PathSolutions [SANTA CLARA, Calif.] announced it has appointed Andrew Bohart as CEO. Bohart started with PathSolutions as a board member in 2010 and later became the company’s SVP of Business Development and Managing Director.
Vineyard Wind [NEW BEDFORD, Mass.] named Lars Thaaning Pedersen as its new CEO. Prior to being named CEO, Pedersen had served as the project director for Vineyard Wind on behalf of Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP). Prior to COP, Pedersen had been an executive at DONG Energy, most recently serving as Senior Vice President, Market Development & Asset Management.
The ONE Group Hospitality, Inc. [NEW YORK] (NASDAQ: STKS) announced that it has appointed, current Board member, Emanuel Hilario to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Jonathan Segal, the Company’s current Chief Executive Officer, will transition to the role of Executive Chairman of the Company.
Birch Communications, Inc. [ATLANTA] (NASDAQ: FSNN) announced the departure of Birch’s President and CEO Tony Tomae. Fusion and Birch Communications Holdings, Inc. -Birch’s parent company, entered into a definitive agreement with Fusion. Fusion’s current CEO, Matthew Rosen, will be the CEO of the combined company following the transaction’s close.
The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation [TORONTO] announced the appointment of Michael Burns to the position of President & CEO, effective January 2, 2018. Burns takes over from Paul Alofs, who has been in this position for 14 years. Burns was most recently CEO of the Invictus Games Toronto 2017. Burns is co-founder of the True Patriot Love Foundation. He is Past Chair of the Michael Garron Hospital Foundation Board. Burns is also on the Board of the Canadian Institute for Military & Veteran Health Research and is a member of the Board of Directors of Roy Thomson Hall and Massey Hall.
Castlewood Treatment Centers [ST. LOUIS] has announced the appointment of Jennifer Crute Steiner as its new Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Castlewood, Steiner served as CEO of InnerChange. Prior to InnerChange, Steiner served as Division Vice President for Davita Health Care Partners. Steiner also served as Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Health Care REIT. In the years preceding her time at Health Care REIT, Steiner was Assistant Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at HCR ManorCare, where she served for nearly 13 years.
Emergent Capital, Inc. [BOCA RATON, Fla.] (OTCQB: EMGC) announced that Antony Mitchell resigned as Emergent’s CEO and as a Member of the Board of Directors to pursue other opportunities. Patrick Curry, the Interim CEO, has been named Chief Executive Officer and will perform these duties in addition to remaining Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emergent.
Simmons Research [NEW YORK] announced that it has appointed Andrew Feigenson as Chief Executive Officer. Feigenson was most recently the Chief Revenue Officer at Nielsen Catalina Solutions, where he led the company’s commercial functions, including sales, client consulting, marketing and programmatic. Prior to Nielsen Catalina Solutions, Feigenson ran Nielsen Digital for 6 years. Prior to Nielsen, Andrew ran sales and product for private equity and venture backed companies, including ECI Conference Call Services and Rave Mobile Safety.
Starwood Energy Group Global, LLC [GREENWICH, Conn.] announced that longtime executive Himanshu Saxena will be elevated to the position of CEO of Starwood Energy. Saxena, who has a 10-year tenure with Starwood Energy, was named co-head of the business in 2015.
Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza [FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.] hired Wayne Jones as its new Chief Executive Officer. For the last three years, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of PF Chang’s China Bistro. Prior to that, Jones led teams and held senior roles within other restaurant concepts, including The Cheesecake Factory and BJ’s Restaurants.
Aprecia Pharmaceuticals [CINCINNATI] announced that Timothy Tracy will serve as the company’s next Chief Executive Officer, beginning in January 2018. Tracy currently serves as the Provost for the University of Kentucky, a position he will maintain through the end of 2017. Aprecia’s current chief executive officer, Don Wetherhold, will stay with the company, moving to the role of Advisor to the Chairman in 2018.
iFLY [AUSTIN, Texas] announced that it has chosen Dave Kirchhoff to serve as Chief Executive Officer. Kirchhoff will succeed iFLY Founder and CEO Alan Metni. Metni will become Executive Chairman of the Board. Dave Kirchhoff most recently served as CEO of Snap Kitchen since 2015. Prior to Snap Kitchen, Kirchhoff spent 13 years in various roles at Weight Watchers, including President and CEO from 2006 to 2013. Kirchhoff has also held leadership roles at Enthusiast Media Group of Primedia Inc., in addition to Pepsico Inc.
