Resources Connection, Inc. [IRVINE, Calif.] (NASDAQ: RECN) announced the unanticipated retirement of its President and Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Cherbak, due to health considerations. Mr. Cherbak will remain a member of the Board of Directors and will become a part-time employee of the Company as a Special Advisor to the Interim CEO during a transition period. Concurrent with Mr. Cherbak’s retirement as CEO, the Board of Directors has activated its formal Emergency Succession Plan and named Kate W. Duchene to the role of Interim CEO. Ms. Duchene has most recently held the role of Chief Legal Officer, Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Secretary, for the Company. She has served in her executive capacity at the Company since 2000. In 2012, Ms. Duchene also assumed leadership and financial responsibility for the Company’s legal consulting business.
Penn West Petroleum Ltd. [CALGARY] (TSX: PWT) (NYSE: PWE) announced that David French will be joining the company as President and Chief Executive Officer and will join the Board of Directors, succeeding Dave Roberts who has been in the role since June, 2013. Mr. French most recently served as President and CEO of Bankers Petroleum Ltd. Prior to joining Bankers in 2013, Mr. French held several executive roles at Apache Corporation including Regional Production Manager for the western Canadian business, and Global Vice President of Business Development. Earlier in his career Mr. French worked for McKinsey & Co. in energy consulting and built his career in the Permian Basin for Amoco Production Company (now BP).
VF Corporation [GREENSBORO, N.C.] (NYSE: VFC) announced that President & Chief Operating Officer Steven E. Rendle will become the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Rendle, 57, will succeed CEO Eric C. Wiseman who will continue to serve as Executive Chairman of VF’s Board of Directors. Previously, Rendle spent three years as Vice President, VF Corporation and Group President, Outdoor & Action Sports Americas. He also served as President of VF Outdoor Americas. From 2004 to 2011, he served as President of The North Face® brand. He began his career with The North Face® brand in 1999.
USTelecom [WASHINGTON] announced it has selected Jonathan Spalter to be President and Chief Executive Officer. Spalter will replace Walter B. McCormick, Jr. who is retiring after 16 years of service. For the past eight years, he has served as chair of Mobile Future. He also held key positions in national security policy and technology management in the Clinton Administration. He served as Associate Director of the United States Information Agency and also managed the agency’s global technology resources as Chief Information Officer. In the Clinton White House, he served on the staff of the National Security Council and as Vice President Al Gore’s chief international affairs spokesperson and speechwriter. He also was a policy aide to the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy at the Pentagon. In the private sector, Spalter’s executive roles include serving as CEO of Snocap. He also was CEO of Atmedica Worldwide, and media company Vivendi Universal, where he also served as Executive Vice President for Business Development and Strategy at its Internet subsidiary VivendiNet; and as the group’s Senior Vice President for global public policy.
Dune Medical Devices [PAOLI, Pa.] announced the appointment of Lori Chmura to Chief Executive Officer. Chmura joined Dune in January 2016 to lead Dune’s commercial activities in the United States. Chmura has held roles of increasing responsibility for building and growing businesses at Medtronic, Covidien, and J&J in a career spanning more than 30 years.
Micronet Enertec Technologies, Inc. [MONTVALE, N.J] (NASDAQCM: MICT) announced that Kenneth Wiesner was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Micronet Inc., the Company’s U.S. based MRM subsidiary. Prior to joining Micronet he was Chief Executive Officer of Enfotrace GPS, a position he held from 2008 to 2011. Prior to Enfotrace, Mr. Wiesner was CEO at Aircept LLC from 2004 to 2006. Mr. Wiesner’s introduction to the telematics and MRM device/solution industry began with his role as COO/Regional Vice President at Teletrac Inc., a position he held from 1995 to 2001.
Red Aviation [DALLAS] announced the appointment of Josh Abelson as Chief Executive Officer. Abelson will replace Ben Murray, who has served on the board of Red Aviation since April 2015 and as interim CEO since March 2016. Abelson was most recently Chief Marketing Officer at AeroTurbine, Inc. Prior to AeroTurbine, Abelson was Chief Marketing Officer of HEICO Aerospace. He has also held management positions at Aviation Sales Distribution Company, Applied Aerodynamics, Inc. and Aviall Distribution.
Purple, Inc. [SALT LAKE CITY] has appointed Sam Bernards as chief executive officer. After having started multiple companies, Bernards joined Walmart in 2006 and moved quickly through the company’s ranks.
