Mainstreet Health Investments Inc. [TORONTO] (TSX: HLP.U) announced that Adlai Chester has advised the Company that he intends to resign as Chief Executive Officer of the Company for personal reasons.
Mills Fleet Farm [APPLETON, Wis. & BRAINERD, Minn.] announced the appointment of Wayne Sales as Interim Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”). Sales succeeds Duncan Mac Naughton, who is stepping down. Sales, who currently serves on Mills Fleet Farm’s Board of Directors, was formerly CEO and President of Canadian Tire. Most recently, Sales served as Chairman, CEO, and President of SUPERVALU from 2012 to 2013. During his career, Sales has served on the boards of directors of several major retailers, including Canadian Tire, SUPERVALU / Albertson’s, Tim Hortons, and Toys “R” Us.
TrialScope [JERSEY CITY, N.J.] announced that the Board of Directors have appointed Mark Heinold as chief executive officer. Most recently, Mr. Heinold served as chief executive officer for Physician’s Desk Reference (PDR). He also spent over 10 years at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation.
Amplyx Pharmaceuticals [SAN DIEGO] announced the appointment of Dr. Ciara Kennedy to president and chief executive officer (CEO). In conjunction with this announcement, the company’s former president and CEO, Mike Grey, has assumed the role of executive chairman of the Amplyx Board of Directors. Dr. Kennedy joined Amplyx as chief operating officer (COO) in October 2015. Prior to joining Amplyx, Dr. Kennedy served as vice president and cholestatic liver disease program head at Shire Pharmaceuticals, which had acquired Lumena Pharmaceuticals, where Dr. Kennedy served as COO. Dr. Kennedy also served as vice president of operations at Cypress Bioscience Inc.
Human Longevity, Inc. [SAN DIEGO] announced Cynthia Collins as the new Chief Executive Officer. She will also join the Board of Directors. She replaces co-founder J. Craig Venter, who will relinquish the CEO role but will continue to serve as Executive Chairman of the HLI Board of Directors and will remain in a daily role leading the scientific strategy and direction of HLI. Collins comes to HLI most recently from GE Healthcare where she was the CEO/ General Manager for the Cell Therapy and Purification and Analysis Businesses. Prior to that she was CEO of GE’s Clarient Diagnostics, Inc. Prior to joining GE, Collins was recruited by the board of directors of Genvec Inc. to be president and CEO. Prior to Genvec, Collins was the Group Vice President of the Cellular Analysis Business Group. Collins was the President and CEO of Sequoia Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Before Sequoia, Collins was President of Clinical Microsensors, Inc. Collins also has spent 17 years at Baxter Healthcare Corporation having arrived there from a start-up, Pandex Laboratories, which was acquired by Baxter. Her tenure at Baxter included Vice President and General Manager level positions for the Gene and Cell Therapy, Transfusion Therapies and BioScience divisions. Her career there culminated in being named President of the Oncology business. Prior to Baxter Healthcare, Collins spent six years at Abbott Laboratories in a variety of operational positions.
BBG [DALLAS] announced that current President Chris Roach has been promoted to CEO. Former CEO Diane Butler has transitioned out of the business but will remain a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Roach was a founding shareholder of BBG. Prior to BBG, Mr. Roach was Vice President – National Client Manager for LandAmerican Valuation Corporation. He is actively involved in The Real Estate Council (TREC) and was elected into the Associate Leadership Council, class of 2010-11. Mr. Roach is also an active member of the North Texas Chapter of Appraisal Institute where he currently serves as Vice President. Additionally, he is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), National Multi-Housing Council (NMHC) and Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA).
HCP [IRVINE, Calif.] (NYSE: HCP) announced that it appointed Tom Herzog as Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Board. Mr. Herzog served as CFO of HCP from June 2016 through December 2016. From January 2013 until joining HCP in June 2016, he was CFO of UDR, Inc. Mr. Herzog served as CFO of Amstar, from August 2011 to January 2013. He previously served as CFO of HCP from April 2009 to May 2011. Mr. Herzog was Chief Accounting Officer at Apartment Investment and Management Company, a multifamily REIT, from 2004 to 2005 and CFO from 2005 to 2009. From 2000 to 2004, he served in the roles of Chief Accounting Officer & Global Controller and Finance Technical Advisor for GE Real Estate. Prior to joining GE Real Estate, Mr. Herzog began his career in public accounting with Deloitte & Touche LLP.
