executive Officer of Bionaut Pharmaceuticals. His earlier responsibilities included Vice President of Business Development at ArQule, and a variety of positions at OSI Pharmaceuticals, including Vice President and General Manager of the Research Products Division.
Light Engine Design Corp. [TEMPE, AZ] (OTC PINK: TLED) has confirmed the reappointment of Robert Manes as Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of the Company. As founder of Tall Trees LED Company Manes provides two decades of domestic and offshore manufacturing and supply relationships. Manes was owner and President of QPC, Inc. He served as President of MoonCell Inc. and LEDgend Lighting.
Prosperity Capital Advisors (PCA) [CLEVELAND] has named Douglas S. King, formerly of Cetera Advisor Networks LLC, as its president and CEO. He will also take the helm at PCA’s sister company, C2P Advisory Group (C2P). Prior to joining PCA and C2P, King served as president & CEO of Cetera Advisor Networks LLC (CAN). Previously, he served in a dual role as director of Merrill Lynch’s Minneapolis Complex and as Minnesota state president for Bank of America. King began his financial services career in 1985 and joined Merrill Lynch in 1986 as a financial advisor and sales manager in Norfolk, Virginia. In 1995, he became the district sales manager of the firm’s southwest district in Phoenix, Arizona, and then went on to lead a series of regional leadership roles.
Comcar Industries [AUBURNDALE, Fla.] announced the appointment of Michael P. Ryan to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer. Ryan will also hold a seat on the Company’s Board of Directors. Most recently, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of US Shipping Corp (USSC) in Edison, NJ. Prior to USSC, Ryan was the President and Chief Executive Officer of American Commercial Lines (ACL). Before joining ACL, Ryan also held senior leadership positions directing several commercial business units with CSX Transportation.
Global Employment Solutions and Fahrenheit IT [DENVER] announced Paul Seymour joined the company as Chief Executive Officer. Seymour will lead all field and corporate operations for the Company and report to the Board of Directors. Most recently, Seymour was Partner and Regional President of EmployBridge Holdings.
AdCare Health Systems, Inc. [ATLANTA] (NYSE MKT: ADK) (NYSE MKT: ADK.PRA) announced that Allan J. Rimland, currently AdCare’s President and Chief Financial Officer, has been named Chief Executive Officer. The Board of Directors terminated Bill McBride’s employment for cause.
Arconic [NEW YORK] (NYSE: ARNC) announced that Klaus Kleinfeld has stepped down as Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Arconic and has resigned as a Board member. David P. Hess, a current Board member, has been appointed as Interim CEO of Arconic and will remain on the Board. David P. Hess joined the Arconic Board in March 2017. He has served in numerous leadership roles over his 38-year career at United Technologies Corporation (UTC) including his most recent position as UTC Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer for Aerospace. Previously, Hess served as President of Pratt & Whitney from January 2009 through January 2014. He joined Pratt & Whitney after four years as President of Hamilton Sundstrand. Hess was a 10-year member on the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) Board of Governors Executive Committee, serving as Chairman in 2012.
PointNurse.com [NASHVILLE, Tenn.] announced former Philips Healthcare executive, Elaine Comeau, will join the company as its new CEO. Comeau, who has worked in various executive capacities in the telehealth industry including CEO and CNO, will lead strategy, planning, and business development.
CPI Card Group [LITTLETON, Colo.] (NASDAQ: PMTS, TSX: PMTS) announced that Steve Montross will be retiring from his position as President and Chief Executive Officer and as a member of CPI’s Board of Directors. Montross will continue to serve as President and CEO through the earlier of the date on which the Company appoints a successor or December 31, 2017. From that date through his June 30, 2018 retirement date, Montross has agreed to continue working with CPI serving in a non-executive capacity and will assist with the transition of the new CEO.
Digital Reasoning [NASHVILLE, Tenn.] announced Brett Jackson has joined as the company’s CEO. Founder Tim Estes has transitioned to President after 17 years as the company’s CEO. He recently served as CEO and chairman of Logi Analytics. Prior to this, Jackson was CEO of Digital Harbor. He was also a founding member of Axent Technologies.
MEDarchon [NASHVILLE, Tenn.] announced James “Butch” Baxter has joined as CEO. Prior to joining MEDarchon, Baxter was Senior Vice President of Santa Rosa Consulting. In 2012, Santa Rosa acquired InfoPartners where Baxter had enjoyed a significant career in business development and strategic management relationships. In addition to information technology, Baxter’s deep experience in healthcare includes positions in the CRO and clinical lab spaces – with ClinTrials Research, Inc. and SmithKline Beecham Clinical Laboratories, respectively – and in the managed care sector with American Medical Plan.
Griswold LLC [MOOSUP, CT] announced that David Natorski has been elected CEO effective June 1, 2017. Natorski will transition into the position following the retirement of current CEO Daniel P. Mahoney. Natorski has been with Griswold for over 33 years and has held various sales and management positions.
Chromatic Industries, LLC [HOUSTON] announced that Mark Gamber joined the Company as CEO. Mark is a seasoned industry executive most recently serving as Vice President of Operations at Cameron International Corporation.
Hakkasan Group [LAS VEGAS] announced the promotion of Nick McCabe to CEO. McCabe formerly served as President and COO of Hakkasan Group, and succeeds Neil Moffitt, who resigned from his role. Having joined the company in 2013 following its acquisition of Angel Management Group, McCabe brings more than 15 years of management and venue development experience to Hakkasan Group. Prior to his role with Hakkasan Group, McCabe began his career as an entrepreneur in Miami where he launched CoolJunkie.com. McCabe became a partner and Chief Creative Officer of Track Entertainment in 2005. Following his role with Track, McCabe created a series of ‘B-Live’ music festivals for Bacardi in 2006. With the momentum of Bacardi B-Live fueling his ambition, he formed his own music marketing company, The Big Idea in 2007. Through this new business, he continued to work on Bacardi B-Live in conjunction with Neil Moffitt’s Las Vegas-based entertainment and nightlife company Angel Management Group (AMG) before deciding to join the AMG team on a full-time basis. While at AMG, McCabe served as Vice President of Strategy. Following its acquisition of AMG in 2013 McCabe became President and COO of Hakkasan Group.
JUST Goods, Inc. [GLENS FALLS, N.Y.] announced Ira Laufer will become the company’s CEO. Laufer joins the company with 17 years of experience leading better-for-you and specialty CPG brands including Red’s Natural Foods and Vitalicious.
Regis Corporation [MINNEAPOLIS] (NYSE: RGS) announced that after successful completion of the CEO transition Dan Hanrahan has left the Company and the Board has appointed Hugh E. Sawyer to replace Hanrahan as President and CEO. Sawyer was also appointed to the Board of Directors. Sawyer, has served as President or CEO of eight companies and on numerous boards of directors over a forty-year career. He was most recently a Managing Director of Huron Consulting Group Inc.
