U.S. Auto Parts Network, Inc. [CARSON, Calif.] (NASDAQ: PRTS) announced Aaron Coleman as Chief Executive Officer and Director. Coleman has served as President of U.S. Auto Parts since October 2016 and Chief Operating Officer since September 2010. Prior to that time, Coleman served as Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Information Officer of U.S. Auto Parts from April 2008 until September 2010, and before that, as the Senior Vice President at Blockbuster from July 2007 to April 2008, which he joined as Vice President in March 2005. Shane Evangelist, who served as Chief Executive Officer and a Director since 2007, submitted his resignation.
COPsync, Inc. [DALLAS] (NASDAQ: COYN) dismissed Ronald A. Woessner as Chief Executive Officer and terminated his employment. Woessner remains a director of the Board. The Board appointed Philip J. Anderson as Interim Chief Executive Officer. Anderson will remain the Chief Financial Officer.
Emera Inc. [HALIFAX, Nova Scotia] (TSX: EMA) announced that Chris Huskilson has provided notice of his intention to retire as CEO in 2018. Concurrently, the Board announced it will appoint Scott Balfour, current COO and former CFO, as CEO upon Huskilson’s retirement. Balfour joined Emera as Executive Vice President and CFO in 2012, was appointed COO Northeast & Caribbean in March 2016 and Chief Operating Officer for Emera in November 2016. Balfour has also assumed responsibility for leading corporate strategy and is the Chair of the Board for most of Emera’s affiliates. Following six years in commercial and corporate banking with TD Bank and the Royal Bank of Canada, Scott played a leading role at Aecon Group. Scott joined Aecon as CFO in 1994 and became President in 2005. Scott is the past Chair of the Ontario Energy Association Board of Directors. He also sits on the board of Martinrea International Inc.
Edison Interactive [DENVER, CO.] announced Jeremy Ostermiller will be CEO. Jeremy was the founder and former CEO of Altitude Digital.
Nestlé Waters North America [STAMFORD, Conn.] announced that Fernando Mercé has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective May 1, 2017. Mercé, formerly Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Purina Latin America & Caribbean, will oversee all Nestlé Waters North America’s operations in both the United States and Canada. Mercé will also serve as a member of the global Nestlé Waters board of directors. Mercé began his career with Nestlé in 1992 as an Industrial Engineer with the Operations Improvement Team, before joining marketing and steadily increasing his responsibilities. His roles have included E-Business development, Director of Marketing for the Friskies™ Brand, Global Marketing Director in the PetCare Global Strategic Business Unit. Mercé also served as Vice President and Deputy of Nestlé’s Americas Zone before moving to Nestlé Purina.
Vencerx Therapeutics [NEW YORK] announced the appointment of Robert H. Ring as Chief Executive Officer. Ring’s distinguished career spans pharma, non-profit, venture philanthropy and academia, with leadership roles at Pfizer, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and Autism Speaks among others.
Barbaras Development, Inc. [NEWBURY PARK, Calif.] parent company to Petunia Pickle Bottom and MOBY announced that Yann Boulbain has been named CEO for both companies. Yann Boulbain has enjoyed over 20 years as an executive in global sales, marketing and product licensing for consumer packaged goods companies like Guess, Affliction, and Skechers. Most recently, he was the Senior Vice President for Global Sales at ERGOBABY.
Evariant [FARMINGTON, Conn.] announced Clay Ritchey as Chief Executive Officer. William Moschella, Evariant’s co-founder and former CEO, will remain on the company’s board of directors and senior leadership team. Most recently, Ritchey served as GM and Chief Marketing Officer of Imprivata. Prior to Imprivata, Ritchey was the Chief Executive Officer of Equinox Healthcare. Before that, he held senior executive roles at Hill-Rom IT Solutions and Kronos Incorporated.
VoltDB [BEDFORD, Mass.] announced David Flower to the role of President and Chief Executive Officer. He had most recently served as the company’s Chief Revenue Officer. Prior to joining VoltDB, Flower served as Vice President EMEA for Carbon Black Inc. He has held senior executive positions in numerous successful global software companies, including Everbridge as Senior Vice President International; Compuware, as Vice President EMEA and UK Managing Director; Gomez, as Vice President EMEA; and MapInfo, where he served as Group Vice President, International. He also held senior management roles at Lotus Development and Xerox.
eRx Network LLC [FORT WORTH, Texas] announced that Mark Doerr has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer. Mark has nearly 20 years of experience in the pharmacy services industry, most recently at Giant Eagle. Prior to his time at Giant Eagle, Mark held senior management positions at Adheris Health, Catalina Health, Sears/Kmart and Phar-Mor.
