The Brink’s Company [RICHMOND, Va.] (NYSE: BCO) announced that it has appointed George I. Stoeckert, a current independent director of Brink’s, as interim chief executive officer. Tom Schievelbein, the current chairman, president and CEO, is retiring from Brink’s. George Stoeckert has been a director of The Brink’s Company since January 2016. He has been a private investor and advisor since 2011. From 2009 to 2011, he served as president of North America and internet solutions at Dun & Bradstreet. Prior to that, he held various senior leadership positions at ADP, including president of employer services international and president of the major accounts services division. Before joining ADP, he was president of the insurance management services division at Ryder System. He currently serves on the board of directors of Onvia, Inc. and Theragenics.
Univar Inc. [DOWNERS GROVE, Ill.] (NYSE: UNVR) announced the appointment of Stephen D. Newlin as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective May 31, 2016. Mr. Newlin has served on the Univar Board of Directors since 2014. Mr. Newlin previously served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of PolyOne Corporation from 2006 – 2014. Mr. Newlin currently serves as Executive Chairman of the Board for PolyOne, a role from which he will be retiring as of May 12, 2016. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Newlin was President, Industrial Sector at Ecolab, Inc. He previously spent 24 years at Nalco Chemical Company in positions of increasing responsibility. He served as President and Director of Nalco from 1998 to 2001, and was President, Chief Operating Officer, and Vice Chairman from 2000 to 2001. Mr. Newlin currently serves on the boards of directors of The Chemours Company and Oshkosh Corporation. Mr. Newlin succeeds Erik Fyrwald, who announced his voluntary resignation as President and Chief Executive Officer, and from the Board of Directors of Univar, effective May 31, 2016, to become Chief Executive Officer of another company.
RBC Wealth Management-U.S. [MINNEAPOLIS] announced the appointment of Michael Armstrong to serve as its chief executive officer. Armstrong will join RBC from Jefferies & Co., where he was the global head of wealth management. He replaces John Taft, who will retire from RBC on May 31 of this year. Armstrong joined Jefferies & Co. in 2014, as its global head of wealth management. Before moving to Jefferies & Co., Armstrong held several senior leadership positions at Morgan Stanley, where he worked from 1987 to 2012.
The National Capital Bank [WASHINGTON] announced the appointment of Richard B. (Randy) Anderson, Jr. as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Anderson has more than 39 years’ experience in the Washington area banking community and, most recently, served as Regional President Metro DC with United Bank. He previously spent 17 years as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer with Virginia Commerce Bank until its merger with United in early 2014.
Logi Analytics [MCLEAN, Va.] announced that it has appointed Steven Schneider as Chief Executive Officer. Brett Jackson will assume the role of Executive Chairman and will continue to serve as the Chairman of Logi’s Board. Schneider joined Logi Analytics in 2008 and has moved through the Company’s ranks, leading multiple key functions, including Sales, Marketing and Product. He most recently served as Chief Operating Officer.
ProLabs [MINNEAPOLIS] announced the appointment of Ward Williams as Chief Executive Officer. Williams, who has been ProLabs’ Chief Commercial Officer since 2014, previously worked at TE Connectivity, where he was most recently VP of global sales and marketing for the datacomm business unit. Williams replaces Nick Moglia, who has held the position of CEO at the company since 2013.
Phillips Pet Food & Supplies [EASTON, Pa.] announced the appointment of Todd Shelton as Chief Executive Officer. Todd joins Phillips after most recently serving as an officer of Essendant Inc. During his 14-year tenure, Todd served as President of Essendant’s two largest operating units. Blaine Phillips has served as CEO of Phillips since 1981.
Kaufman Hall [SKOKIE, Ill.] announced that Tom Walsh has joined the company as chief executive officer of its software business. Walsh succeeds Jason Sussman, managing director at Kaufman Hall and acting CEO since the acquisition of Axiom EPM in April of 2014. Walsh is a general manager with more than 25 years of experience in the enterprise finance and regulatory software space, including 10 years of P&L experience leading global businesses for Thomson Reuters.
ABRA Auto Body & Glass [MINNEAPOLIS] announced that Duane Rouse plans to transition from day-to-day operations, stepping down as Chief Executive Officer to assume the role of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. Rouse will continue to serve as CEO until a replacement is appointed.