ILG [MIAMI] (NASDAQ: ILG) announced that Jeanette Marbert has been named president and CEO of the company’s Exchange and Rental operating segment. Most recently, Marbert was chief operating officer of ILG. Marbert is on the board of directors of the ILG Relief Fund. She also has been actively involved in the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) state legislative and federal issues committees. She currently serves as an ARDA trustee.
aTyr Pharma, Inc. (NASDAQ: LIFE) announced that Sanjay Shukla will succeed John Mendlein as President and Chief Executive Officer. Shukla will also join aTyr’s Board of Directors. Mendlein, who has served as Chief Executive Officer since September 2011 and as a member of the Board of Directors since July 2010, will continue to serve on the Board of Directors of aTyr Pharma. Shukla served as aTyr’s Chief Medical Officer since March 2016.
Oncology Analytics [PLANTATION, Fla.] announced that it has appointed Rick Dean as Chief Executive Officer. Dean will join the Board of Directors. Marc Fishman, the founder and former CEO of the company, will assume the role of Executive Chairman. Dean comes to Oncology Analytics from Optum. At Optum, Dean was a founding member of Optum Ventures. Prior to Optum Ventures, he was Senior Vice President for Optum Analytics. Dean came to Optum from Humedica, where he was the company’s Chief Growth Officer. Prior to Humedica, Dean was senior vice president of North American sales for Sentillion. Dean is a past Board member of American Medical Group Association Analytics.
Genie Energy Ltd. [NEWARK, N.J.] (NYSE: GNE, GNEPRA) has appointed Michael Stein as Chief Executive Officer. Stein succeeds Howard Jonas, who continues to serve as Chairman of the Board. Michael Stein has served as Chief Operating Officer of Genie Energy and as Chief Executive Officer of Genie Retail Energy. He previously worked as Senior Vice President of Business Development of IDT Telecom and as an analyst at Belstar Investment Management.
Dessange International [BOSTON] announced the hiring of John Costanza as President and Chief Executive Officer of Dessange Group North America. Costanza had previously been at Conair Corp. He served at Conair, L’Oreal USA, Sally Beauty Holding Canada and Joico Hair Care Laboratories.
LCS [Des Moines, Iowa] announced that Joel Nelson has been promoted to CEO and president of LCS, effective January 1, 2018. Ed Kenny will continue as chairman of the board of Life Care Companies LLC and LCS Holdings, Inc. Joel has been with LCS over 30 years and has served as the president and chief operating officer since 2015. He has held multiple executive level positions including, executive vice president/chief development officer, and executive vice president/director of operations. Currently, Joel serves on the board of managers for Life Care Companies LLC, and LCS Holdings, Inc.
SentryOne [CHARLOTTE, N.C.] announced the appointment of Bob Potter to be the Company’s Chief Executive Officer. Potter succeeds Greg Gonzalez, who will move into a new role of Chief Technology Officer for SentryOne. Potter most recently has been part of the operating team with Alpine Investors. Prior to joining Alpine, he held senior executive roles with Rocket Software, Kalido Corporation, QlikTech International AB and Expressor Software. He was Executive Vice President of IONA Technologies and Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Services at Object Design, Inc. He has served as a consultant to SentryOne for the past six months.
Emblem Corp. [TORONTO] (TSX-V: EMC) (EMC.WT) announced the appointment of Nick Dean as the Company’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 15, 2018. Dean succeeds Gordon H. Fox. Most recently, Nick Dean worked with KBS Canada.
