Resources Connection, Inc. [IRVINE, Calif.] (NASDAQ: RECN) announced the promotion of Kate W. Duchene to President and Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”). Ms. Duchene has served as the Company’s Interim CEO since October 5, 2016, when Anthony Cherbak announced his unexpected retirement as CEO due to health considerations. Ms. Duchene joined the Company in 1999, serving as Chief Legal Officer, Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Secretary, since 2000.
BlackRock Capital Investment Corporation [NEW YORK] (NASDAQ: BKCC) announced that Michael Zugay, Head of Investments for BlackRock’s US Private Capital Group, has been named Chief Executive Officer of the company. The appointment of Zugay follows the decision of Steven Sterling to leave his executive role, while remaining a Director for BCIC. Michael Zugay is Head of Investments for BlackRock’s US Private Capital Group based out of the New York office. Mr. Zugay currently serves as Vice Chairman of US Private Capital’s investment committee, and will become Chairman of US Private Capital’s investment committee. Before joining BlackRock, Mr. Zugay was a Managing Director for Ares Management’s Direct Lending Group. Prior to Ares, Mr. Zugay worked at Zolfo Cooper. He began his career at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette (“DLJ”) as an analyst in its corporate finance investment banking program and later joined UBS as a generalist in its investment banking division in Los Angeles, CA.
Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated [ST. LOUIS] (NYSE: RGA) announced that it has appointed Anna Manning as the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective January 1, 2017. Manning was appointed President in November 2015. The Board announced at that time that it expected her to succeed A. Greig Woodring, the current CEO, who officially retired on December 31, 2016.
Hyundai Motor America [FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif.] announced the appointment of W. Gerald (Jerry) Flannery as interim president and CEO. He succeeds Dave Zuchowski who will be leaving the company. Flannery, who has been with Hyundai since 1987 and is responsible for all legal matters in the U.S., will retain his duties as Chief Legal and Safety Officer. Recently, he created Hyundai’s first safety office in North America. Previously, Flannery was a senior attorney in the Office of the General Counsel at Ford Motor Co.
MainSource Financial Group, Inc. [GREENSBURG, Ind.] announced the retirement of Daryl R. Tressler, President and Chief Executive Officer of MainSource Bank, effective December 31, 2016.
KMS Financial Services, Inc. [SEATTLE] a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc. (NYSE MKT: LTS) announced that, effective January 1, 2017, Eric Westberg will become KMS’ Chairman and CEO. Mr. Westberg joined KMS in 1987, deploying his legal and accounting background across a range of compliance, legal and due diligence responsibilities. Mr. Westberg previously served as KMS’ Chief Compliance Officer and Executive Vice President before being named President and Chief Operating Officer in 2011.
Marquest Asset Management Inc. [TORONTO] announced the appointment of Robert Kidd to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Kidd was most recently CEO, President, and Director of Artemis Investment Management Limited. Prior to his appointment to CEO in January 2016, he was Vice President, Business Development at Artemis. Previously, Mr. Kidd was CEO of Gradient Power Ltd, CEO at Gatehouse Capital Inc., and CEO at Connor, Clark & Lunn Capital Markets Inc. Mr. Kidd has also held senior positions at Brenton Reef Capital Inc., and Triax Investment Management Inc.
Provectus Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. [KNOXVILLE, Tenn.] (OTC: PVCT) announced that the Company’s Board of Directors unanimously voted to terminate Peter R. Culpepper, from all positions held with the Company, including Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, for cause in accordance with the terms of his employment agreement. In the interim, Timothy C. Scott, Ph.D, will perform the functions of the Chief Executive Officer position in his capacity as President while the Chief Executive Officer position remains vacant. Dr. Scott has been with Provectus since April 2002 and currently serves as the Company’s President. Prior to joining Provectus, Dr. Scott was a senior member of the Photogen management team from 1997 to 2002, including serving as Photogen’s Chief Operating Officer from 1999 to 2002, as a director of Photogen from 1997 to 2000, and as interim CEO for a period in 2000.
Ship Supply International [MIAMI] announced that Ares M. Michaelides has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer. Previously, Mr. Michaelides served as Ship Supply’s Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Ship Supply, Ares served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Starboard Cruise Services. Prior to that, he spent ten years in various executive positions at Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises.