Retail Solutions, Inc. [MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.] announced that it has appointed Bert Clement as the new Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Board of Directors. Co-founder and former CEO Jonathon Golovin, will assume the role of Chief Strategy Officer and will continue to serve on the Board.
Pioneer Bank [AUSTIN, Texas] announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Ron Coben to President and Chief Executive Officer. Coben has been interim-CEO since August 2016. Most recently, Coben served seven years as Chief Operating Officer of Pioneer Bank and First Community Bank, Pioneer’s merger partner. He began his banking career 30 years ago with Texas Commerce Bank followed by a 14-year tenure at Houston-based Bank United where he served as Executive Vice President-Retail Banking. Coben also has provided consulting services to firms including Barclays UK and Guaranty Bank.
Imperial Parking Corporation [VANCOUVER] announced the appointment of Ty Stafford as President & Chief Executive Officer, and member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Stafford succeeds Allan Copping who held the position of President and CEO since 2010, and remains with the company in a consulting capacity. Ty Stafford joins Impark from Securitas USA, Inc.
Granite Bank [COLEBROOK, N.H.] announced the appointment of Scott A. Cooper as President and Chief Executive Officer succeeding Loyd W. Dollins, who has retired after over 40 years in banking. Cooper transitioned from his role as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer to President and CEO. Cooper served as President and Chief Executive Officer of First Brandon National Bank. More recently he was Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Management Officer of a large community bank in Minnesota. For over three decades Cooper held roles ranging from Chief Risk Management Officer, Chief Credit Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
EverString [SAN MATEO, CA] announced that it has promoted Co-founder and President J.J. Kardwell to CEO. Kardwell has also become a member of EverString’s Board of Directors. Kardwell has served as President of EverString since March 2014. Prior to co-founding EverString, Kardwell was a partner at the venture capital and growth equity firm Summit Partners, where he spent almost 10 years. He started his career at The Walt Disney Company, where he held multiple roles at Walt Disney World and Walt Disney Internet Group (now Disney Interactive). Kardwell has served on the boards of numerous public and private companies, including Newmarket International), HelpSystems, Fortegra, MACOM, and Logisticare.
Eastern Bank [BOSTON] announced that Robert F. Rivers has been appointed to the position of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Rivers joined Eastern Bank in 2006 as its Vice Chairman and Chief Banking Officer, becoming President in 2007, Chief Operating Officer in 2012, and an Eastern Bank Director in 2015. Rivers began his banking career in 1982 as a teller while in college, joining the former Old Stone Bank in Providence upon graduation in 1986. From 1991 to 2005, he held a number of staff and line leadership positions at M&T Bank in Buffalo, N.Y. Prior to joining Eastern, he was an Executive Vice President for Retail Banking at the former Commercial Federal Bank in Omaha, Nebraska.
Cornerstone Healthcare Group Holding, Inc. [DALLAS] announced that Steve Jakubcanin has joined Cornerstone as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Jakubcanin joins Cornerstone from AccentCare, where he served as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that, he served as the Senior Vice President of Kindred Healthcare’s Central Region.
Medica [MINNETONKA, Minn.] announced the retirement of CEO and President David Tilford. John Naylor, currently Senior Vice President of Medica’s Commercial Markets Division, has been named as Tilford’s successor. Naylor joined Medica in April 2010 and has more than 30 years of industry experience. He has led the Commercial Markets Division for more than four years. Prior to joining Medica, Naylor was with Willis Towers Watson (formerly Towers Perrin) for 21 years. For more than a decade, he served as the market leader for the Towers Perrin Minneapolis office and Managing Director for the U.S. Central Region.