American International Group, Inc. (AIG) [NEW YORK] (NYSE: AIG) announced that Chris Townsend will join the company as Chief Executive Officer, International General Insurance. Townsend previously served as president of MetLife’s Asia region. He joined MetLife from AIG. From 2010 to 2012, Townsend was Chief Executive Officer of AIG’s Asia Pacific region. He serves on the Board of the Japan Society and holds many advisory positions, including as Advisor to the Asia Society, Vice Chairman of the U.S.-Korea Business Council, and a member of the international advisory council to the Guangdong Government.
CymaBay Therapeutics, Inc. [NEWARK, Calif.] (NASDAQ: CBAY) announced the appointment of Sujal Shah as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Shah has been serving as the Interim President and Chief Executive Officer since March 2017. Sujal Shah joined CymaBay as Chief Financial Officer in December of 2013. Prior to that he served as a consultant and acting Chief Financial Officer since June 2012. From 2010 to 2012, Shah served as Director, Health Care Investment Banking Group for Citigroup. From 2004 to 2010, Shah was employed with Credit-Suisse, last serving as Vice President, Health Care Investment Banking Group. Shah currently serves on the Executive Advisory Board of the Chemistry of Life Processes Institute at Northwestern University.
Xenetic Biosciences, Inc. [LEXINGTON, Mass.] (NASDAQ: XBIO) announced that it has appointed Jeffrey F. Eisenberg as Chief Executive Officer. M. Scott Maguire will continue to serve Xenetic during the management transition. Eisenberg joined the Xenetic management team in December 2016 as Chief Operating Officer and has served on the Company’s Board of Directors since July 2016. Prior to joining Xenetic, his most recent position was Chief Executive Officer of Noven Pharmaceuticals.
SCANA Corporation (SCANA) [CAYCE, S.C.] (NYSE: SCG) announced that Kevin Marsh, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, will retire as Chief Executive Officer of SCANA. Jimmy Addison will become Chief Executive Officer.
Clover Technologies Group [CHICAGO] announced that George Milton has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Clover Imaging. Jim Cerkleski, who has served as Chief Executive Officer of Clover for the last 17 years, will become Chairman of the Board of Directors. Milton joined Clover in 2004, and has served as Chief Operating Officer of the Company for the past 11 years.
Panaceutics, Inc. [RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.] announced it has named Mark Montgomery to the position of Chief Executive Officer. He will succeed Edison Hudson, CEO and co-founder, who will remain at the company as Chief Technology Officer. Montgomery was president and CEO of Axium Healthcare, Inc., where he has served as strategic advisor. Mark was Vice President of CareMark and was head of Sunrise Health Management.
Ares Commercial Real Estate Corporation (ACRE) [NEW YORK] (NYSE: ACRE) announced that it has appointed Jamie Henderson, the Company’s President and Chief Investment Officer, as Chief Executive Officer, and elected him as a Class I Director. The Company’s Interim Co-Chief Executive Officer, Robert Rosen, will continue to serve as Chairman of ACRE’s Board. The Company’s Co-Chief Executive Officer, John Jardine, has been named Vice Chairman and Head of National Accounts for Real Estate Debt within Ares Management’s Real Estate Group.
BMO Financial Group [TORONTO and CHICAGO] announced the appointment of Darryl White to the role of Chief Executive Officer. White previously held the role of Chief Operating Officer. Prior to moving into the role of COO, White served as Group Head, BMO Capital Markets.
alpha-En Corporation [YONKERS, N.Y.] (OTC: ALPE) announced that Sam Pitroda will become Chief Executive Officer. Sam Pitroda is the founder of six technology companies including C-SAM. Sam Pitroda served as Advisor to Prime Minister Indira Gandhi of India on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovation and as a Cabinet Minister under Rajiv Gandhi. He served as Chairman of the Smart Grid Task Force. He was also the chairman of the National Innovation Council.
CVR Energy, Inc. [SUGAR LAND, Texas] (NYSE: CVI) announced that Jack Lipinski, chief executive officer and president, will retire on Dec. 31, 2017. Lipinski, who also serves as the chief executive officer and president of CVR Refining, LP and the executive chairman of CVR Partners, LP, will be succeeded by David Lamp, effective January 1, 2018. Most recently, Lamp was President and COO of Western Refining Company. Prior to Western Refining, Lamp was President and CEO of Northern Tier Energy Corporation. He previously served as COO and Executive Vice President of HollyFrontier Corporation. Lamp joined Holly in 2004 and held various roles, including Vice President, Refinery Operations, Executive Vice President, Refining and Marketing, and President.