Surgical Group of North Texas [GRAPEVINE, TEXAS] announced the appointment of Shahid Shafi, MD, as Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Shafi has been a surgeon with Surgical Group of North Texas since 2009. Prior to joining Surgical Group of North Texas, he was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern and Director for Trauma Surgery service line at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
Uniguest [NASHVILLE, Tenn.] announced the appointment of Jeff Hiscox as chief executive officer. Previously, Hiscox served as president and CEO of Newmarket International (hospitality technology) in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Prior to Newmarket International, Hiscox was the vice president of sales at Surebridge/ManagedOps, and most recently was a consultant for mid-market technology companies specializing in coaching, executive leadership mentorship, and growth strategies.
Tapstone Energy [OKLAHOMA CITY] announced the naming of Steven C. Dixon as Chief Executive Officer. Dixon will replace Tom L. Ward effective Jan. 1, 2017. Dixon most recently served as Executive Vice President of Operations and Geosciences and Chief Operating Officer of Chesapeake Energy.
Impax Laboratories, Inc. [HAYWARD, Calif.] (NASDAQ: IPXL) announced that J. Kevin Buchi, a member of the Impax Board of Directors (the “Board”), has been appointed Interim President and Chief Executive Officer. The Company’s Board has come to a mutual agreement with G. Frederick Wilkinson that Mr. Wilkinson separate from his positions as President and Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Board. Mr. Buchi recently served as President, Chief Executive Officer and a currently servies as a member of the board of directors of TetraLogic Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Prior to joining TetraLogic Pharmaceuticals in August 2013, Mr. Buchi served as Corporate Vice President of Global Branded Products at Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Limited from 2011 to May 2012. Before joining Teva, he was Chief Executive Officer of Cephalon, Inc., which was acquired by Teva in October 2011. Mr. Buchi joined Cephalon in 1991 and held various leadership positions, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, before becoming Cephalon’s Chief Executive Officer in December 2010. In addition to serving as a director of Impax and TetraLogic Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Buchi has since 2013 served as a director of Benitec Biopharma Ltd. He has extensive experience as a director having previously served on the board of a number of pharmaceutical companies including EPIRUS Biopharmaceuticals, Inc., Alexza Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Forward Pharma A/S.
Diversified Well Logging [RESERVE, La.] announced that David Tonner has joined the Company as its new Chief Executive Officer. David will succeed Richard Klibert as CEO. Richard will retire from day to day activity at DWL following a transition period but will retain his position as Chairman of the Board. Mr. Tonner’s most recent position was as Director – Performance Drilling at Nabors Drilling Solutions. Prior to that Dave spent 8 years in the Weatherford organization with Director positions domestically and internationally in management and business development. Dave also was Vice President for the surface logging group.
HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) [CHICAGO] reported that H. Stephen Lieber, president and chief executive officer of HIMSS, has announced his intention to retire as of the end of 2017.
Ur-Energy Inc. [LITTLETON, Colo.] (NYSE MKT: URG, TSX: URE) announced that it has appointed Jeffrey T. Klenda as President and Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of the Company. Mr. Klenda was previously named Acting CEO of Ur-Energy. Mr. Klenda is a founding director of the Company and has served as Executive Director and Chairman since 2006. He will also continue as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Over the last 30 years, Mr. Klenda has acted as an officer and/or director of numerous publicly-traded companies, after taking his first company public at age 28.
Biogen [CAMBRIDGE, Mass.] (NASDAQ: BIIB) announced that it has appointed Michel Vounatsos as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors, effective January 6, 2017. Vounatsos previously held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Biogen. Mr. Vounatsos succeeds George A. Scangos, Ph.D., who has led the company since 2010 and had previously announced that he would step down once a successor was found.
Vivint Solar [LEHI, Utah] (NYSE: VSLR) announced that David Bywater has been appointed chief executive officer of the company. Bywater has been acting in the role of interim CEO of Vivint Solar since May 2, 2016. Prior to his role at Vivint Smart Home, Bywater served as an executive vice president and corporate officer for Xerox and was the chief operating officer of its $1.8 billion State Government Services Business. He spent 10 years working at Affiliated Computer Services (ACS).
Misonix, Inc. [FARMINGDALE, N.Y.] (NASDAQ: MSON) announced the appointment of Stavros G. Vizirgianakis as the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Vizirgianakis has served as interim Chief Executive Officer since September 2, 2016, and has served as a member of the Misonix Board of Directors since May 2013. Mr. Vizirgianakis worked for United States Surgical Corporation as director of sales for sub-Saharan Africa and later Tyco Healthcare in the capacity of General Manager South Africa. Mr. Vizirgianakis was Managing Director of Ascendis Medical from January 2014 to July 2016. In 2006, Mr. Vizirgianakis co-founded Surgical Innovations, and now part of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange listed entity Ascendis Health. In that capacity, Mr. Vizirgianakis acted as an independent distributor of the Misonix line of products. Mr. Vizirgianakis also served on the board of Tenaxis Medical and is a strategic investor and advisor to numerous medical device startups and established companies in this field.