Nevada State Bank [LAS VEGAS], a division of ZB, N.A, announced that Terrance A. (“Terry”) Shirey was named President and CEO. He succeeds Dallas E. Haun, who has served as Nevada State Bank’s CEO over the course of the past decade. Mr. Haun will continue to serve as Nevada State Bank’s Chairman. Mr. Shirey joined Nevada State Bank in 2008 as its chief financial officer, and most recently has served as the bank’s president and chief operating officer.
The Ayn Rand Institute (ARI) [IRVINE, Calif.] announced that it has chosen Jim Brown as the Institute’s new chief executive officer. Yaron Brook will continue as president. For over 18 years, Brown has been involved with ARI as a consultant and contributor and as an activist for the philosophy of Ayn Rand. He recently served as a partner at Brandes Investment Partners, capping a 30-year career in finance. Prior to this, he served in the United States Air Force as a pilot, flight instructor, flight commander and squadron commander.
RobustWealth [LAMBERTVILLE, N.J.] announced the addition of Rick Frisbie as their new CEO. Rick most recently served as Executive Vice President for Franklin Templeton’s multi-asset and alternative businesses. Prior to these positions, Rick served as Chief Administrative Officer, as well as President of Franklin Templeton’s Retirement Division. Rick currently serves on the Board of the San Francisco 49ers Foundation.
OneNeck® IT Solutions [EDEN PRAIRIE, MINN.] announced that Terry Swanson is the new president and CEO. Swanson, a 30-year industry veteran, joined OneNeck in 2011. At that time, he was the CEO of two of OneNeck’s subsidiary companies. Swanson succeeds Phil LaForge as president and CEO. Prior to joining OneNeck, Terry held various positions with CDW Corporation, Cisco Systems Inc., 3Com Corporation and IBM.
Reiter Affiliated Companies (RAC) [OXNARD, CALIFORNIA] announced that current COO, Hector Lujan, assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer. Garland Reiter, Co-Founder and previous CEO, transitions to the role of Executive Chairman. Lujan joined the company in 2002 as Vice President of Central Mexico for the company’s Mexican affiliate, BerryMex. In 2011, Lujan relocated to the U.S. to work for RAC as the Chief Operating Officer (COO). Before joining the company, Lujan worked for Bionova Fresh, a subsidiary of Grupo Pulsar, as Operations Manager.
Burns & McDonnell [KANSAS CITY, Mo.] announced that Ray Kowalik has been named CEO. Kowalik came to Burns & McDonnell in 1987 as a structural engineer.
Henry Ford Health System [DETROIT] announced the appointment of their new president and CEO, Wright Lassiter, III. Lassiter succeeds Nancy Schlichting, who retired at the end of 2016. Lassiter was chosen as incoming CEO in 2014 as part of a planned transition. He served as a system president since December 2014. Prior to Henry Ford, Lassiter was CEO of Alameda Health System in Oakland, California. He also has more than 25 years of experience with large, complex health systems, including Methodist Health System in Dallas, and JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas. Lassiter currently serves on several boards, including the American Hospital Association, America’s Essential Hospitals, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago – Detroit Branch.
The Milwaukee Urban League [MILWAUKEE] announced that Dr. Eve Hall, currently President and CEO of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin (AACCW), has been named its next President and CEO. Dr. Hall replaces Ralph E. Hollmon who has led the Milwaukee Urban League since 2002. Dr. Hall’s past roles have included Chief Innovation Officer/Vice President of Programs/Executive Director for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund; Vice President of Public Affairs for Family Service of Milwaukee; MPS School to Work Administrator reporting to the Superintendent, and Director of former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson’s Milwaukee Office. Dr. Hall takes the helm at the Milwaukee Urban League on January 23.
Nevsun Resources Ltd. [VANCOUVER] (TSX: NSU, NYSE MKT: NSU) announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Cliff Davis, has advised he will be retiring during 2017. Mr. Davis has been associated with Nevsun for over 22 years, after an 18-year career with KPMG.