Ayasdi [MENLO PARK, Calif.] announced the appointment of Robert Griffin to the position of chief executive officer. Formerly, the general manager of IBM’s Safer Planet and Smarter Cities division, he succeeds co-founder and former-CEO Gurjeet Singh who will serve as executive chairman of the board of directors. Griffin joins Ayasdi after 35 years of being a founder and holding CEO positions at technology and software companies. Most recently, he served as the GM of IBM’s Safer Planet and Smarter Cities division. Griffin joined IBM through the acquisition of i2, where he was the president and CEO. Prior to i2, he was a co-founder, president and CEO of Knowledge Computing Corporation. Griffin is a member of the Board of Directors for the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA), and he serves on the National Advisory Board for InfraGard.
Viacom Inc. [NEW YORK] (NASDAQ: VIAB, VIA) announced the appointment of Jim Gianopulos as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Paramount Pictures. For 16 years, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fox Filmed Entertainment. Previously, Gianopulos served as President of 20th Century Fox International. Prior to joining the company, he held senior positions at Columbia Pictures and Paramount. He began his career as an attorney specializing in entertainment law.
Enercare Inc. [PLANO, Texas] parent company of Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning, has announced the retirement of Scott Boxer and the appointment of Scott Boose as President and Chief Executive Officer. Boose was most recently the President of Direct Energy Services, he joined Direct Energy in 2004, in which he held several senior positions over a 10-year period. From 2007 to 2010, he served as the Managing Director of the Heating Services business in the UK for British Gas. He also served on the board of British Gas Insurance during his time in the UK. From October 2014 to May 2016.
LightIntegra Technology Inc. [VANCOUVER, British Columbia] announced William “Bill” Dubiel as President and Chief Executive Officer. Dubiel was also elected to the Board of Directors of LightIntegra. Dubiel joins LightIntegra from Personal Genome Diagnostics, where he has been the Chief Commercial Officer. He has held senior level positions at CyVek, Ventana, Roche, Bayer and Chiron Diagnostics.
Accela [SAN RAMON, Calif.] announced Ed Daihl as Chief Executive Officer. Mark Jung, former acting CEO and Chairman, will remain with Accela as Executive Chairman. Most recently, Daihl served as Senior Vice President for Epicor. From 2006 to 2014, Daihl served as CEO for Surgical Information Systems. Previously, he also served in various executive positions at Manugistics, CAPS Logistics, BaaN Supply Chain and MCI/WorldCom/EDS.
Impax Laboratories, Inc. [HAYWARD, Calif.] (NASDAQ: IPXL) announced Paul M. Bisaro as Impax’s President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Company’s Board. Bisaro will succeed J. Kevin Buchi, who has served as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer since December of 2016. Bisaro previously served as Executive Chairman of Allergan, plc (formerly Actavis, plc), President and CEO of Actavis (formerly Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc.) and Chairman of the Board. Prior to joining Watson in 2007, Bisaro was President, Chief Operating Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Barr Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 1999 to 2007. Between 1992 and 1999, Bisaro served as General Counsel of Barr, and from 1997 to 1999, served in various additional capacities. Prior to joining Barr, he was associated with the law firm Winston & Strawn and a predecessor firm, Bishop, Cook, Purcell and Reynolds, from 1989 to 1992. He also served as a Senior Consultant with Arthur Andersen & Co. Bisaro currently serves on the board of directors of Allergan, Zoetis, Inc. and on the Board of Visitors of the Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law.
Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. [NEW HAVEN, Conn.] (NASDAQ: ALXN) announced Ludwig N. Hantson as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors. Hantson most recently served as President and CEO of Baxalta. Hantson succeeds David R. Brennan, who has led the company as Interim CEO since December 2016. Prior to Baxalta, Hantson was President of Baxter BioScience. Prior to his roles at Baxalta and Baxter BioScience, Hantson held several leadership roles during his decade-long tenure at Novartis from 2001-2010, including CEO of Novartis Pharma North America, CEO of Novartis Europe, and President of Novartis Pharma Canada. He began his career at Smith & Nephew and subsequently served in increasing roles of responsibility in marketing, and research and development at Johnson & Johnson from 1988-2001.