QBE North America [NEW YORK] an operating division of QBE Group, announced that Russell Johnston will be joining QBE on May 31, 2016, in the role of Chief Executive Officer, North American Operations. Mr. Johnston will succeed David Duclos who is retiring from full-time executive employment. Mr. Duclos has agreed to remain with QBE as a Non-Executive Director of QBE Emerging Markets and Equator Re, as well as offering his market expertise to operational initiatives across QBE Group. Mr. Johnston has more than 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry in North America, and has held a range of senior business and operational roles since joining American International Group Inc. (AIG) in 1990. From 2011 to November 2015 Mr. Johnson served as President of AIG Casualty in the Americas, with responsibility for all U.S., Canada, Bermuda and London-based U.S. Casualty underwriters.
Vivint Solar [LEHI, Utah] (NYSE: VSLR) announced the appointment of David Bywater as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer on an interim basis. Mr. Bywater joins from Vivint Smart Home (“Vivint”) where he has served as Chief Operating Officer since 2013. Mr. Bywater succeeds the current Chief Executive Officer Greg Butterfield, who is stepping down from his role. Before joining Vivint, Bywater spent 10 years working at Affiliated Computer Services (ACS). Most recently, Bywater served as an Executive Vice President and Corporate Officer for Xerox and was the Chief Operating Officer of its State Government Services Business.
Ultivue [CAMBRIDGE, Mass.] announced Dr. Michael J. Natan as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Ultivue, Natan was an Executive Director, New Business Development for Cabot Corporation. In 2010, Cabot acquired Oxonica Materials Inc., for which Michael served as CEO. Prior to Oxonica, Michael was a co-founder and CEO of Nanoplex Technologies Inc. (acquired by Oxonica), and served first as CTO and then as VP, Business Development for SurroMed Inc. Natan is currently a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Midatech plc, and was a longstanding member of the Gordon Research Conference Board of Trustees (2005-2013).
Birch Communications, Inc. [ATLANTA] announced that it has named Tony Tomae as the company’s next President and CEO. Tomae succeeds Vincent M. Oddo, who will be assuming a new position as President and CEO of Birch’s sister company, Birch Equity Partners. Tomae comes to Birch from FairPoint Communications where he served as Chief Revenue Officer. He has served in a number of executive positions at Deltacom –now EarthLink– and WilTel Communications. He has also held positions with AT&T and Broadwing Communications.
Birch Equity Partners [ATLANTA] announced that Vincent M. Oddo will assume the position of President and CEO of Birch Equity Partners and in this new role will report to the Board of Directors of Birch Holdings, Inc. Oddo most recently held the positions of President and CEO of Birch Communications, Inc. and Managing Director of Birch Equity Partners. Oddo began his career at Graphic Scanning Corp., a BellSouth predecessor, and served as SVP and COO of Network Telephone, SVP and CIO of NuVox Communications, and SVP of BellSouth.
SafeOp Surgical, Inc. [HUNT VALLEY, Md.] announced that Gene Cattarina will join SafeOp as chief executive officer. Most recently, Mr. Cattarina was president and CEO of Capsule Technologie, Inc. Capsule was recently sold to Qualcomm, Inc. Prior to Capsule, Mr. Cattarina served as president and CEO of Impulse Monitoring, Inc. He has also held executive leadership positions at Lynx Medical Systems, Inc., now a part of Optum®; Landacorp, Inc.; Medicode, Inc., also now a part of Optum®; and TDS Healthcare Systems, now a part of Allscripts.
BAROnova, Inc. [GOLETA, Calif.] announced the appointment of David S. Thrower as President and Chief Executive Officer. BAROnova’s founding CEO, Hugh Narciso, will continue to serve the company as a strategic advisor. Mr. Thrower most recently served as CEO of Asante Solutions. Prior to that, he was CEO of InSound Medical, Inc., which was acquired by Sonova Holdings AG. Earlier, Mr. Thrower was Vice President, Global Marketing for Align Technology, Inc. Mr. Thrower began his career as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company.
Vee24 [BOSTON] announced that Priya Iyer has joined the company as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Iyer was most recently Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of Anaqua. In addition to her time at Anaqua, Iyer headed Operations at Steelpoint Technologies.
Central Garden & Pet Company [WALNUT CREEK, Calif.] (NASDAQ: CENT) announced that George C. Roeth will be named President and Chief Executive Officer, effective June 1, 2016. Mr. Roeth is a Director of the Company. He succeeds John R. Ranelli, who will retire from his positions as President and Chief Executive Officer, but will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor to the Company and will remain a member of the Company’s Board of Directors. Before serving on the board at Central Garden and Pet, George Roeth was a 27-year veteran of The Clorox Company, where he held various leadership positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, from 2013 to 2014, Mr. Roeth served as Chief Operating Officer of Lifestyle, Household and Global Operating Functions. Previously, Mr. Roeth served as Senior Vice President and General Manager, during which time he was also Chairman of the Board for the Clorox and Procter & Gamble Glad Products Joint Venture. Prior to that, Mr. Roeth served in several senior-level marketing and operations roles at Clorox, including Vice President and General Manager, Vice President of Growth and Marketing, and Vice President of Brand Development, among others.