National Association of Realtors® [WASHINGTON] announced that CEO Dale Stinton will retire from the association in 2017. Stinton took over as CEO in November 2005. Previously, he served as chief financial officer and chief information officer since 1998 and was named acting CEO and executive vice president in 1996.
Bellatora Inc. [LAS VEGAS, NV] (OTC: ECGR) announced the appointment of Atom Miller to serve as Director and CEO. Mr. Miller brings a diverse background having worked for some of the finest Food and Beverage companies in the U.S., including California Pizza Kitchen, Quantum Corporation, and Bertolini’s (Co-Executive Chef).
National ACE (The Asian & Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce & Entrepreneurship) [WASHINGTON] announced that Chiling Tong will be assuming the role of its President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2017. In 2000, Ms. Tong founded the International Leadership Foundation (ILF). She was formerly chief of staff and associate director of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia and the Pacific at the International Trade Administration, and served as a member of the National Advisory Council on Minority Business Enterprises.
Genesis PURE [FRISCO, Texas] announced that Daren Hogge joins Genesis PURE as Chief Executive Officer. He was previously CEO of GoYin at the time that it merged with Genesis PURE in 2008. He then led the Genesis PURE team as President until 2012 when he stepped away.
FirstBank [LAKEWOOD, Colo.] announced that CEO John Ikard is retiring. Ikard will remain on FirstBank’s board of directors and contribute to the ongoing success of the organization. The board elected Jim Reuter as CEO, effective Feb. 1, 2017. Prior to his promotion to CEO, Jim Reuter served as FirstBank’s COO. He started with FirstBank in 1987.
ViSalus [LOS ANGELES] announced that CEO Ryan Blair is stepping down as CEO to devote more time to his venture capital firm HashTagOne and towards mentoring leading tech innovators. Blair will hand the reins to ViSalus Co-Founder Nick Sarnicola, who will take over as CEO effective January 1, 2017. Blair will continue serving as a member of Vi’s Board of Directors and remain a significant stockholder and investor in ViSalus.
BBVA Compass [HOUSTON] named Onur Genç as its next CEO. Onur Genç is currently deputy CEO of Garanti Bank. BBVA Compass is a subsidiary of BBVA Compass Bancshares Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of BBVA. Genç leads Garanti’s retail banking, private banking and asset management efforts, among other responsibilities. He joined the bank in 2012 and was named deputy CEO in 2015. BBVA is Garanti’s largest shareholder with a 39.9 percent stake. Prior to Garanti, Genç was a senior partner and Turkey office manager at McKinsey & Company, joining the global management consultancy firm in Canada. He became partner in 2004, rising to senior partner and Turkey Office Manager in 2009 at age 34. Genç started out his career in 1997 as a financial controller for American Airlines in Dallas, Texas. The appointment will be effective during the first quarter of 2017.
Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. [TAMPA, Fla.] (NYSE: OSG) announced that Samuel H. Norton has become president and CEO of OSG. Mr. Norton will succeed Ian T. Blackley, current president and CEO, who retired from the role of president, CEO and director of OSG. Mr. Norton has served as SVP of OSG and president and CEO of the U.S. Flag Strategic Business Unit since July 2016 and has served on OSG’s board of directors since August 2014. He co-founded in 2006 SeaChange Maritime, LLC, and has served as its CEO since its inception. He spent the 17-year period ended July 2005 as a senior executive officer at Tanker Pacific Management (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.
WhereScape [PORTLAND, Ore.] announced that Mark Budzinski, a 30-year industry veteran who currently serves as president of WhereScape USA and global head of sales, has been promoted to the post of CEO. Current CEO Michael Whitehead, who co-founded WhereScape in 2001, will remain as president.
Conversant Intellectual Property Management Inc. [OTTAWA] announced that it has appointed Boris Teksler to be the company’s new President and CEO and a member of the Board of Directors. Conversant’s current President and CEO, John Lindgren, will transition to a non-executive role with Conversant and will remain on the Board of Directors. Most recently Mr. Teksler was the CEO of Unwired Planet, Inc. Before that Mr. Teksler was Senior Executive Vice President and President of the Technology Business Group at Technicolor. Before moving to Technicolor, he was the head of Apple Inc.’s Patent Licensing & Strategy. Before his tenure at Apple, he co-founded the Intellectual Property Licensing Business at Hewlett-Packard Company.