Bridge Medicines [NEW YORK] announced William J. Polvino as Chief Executive Officer. In conjunction, Kathleen Metters, who served as the interim CEO will continue to have an operating role and Chair the Scientific Advisory Board. Most recently, Polvino was president and chief executive officer of Veloxis Pharmaceuticals A/S. Prior to Veloxis, Polvino held positions at Helsinn Therapeutics (formerly Sapphire Therapeutics), where he also served as the company’s president and CEO. Polvino has also held executive and senior-level positions in drug development at Merck, Wyeth and Theravance.
Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation [CHARLOTTE, N.C.] President and CEO Ali Azad has decided to leave to pursue other interests. TAES and Toshiba thank Mr. Azad for his contributions and wish him well.
Heartbeat [NEW YORK] announced Agency founder, Bill Drummy, has stepped down as CEO after 18 years. Drummy has assumed the new role of Chairman and will remain a key part of the agency, guiding thought leadership and business growth.
EXFO Inc. [QUEBEC CITY] (NASDAQ: EXFO) (TSX: EXF) announced Germain Lamonde, the company’s founder, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), has appointed Philippe Morin as EXFO’s new CEO. Morin has more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and became EXFO’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) in November 2015. Before joining EXFO, Morin was Senior Vice-President of Worldwide Sales and Field Operations at Ciena. He also held senior management positions at Nortel Networks, including President of the Optical Networking Division.
Venture for America (VFA) [NEW YORK] announced that its current CEO, Andrew Yang, will step down from the chief executive position, effective Sept. 1, 2017. Amy Nelson, who has served as Yang’s second-in-command and managing director at VFA, will become the next CEO.
Laboratory Corporation of America® Holdings (LabCorp®) [BURLINGTON, N.C.] (NYSE: LH) announced that Gary Huff is being promoted to CEO of LabCorp Diagnostics. Huff, who most recently served as head of LabCorp Diagnostics’ Hospitals and Health Systems group, will be a member of the LabCorp executive committee. Huff began his career at LabCorp, holding multiple positions of increasing responsibility. These roles included, among others, serving as executive director of business development; vice president of national sales operations; and senior vice president of national toxicology testing (now called Occupational Testing Services) and senior vice president of the North Atlantic Division. Huff rejoined LabCorp in 2016 as senior vice president of LabCorp Diagnostics’ Hospitals and Health Systems group after having served as president, CEO and chief operating officer of other laboratory-focused companies.
First Advantage [ATLANTA] a Symphony Technology Group (STG) company announced that it has selected Scott Staples as the organization’s next chief executive officer. Staples, who currently serves as president of the Americas and head of vertical markets at Mindtree, will succeed First Advantage’s current CEO Mark Parise. Staples co-founded Mindtree in 1999. Prior to co-founding Mindtree, Staples was a director at Cambridge Technology Partners. He also served as a director of marketing for Gemini Consulting’s North American financial services practice.
Sunworks, Inc. [ROSEVILLE, CA] (NASDAQ: SUNW) announced the appointment of Charles (“Chuck”) F. Cargile as Chief Executive Officer. Cargile succeeds James Nelson, who has served as the Company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since 2010. Nelson will continue as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Cargile has served as an independent director of Sunworks since September 2016. Cargile served as Chief Financial Officer of Newport Corporation. Prior to Newport, Cargile held a number of executive positions at York International Corporation and Flowserve Corporation.
Ecoark Holdings, Inc. [ROGERS, AR] (OTCQX: EARK) appointed Jay Puchir CEO of Ecoark Holdings. Ecoark Founder Randy May will remain Chairman of the Board. Puchir most recently led Ecoark’s financial planning and analysis, treasury and secretary functions. Jay began his career as an auditor and consultant with one of the Big 4 accounting firms, ultimately earning the position of Senior Manager. He then held the role of the Director of Finance/Controller at a state college, and then Associate Chief Financial Officer within a Fortune 100 healthcare organization.
AppTech Corp. [CARLSBAD, CA] (OTC PINK: APCX) has announced Mickey Gross, CEO of Crossfire Marketing Group, will replace Steven Cox as Chief Executive Officer as Cox gave his notice of resignation as CEO and a Director of the company.