ImmunoMet Therapeutics [HOUSTON] announced the appointment of Benjamin R. Cowen as Chief Executive Officer. Cowen previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer. Sung-Wuk Kim, Founder and outgoing CEO, will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Prior to joining ImmunoMet, Cowen served as VP of Corporate Development at Milestone Pharmaceuticals. Cowen also serves on Atrin Pharmaceuticals’ Board of Directors since its inception in 2012. He joined ImmunoMet as COO on November 1, 2016.
Valley National Bancorp [WAYNE, N.J.] (NYSE: VLY) announces the retirement of Gerald H. Lipkin as Chief Executive Officer, effective December 31, 2017. Ira Robbins has been selected by the Board of Directors to assume the position of Chief Executive Officer of both Valley National Bancorp and the Valley National Bank. Robbins will also become a member of the Board of Valley National Bancorp and will continue to serve as President and a Director of Valley National Bank. Robbins joined Valley in 1996 as part of the Bank’s Management Associate Program and has held several key positions throughout the Bank over the past two decades. Presently, Robbins is directly responsible for Credit Administration, Retail Banking, Technology, Human Resources, Treasury, Finance and serves on the Bank’s Credit Committee
W. P. Carey Inc. [NEW YORK] (NYSE: WPC) announced that Mark J. DeCesaris will retire as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors, effective December 31, 2017. Jason E. Fox, current President of W. P. Carey, will succeed DeCesaris as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board upon his retirement. Jason Foxwas appointed President of W. P. Carey Inc. in 2015, prior to which he served as Head of Global Investments from 2015 to 2016 and Co-Head from 2011 to 2015. Before joining W. P. Carey, Fox worked at the Spectrem Group. Prior to Spectrem, he spent two years teaching mathematics and physics at The Hotchkiss Schoolin Connecticut.
The Central Florida Sports Commission (CFSC) [ORLANDO, FL] announced that Jason Siegel, who served as interim president and CEO since July 2016, will officially serve as the CEO of CFSC. Prior to his role as interim CEO, Siegel served as the managing partner for the Orlando Solar Bears, working as the team’s president, CEO and alternate governor. He also held positions as the senior associate athletic director for Binghamton University and vice president of the NHL’s New Jersey Devils.
Singularity Partners [BELLEVUE, Wash.] named Jamison F. Marra as its new president and CEO. Marra joins Singularity Partners from Maxsam Partners, where he most recently served as CEO and co-founder. He has held executive and senior leadership positions at some of the largest high-tech companies in the industry, such as Microsoft, Amazon.com, EDS, aQuantive and more.
Goji [BOSTON] named Peter Breitstone CEO of Goji. Breitstone has more than 20 years of senior executive leadership experience at several global insurance companies, including: Insureon as EVP of Sales, Programs and Facilities, Zurich as SVP of Enhanced Market Dynamics, and Aon as CEO of Aon Global Environmental Services Group and Aon’s Agency Specialty Product Network and Private Risk Management. Breitstone also built and ran Environmental Partners.
Sterilis, LLC [BOXBOROUGH, Mass.] announced that Michael K. McGarrity has been named Chief Executive Officer. McGarrity comes to Sterilis most recently from Nanosphere, where he served as Vice President before being named CEO in February of 2013. Prior to Nanosphere, McGarrity spent 13 years at Stryker Corporation in sales, marketing and operations.
Astreya [SANTA CLARA, Calif.] announced that Edwin Miller has been named Chief Executive Officer. Miller was the founder and CEO of 9Lenses. Before 9Lenses, Miller served as President and CEO of Everest Software, Inc., Infodata Systems and iKimbo, and President and COO of XML Solutions. His board service includes Spotlight Ticket Management Systems, Diamond Mind, MindShare Emeritus and Liberty University School of Business. He is an Adjunct Professor and Research Fellow at George Mason University.