Tangoe, Inc. [ORANGE, Conn.] (NASDAQ: TNGO) announced that Al Subbloie has resigned from his role as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. Independent Director James Foy will serve as Acting Chief Executive Officer while a search process is conducted to identify a permanent CEO. Mr. Foy has served as a member of the Board since March 2014. Mr. Foy has been the Executive Chairman of SemantX since August 2014. Mr. Foy served as Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of privately held Talend, Inc. from February 2013 to October 2013. Previously, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of privately held Aspect Software, Inc. and two predecessor companies (Concerto Software, Inc. and Davox Corporation) from 2001 to 2012. In 1991, he founded Constellation Software, Inc., and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer for three years. In 1994, Constellation was acquired by VMark Software, Inc., a predecessor company of Ardent Software, which was subsequently acquired by Informix Corp. Mr. Foy remained with the surviving companies in various senior executive positions, including President of Informix, until IBM acquired Informix in 2001.
Precision Global [RYE BROOK, N.Y.] announced that Mario Barbero has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Barbero succeeds Doug Hind, who will retire from day-to-day leadership. Mr. Barbero joins Precision Global with nearly 20 years of experience in the value-added packaging industry, most recently as Chief Executive Officer of ALLTUB Group. Before joining ALLTUB in 2005, Mr. Barbero worked for five years in various roles at Alcan Beauty Packaging.
Vaultize [SAN FRANCISCO, NEW YORK, and LONDON] announced that Jim Mongillo has joined as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company. Jim has played pivotal leadership roles in several successful start-ups and Fortune 1000 companies – Illustra (acquired by Informix), WebLogic (acquired by BEA), Oracle Corporation, Jive Software (IPO), Servio CEO (acquired by Crowdsource), and Swrve.
Notal Vision, Inc. [CHANTILLY, Va.] announced that Quinton Oswald has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer. Co-founder, Barak Azmon, will continue to serve on Notal’s board of directors. Quinton Oswald was most recently the CEO of Neurotech Pharmaceuticals and, prior to that, CEO of SARcode Bioscience. Previously, he was Vice President & Business Unit Head for Genentech’s Tissue Growth and Repair Business. Prior to Genentech, Mr. Oswald led the North American Ophthalmology business for Novartis.
Swiss Watch International, Inc. [MIRAMAR, Fla.] announced that Keith Bradley has joined SWI as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Bradley is a Clearlake Operating Advisor and has extensive management and leadership experience. He currently serves as Chairman of the Pomeroy Group, a leading IT infrastructure and managed services provider that is also in Clearlake’s portfolio. His prior roles include CEO of Tolt Solutions, North American President of Ingram Micro, and CFO of Ingram Micro North America.
Kemmons Wilson Insurance Group (KWIG) [MEMPHIS, Tenn.] announced that Dave Thomas has joined the team as Chief Executive Officer. Most recently, Dave was CEO of Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation.
Bayou Steel Group [LaPlace, LA] announced that Robert (“Rob”) Simon will take the helm as CEO. Mr. Simon joins the team with over 25 years of hands-on operating experience within the steel industry, most recently leading the Structural & Rail division of Steel Dynamics, Inc. Mr. Simon also served as Group Executive Vice President for EVRAZ North America.
CÜR Media, Inc. [NEW YORK] (OTCQB: CURM) announced that Jim Urie, former President and CEO of Universal Music Group Distribution, has been appointed Executive Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors, Interim President and Interim CEO. Tom Brophy, Founder of CÜR Media, will continue to have an active role with the Company and will continue to be a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Urie was President of Universal Music Group Distribution for 16 years, and CEO and President for 12 of those years, until his departure in early 2015. Urie had been with Universal Music Group since 1996. Urie began his music career in 1972 as a college rep for CBS Records. Upon leaving CBS, he spent time at both PolyGram and Arista Records before joining Universal.
PowWow Mobile [SAN FRANCISCO] announced that Kia Behnia has been appointed CEO. Kia Behnia has more than 20 years of industry experience in mobility and digital transformation, and most recently served as a board member of PowWow Mobile. Prior to joining PowWow Mobile, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at BMC for a decade.