Medifocus, Inc. [COLUMBIA, MD] (OTCQX: MDFZF) (TSX-V: MFS.V) announced the appointment of William Jow to the position of Chief Executive Officer, replacing Augustine Y. Cheung, the founder of the Company. Dr. Jow has been in private practice for over 20 years, and has been Chairman of Urology at Hackensack Meridian Health – Bayshore Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey, and served on its Medical Executive Committee since 2012. He has also served as consultants to various sales and product development ventures before joining Medifocus as Scientific & Business Development Consultant and Medical Director in 2014.
Market Track, LLC [CHICAGO] announced that Dennis Moore will be promoted to Chief Executive Officer. Moore will succeed Wayne Mincey, who will become the Executive Chairman of Market Track’s Board of Directors. Moore joined Market Track as President in May, 2016 from Nielsen where he had served in a number of executive roles over the last 12 years and was most recently President of their Professional Services Division.
Waterford Institute [SALT LAKE CITY] announced the stepping down of Dr. Dustin Heuston as Chief Executive Officer and board chair. He will continue serving as founder and chair emeritus. Dr. Benjamin Heuston, who has been serving as Waterford’s president since 2003, will assume the role of president and CEO.
CTI BioPharma Corp. [SEATTLE] (NASDAQ: CTIC) announced that James A. Bianco, BioPharma’s President and Chief Executive Officer, has retired from the Company. At the request of the Board of Directors, Richard Love, a director of CTI BioPharma since 2007, has been appointed to serve as interim President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Love started two biotechnology companies, Triton Biosciences Inc. and ILEX Oncology Inc., and he served as chief executive officer for Triton Biosciences Inc. from 1983 to 1991 and as chief executive officer for ILEX Oncology from 1994 to 2001. Mr. Love also served in executive positions at not-for-profit organizations including the Cancer Therapy and Research Center (CTRC) and the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen). He currently is a director of PAREXEL International Corporation, and is a director of several private companies.
RCCH HealthCare Partners [BRENTWOOD, Tenn.] announced that Executive Chairman Martin S. Rash has assumed the roles of Chief Executive Officer and President for the company. He replaces Michael Wiechart who resigned as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Rash will remain in his role as Chairman.
MB Bancorp, Inc. [FOREST HILL, Md.] (OTCBB: MBCQ) announced that it has parted ways with President and Chief Executive Officer Julia A. Newton and has appointed Philip P. Phillips as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company and the Bank. Ms. Newton has resigned as a director of the Company and the Bank, and Mr. Phillips has been appointed to the Boards of Directors of the Company and the Bank.
Comtech Telecommunications Corp. [MELVILLE, N.Y.] (NASDAQ: CMTL) announced that Comtech’s Chairman of the Board, Fred Kornberg, will immediately resume his role as Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) and President and that its current CEO and President, Dr. Stanton D. Sloane, is departing the Company and also resigning from Comtech’s Board of Directors.
National Retail Properties, Inc. [ORLANDO, Fla.] (NYSE: NNN) announced that Craig Macnab, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board, will retire as CEO and step down as Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors. Julian E. (“Jay”) Whitehurst, currently President and Chief Operating Officer, will assume the role of President and CEO. Mr. Macnab has been the Company’s Chief Executive Officer since February 2004, and the Chairman of its Board of Directors since February 2008.
Jamberry Nails, LLC [AMERICAN FORK, Utah] announced that Elizabeth Thibaudeau has been named Chief Executive Officer. Elizabeth, most recently Vice President, Global Marketing at Nu Skin Enterprises, will succeed Adam Hepworth who will remain a member of the Company’s Board of Directors and a major shareholder. For the past 20 years, Elizabeth has served in roles of significant responsibility at Nu Skin Enterprises, most recently, as Vice President of Global Marketing.
KnowledgeLake, Inc. [ST. LOUIS] announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Bernie Schweiss as Chief Executive Officer of KnowledgeLake, Inc. Former Chief Executive Officer, Ron Cameron, will serve as KnowledgeLake’s Chairman of the Board. Schweiss is being promoted from Chief Operating Officer. During his four years at KnowledgeLake, Schweiss has also assumed the role of Vice President of Sales and Marketing and created the Client Success division while serving as its Director. Schweiss owned and operated his own company for over 15 years before embarking on a career in enterprise technology sales with Microsoft and Epson, joining KnowledgeLake in 2012.