National HealthCare Corporation [MURFREESBORO, Tenn.] (NYSE MKT: NHC) announced that Robert Adams plans to retire as Chief Executive Officer, effective December 31, 2016. Mr. Adams will remain as non-executive Chairman of the Board following his retirement.
NRG Yield, Inc. [PRINCETON, N.J.] (NYSE: NYLD) announced the appointment of Christopher Sotos as President and Chief Executive Officer. Interim President and Chief Executive Officer Mauricio Gutierrez will transition the role to Mr. Sotos through the second quarter 2016. Mr. Sotos has been on the Board of Directors of NRG Yield since its initial public offering in July 2013. Prior to his appointment as President and CEO of NRG Yield, Mr. Sotos served as Head of Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions at NRG Energy, Inc. (NRG). He also served as NRG’s Treasurer from March 2008 to September 2012. Mr. Sotos joined NRG in 2004 as a Senior Finance Analyst, following more than nine years in key financial roles within the energy sector at companies including Koch Capital Markets, Entergy Wholesale Operations and Service Corporation International. Mr. Sotos also serves on the board of FuelCell Energy, Inc. In connection with Mr. Sotos’ appointment as President and CEO, Mr. Gutierrez will assume the role of Chairman of the Board of NRG Yield.
WhiteHorse Finance, Inc. [NEW YORK] (NASDAQ: WHF) announced the appointment of Stuart Aronson as Chief Executive Officer, effective May 23, 2016. Jay Carvell, the Company’s current Chief Executive Officer, will continue to serve as a member of the Company’s Board of Directors and as a Managing Director of H.I.G. WhiteHorse Advisers, LLC (“WhiteHorse Advisers”), the Company’s investment adviser. Mr. Aronson currently serves as the Group Head of the U.S. direct lending platform of H.I.G. Capital, L.L.C. (“H.I.G. Capital”), an affiliate of WhiteHorse Advisers. Prior to joining H.I.G. Capital, Mr. Aronson was President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Capital’s U.S. Sponsor Finance Group (“GSF”) and was an officer of the General Electric Company. From 2010 to 2015, GSF was a leading provider of debt financing to U.S. sponsor-backed middle market companies.
FireEye, Inc. [MILPITAS, CA] (NASDAQ: FEYE) announced that Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer David DeWalt will assume the role of executive chairman of the board, and Kevin Mandia, currently FireEye president, will succeed DeWalt as CEO. These leadership changes will be effective on June 15, 2016, the day following the FireEye annual shareholder meeting. Mandia was named FireEye president in February 2015 and was appointed to the FireEye Board of Directors in February of this year. Mandia previously served as FireEye senior vice president and chief operating officer from December 2013, when FireEye acquired Mandiant, the company he founded in 2004.
Doctor On Demand [SAN FRANCISCO] announced that Hill Ferguson will serve as the company’s CEO. Hill is a former PayPal senior executive who has experience leading companies at every stage of growth, from founding a company to serving as senior executive in a high-growth public company. Ferguson replaces Adam Jackson as CEO. Jackson has been with the company since its founding.
Teradata Corp. [ATLANTA] (NYSE: TDC) announced that it has appointed Victor L. Lund, a member of Teradata’s Board of Directors since September 2007, as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Lund succeeds Mike Koehler who has stepped down as Teradata’s President, CEO and Board Director. Mr. Lund served as chair of the Audit Committee on Teradata’s Board of Directors. He was the non-executive chairman of the board of DemandTec, Inc. from December 2006 until February 2012. Previously, Lund was non-executive chairman of the board of Mariner Health Care, Inc. from 2002 to 2004, and he was vice chairman of Albertson’s, Inc. from 1999 to 2002. He was also chairman of the board of American Stores Company from 1995 until 1999 and its chief executive officer from 1992 until 1999. During his 22-year career with American Stores, Mr. Lund also held many operating executive positions. He also serves as a director of Service Corporation International and has served on a number of publicly-traded company boards, including Del Monte Foods Company and Delta Airlines.
Visiting Nurse Health System [ATLANTA] announced the appointment of Norene Mostkoff as CEO beginning in July. Since 2009 Mostkoff has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of HCI-VNS Care Services of Des Moines, Iowa. Prior to HCI-VNS, Mostkoff served as the chief operating officer at HospiceCare Inc. (now Agrace HospiceCare) in Madison, Wisconsin. Mostkoff replaces Interim CEO, Atlanta native, and prior COO Mary Arthur who stepped in from retirement in December to provide fresh leadership and invaluable support to Visiting Nurse and the CEO transition process.
JetPay Corporation [BERWYN, PA] (NASDAQ: JTPY) announced that Diane (Vogt) Faro, a current member of the Company’s Board of Directors (“Board”), has been elected by the Board as Chief Executive Officer. Bipin C. Shah, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer, and will continue in his role as the Company’s Chairman and a member of the Board. Ms. Faro has been a member of the Board since 2014. She most recently served as President of National Benefit Programs, LLC. Ms. Faro held numerous leadership positions including President of Global Merchant Services at First Data Corporation. Ms. Faro also served as President of First Data Alliance Group and was Chief Executive Officer of Chase Merchant Services LLC. Ms. Faro is a former President of the Electronic Transactions Association, served on the Boards of Merchant Link and Front Stream payments, and is one of the founding members of the Women’s Networking in Electronic Transactions (“W.net”).
VerifyMe, Inc. [NEW YORK] (OTCQB: VRME) announced the appointment of Thomas A. Nicolette as the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Nicolette has served as the principal of Nicolette Consulting Group Limited since its founding in 1980. During his more than three-decade career, Mr. Nicolette has held executive positions with various organizations in both the security and medical device industries. Most recently, Mr. Nicolette served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of iNeedMD Holdings, Inc., from mid-2014 to mid-2016. From 2006 until Q1 2014, Mr. Nicolette was President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Akers Biosciences, Inc. Prior to his engagements in the medical device industry, Mr. Nicolette spent two decades guiding security companies into various stages of growth. From 2003 through 2006, Mr. Nicolette was the director of international business development for November AG. From 2001 to 2004, he served as Chairman of Exaqt SA de CV. Within a similar timeframe (2001 through 2003), Mr. Nicolette held two executive management positions: Executive Director of Tri-Mex Group Limited of London, UK; and President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of DNA Technologies, Inc. From 1995 through 2000, Mr. Nicolette held the positions of President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Sentry Technology Corporation.
Gradalis, Inc. [DALLAS] announced the appointment of Sunil Joshi as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Gradalis, Mr. Joshi was an Executive Team member and Vice President, Oncology Global Product Team Leader at Halozyme Therapeutics. Prior to joining Halozyme, Mr. Joshi was the head of New Product Strategy & Commercial Assessments at Onyx Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Joshi began his career in life sciences at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company where he spent 21 years in various positions of increasing responsibility, ultimately becoming Head of the Oncology Business Unit in Intercontinental markets.
Marlin Business Services Corp. [MOUNT LAUREL, N.J.] (NASDAQ: MRLN) announced that it has appointed Jeffrey A. Hilzinger as Chief Executive Officer, effective June 1, 2016. Hilzinger previously was President of EverBank Commercial Finance. He succeeds interim CEO Edward J. Siciliano, who remains Marlin’s Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer. He joined EverBank in 2010 when the company acquired Tygris Commercial Finance Group, where Hilzinger served as Chief Financial Officer of Tygris Vendor Finance. Following the acquisition, Hilzinger led the restructuring of Tygris Commercial Finance Group into EverBank Commercial Finance. In 2004, Hilzinger co-founded US Express Leasing (USXL), which was purchased by Tygris Commercial Finance Group in 2008. Prior to USXL, he was with Heller Financial for over 20 years.
Harvest Hill Beverage Company [Stamford, Conn.] announced that it has appointed Doug Gillespie as President and Chief Executive Officer. Gillespie, a 25-year veteran of consumer-facing businesses, joins the company from Jarden Corporation, where he served as President of Jarden Home and Family North America. Earlier in his career, Gillespie also held senior leadership positions at consumer packaged goods companies, including Frito-Lay, Brown-Forman and Munchkin.
The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network [BETHESDA, Md.] announced the appointment of Andrea Maddox-Smith as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining BCAN, Maddox-Smith served in a variety of leadership roles at the American Diabetes Association for 16 years, most recently as the senior vice president, Eastern division/nationwide mission delivery.
Panzura [CAMPBELL, CA] announced the appointment of Patrick Harr as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Harr joins the company after holding positions as vice president and general manager at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, vice president at VMWare as well as a go-to-market leader and CEO of multiple start-ups.
eQHealth Solutions [BATON ROUGE, La.] has named Glen J. Golemi as the organization’s new President and Chief Executive Officer. Golemi was CEO of UnitedHealthcare’s Gulf States Region. State Employees’ Credit Union [RALEIGH, N.C.] announced that Jim Blaine, the long-time CEO, is retiring effective upon selection of his replacement. Mr. Blaine has served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Credit Union since 1979.
